Examples are described for integrating interface functionality with other experiences. For example, if a user is interested in a particular item of scheduled or on-demand content (e.g., a television series episode), the user may also be interested in a web page devoted to the television series and/or other extras such as cast interviews, news, related theme apps, and the like. These types of experiences may be integrated into an interface by presenting the experiences as supplemental services that may be presented and/or selected.

A digital television and a signal processing apparatus thereof are disclosed. The digital television signal processing apparatus includes a control PCBA board and a digital demodulator standard module, wherein the digital demodulator standard module is detachably connected to the control PCBA board, the digital demodulator standard module is configured to demodulate a digital television intermediate frequency signal to obtain a digital transport stream signal, and the control PCBA board is at least configured to decode the digital transport stream signal. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the digital demodulator standard module only needs to be replaced to accommodate different countries and regions, while maintaining the PCBA control board unchanged; in this way, the entire PCBA board doe not need to be changed, thereby reducing complexity in maintenance of a plurality of PCBA control boards, and promoting material universalization.

A method and apparatus for demodulating a television analog signal is disclosed. The apparatus includes: a radio frequency receiving module, configured to receive a video signal, the video signal being an analog signal; an AD chip, configured to convert the analog signal into a digital signal via an analog-to-digital conversion, and transmit the digital signal via a digital TS; a USB bridge chip, configured to convert the digital TS into a USB signal; and a primary IC, configured to process the USB signal. According to the present disclosure, video signals in the form of analog signals may be processed, thereby addressing the defect in the related art that digital signals can be only processed.

An adaptor is provided for a games console which allows users to gain access to interactive television services through the games console. The present invention relates to a subscriber unit in a home environment and a communication system. In one embodiment the subscriber unit has an input for connection to a local video signal, from for instance a picture telephone or a video camera. A video/picture signal may thereby be reproduced in a TV-receiver being connected to the subscriber unit. A sensor in the subscriber unit detects whether a local video signal is present on the telephone unit's input. If this is the case, the control unit connects this signal to the receiving means for further transmission through the subscriber unit and the TV-receiver. The picture telephone image may either be shown separately across the entire screen of the TV or be presented in parallel with other pictorial/video information.

A method of initializing, provisioning, and managing a cable modem and a customer premise equipment device includes sending a customized configuration file to the cable modem. The configuration file contains service provisioning information and further includes information indicative of a network address type for the customer premise equipment device. A message is passed from the cable modem to the customer premise equipment device indicative of the network address type. The customer premise equipment device is provided with a network address in accordance with the network address type indicated in the message. In this way, the customer premise equipment device knows what kind of address to obtain, and excessive transactions are avoided.
