Supplemental services interface
Examples are described for integrating interface functionality with other experiences. For example, if a user is interested in a particular item of scheduled or on-demand content (e.g., a television series episode), the user may also be interested in a web page devoted to the television series and/or other extras such as cast interviews, news, related theme apps, and the like. These types of experiences may be integrated into an interface by presenting the experiences as supplemental services that may be presented and/or selected.
Broadcasting signal transmission device, broadcasting signal reception device, and method for transmitting/receiving broadcasting signal using same
Disclosed is a broadcasting signal transmission device, a broadcasting signal reception device, and a method for transmitting/receiving a broadcasting signal using same. The method for receiving the broadcasting signal comprises the following steps: receiving the broadcasting signal, which includes a transmission frame, wherein the transmission frame includes a plurality of PLPs, which transmit components that constitute a broadcasting service, first signaling information and second signaling information, which include the signaling information of the plurality of PLPs, a first preamble signal, which has been signaled with a preamble format, and a second preamble signal, which has been signaled with pilot pattern information, wherein one of the plurality of PLPs is a base PLP, which includes a program number that corresponds to the broadcasting service and program map table information, which has been signaled with identifying information for each of the PLPs; demodulating the broadcasting signal based on the first and the second preamble signals; FEC decoding the demodulated broadcasting signal; and identifying a PLP group that includes the plurality of PLP from the FEC decoded broadcasting signal based on the first and the second signaling information, decoding at least one PLP of the identified PLP group, and providing the broadcasting service.
Suggestive content based on habit
Suggestions for content are based on a habit of a user. As the user requests content, content selections are monitored for habitual selections according to channels, titles, or genres. A programming guide may then be customized based on the habitual selections.
Methods and apparatus for selecting digital access technology for programming and data delivery
Methods and apparatus for selecting digital access technology for programming and data delivery over, e.g., a network. In one embodiment, the network comprises an HFC cable or satellite network that includes a server process interfacing with a plurality of customer premises equipment (CPE), and/or associated client devices, each having different capabilities profiles. The server determines one or more capabilities possessed by the CPE, and evaluates one or more program or content choices for possible delivery to that CPE based on its profile. The server generates a list of programs or content based on this evaluation, and transmits this list to the CPE, which displays the list for viewing by a user. The user is therefore offered a list of available content that is compatible with their specific configuration. A business and operational rules engine is also optionally employed to control the operation of the foregoing processes to accomplish particular business, or operational goals.
Entry adapter for a CATV network
An entry adapter for a cable television (CATV) network includes a first signal separation device configured to separate downstream CATV signals into a first downstream high-frequency signal and a first downstream low-frequency signal based on a first cutoff frequency, a second signal separation device configured to separate the downstream CATV signals into a second downstream high-frequency signal and a second downstream low-frequency signal based on a second cutoff frequency, and a signal frequency sensor and selector device in selective communication with the first and second signal separation devices.
Method, apparatus, and system for acquiring configuration file
A method, an apparatus, and a system for acquiring a configuration file in a data over cable service are provided. The system includes: a convergence device, a cable modem terminal system CMTS assembly, and a cable modem CM, where the convergence device is connected to the CM using the CMTS assembly. The convergence device may be configured to intercept a first DHCP response message sent by a DHCP server to the CM; acquire configuration file information of the CM from the first DHCP response message; send the configuration file information of the CM to the CMTS assembly; replace address information of a Trivial File Transfer Protocol TFTP server in the first DHCP response message with address information of the convergence device, to form a second DHCP response message; and send the second DHCP response message to the CM.
EXCHANGING QUASI COLOCATION INFORMATION AND ACKNOWLEDGING DOWNLINK CONTROL INFORMATION
In an embodiment, a UE determines QCL information that indicates an association between a spatial parameter and a current transmission configuration, and conveys the determined QCL information to a BS. In another embodiment, a BS transmits a DCI that triggers transmission of a reference signal that includes QCL information that indicates an association between a spatial parameter and a current transmission configuration, whereby any DCI triggering any reference signal that includes any QCL information is configured to trigger a UE to send an express acknowledgment or an implied acknowledgment to that DCI.
CATV return band sweeping using data over cable service interface specification carrier
The existing Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) carriers generated by field test equipment or by the CATV subscriber modems are used to determine the amplitude response of the return band in a CATV system.
MULTIPLE INPUT MULTIPLE OUTPUT (MIMO) BASED CONCURRENT SCAN OF NEIGHBOR CELLS
Methods, systems, and devices are described for concurrently performing handoff-related measurements for neighbor cells using multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna resources. In one example, a mobile device is in communication with a serving cell. Handoff-related measurements of first wireless signals from a first neighbor cell are performed. The first wireless signals are received at first MIMO antenna resources of a device. Handoff-related measurements of second wireless signals from a second neighbor cell are performed, as well. The second wireless signals are received at second MIMO antenna resources concurrently with the first wireless signals received at the first MIMO antenna resources. The first handoff-related measurements and the second handoff-related measurements may be performed during a scan interval. A type of handoff-related measurement to perform may be determined based on a determined length of the scan interval.
