Methods and Systems for Detecting Persons in a Smart Home Environment
The various implementations described herein include methods, devices, and systems for detecting motion and persons. In one aspect, a method is performed at a smart home system that includes a video camera, a server system, and a client device. The video camera captures video and audio, and wirelessly communicates, via the server system, the captured data to the client device. The server system: (1) receives and stores the captured data from the video camera; (2) determines whether an event has occurred, including detected motion; (3) in accordance with a determination that the event has occurred, identifies video and audio corresponding to the event; and (4) classifies the event. The client device receives information indicative of the identified events, displays a user interface for reviewing the video and audio stored by the remote server system, and displays the at least one classification for the event.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND MEDIA FOR PRESENTING RELATED CONTENT IN A USER INTERFACE NAVIGATED USING DIRECTIONAL CONTROLS
Methods, systems, and media for navigating a user interface are provided. In some embodiments, a method for navigating a user interface is provided, the method comprising: causing a user interface to be presented including a plurality of media identifier elements corresponding to media assets; causing the plurality of media identifier elements to be arranged along a first direction of the user interface; selecting a first media asset associated with a first media identifier element for presentation; identifying related media assets in response to selection of the first media asset; causing the first media asset to be presented in a first portion of the user interface; and causing related media identifier elements to be presented in a second portion of the user interface aligned with the first portion along the first direction.
System and methods for facile, instant, and minimally disruptive playback of media files
Provided herein are novel systems and methods of digital content delivery designed to be easy, instant, and minimally disruptive for the user. The novel systems and methods of the invention can provide the device user with an instant and ephemeral snippet of entertaining media, in a metered presentation controlled by the user. The system is minimally disruptive in that the user can summon a video clip or other media content with a simple input, whereupon a clip is instantly played for the user. Upon reaching the end of the media presentation, the media player window self-closes and returns the user's device to the exact state it was in prior. In this way, a user can enjoy a short, entertaining pause without substantially interrupting their previous activity on the device.
Client-side offload of graphics effects processing
A server offloads graphics effects processing to a client device with graphics processing resources by determining a modification to a graphics effects operation, generating a portion of a rendered video stream using the modification to the graphics effects operation, and providing an encoded representation of the portion of the rendered video stream to the client device, along with metadata representing the modification implemented. The client device decodes the encoded representation to recover the portion of the rendered video stream and selectively performs a graphics effects operation on the recovered portion to at least partially revert the resulting graphics effects for the portion to the intended effects without the modification implemented by the server.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CLOUD STREAMING SERVICE
A method and apparatus are provided for a cloud streaming service. A cloud streaming server receives first data corresponding to media source extension (MSE) media from a media source server when a request for content is received from a user device. Then the cloud streaming server creates a first stream by transcoding the first data to a suitable format for processing at the user device, and transmits the created first stream to the user device. Further, the cloud streaming server receives second data corresponding to remaining data except the first data in the content, outputs an execution screen of the content by executing the second data, captures the outputted execution screen, and creates a second stream by encoding the captured screen.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR NAVIGATION BETWEEN SEGMENTS OF REAL TIME, ADAPTIVE AND NON-SEQUENTIALLY ASSEMBLED VIDEO
The present disclosure provides a system and method for enabling navigation to one or more discrete segments of a real time dynamic and adaptive non-linear, non-sequentially assembled video. The method includes reception of a set of preference data associated with a user from a pre-defined selection criteria and a set of user authentication data. Accordingly, the method includes fetching of one or more tagged videos related to the set of preference data. The method includes fragmentation of the one or more tagged videos into the one or more tagged fragments. Further, the method includes clustering of one or more mapped fragments in a pre-defined order of preference. Furthermore, the method includes insertion of one or more interactive navigation options in one or more regions. Also, the method includes serving of the assembled video and inserted one or more interactive navigation options to the user.
USING AUTOMATIC CONTENT RECOGNITION (ACR) TO WEIGHT SEARCH RESULTS FOR AUDIO VIDEO DISPLAY DEVICE (AVDD)
ACR is used to identify content viewed by a person watching an AVDD such as a smart TV. Content searches of multiple sources and source types may be conducted and the results arranged for presentation by weighting each item of the search result according to the ACR identifications of historical viewing.
MULTIMEDIA PLAYER DISPLAYING OPERATION PANEL DEPENDING ON CONTENTS
A digital content operating apparatus, including: a communication unit which communicates with an external device which has a display for displaying the digital content; a user operation interface which receives a user operation to control the digital content which is displayed on the external device; a display which displays either a linear content operation panel or an interactive content operation panel; and a controller which controls the user operation interface corresponding to information on the digital content which is displayed on the external device; wherein either the linear content operation panel or the interactive content operation panel is displayed alternatively as the user operation interface on the display.
INTERACTIVE VIDEO DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AND VIDEO PLAYER UTILIZING A CLIENT SERVER ARCHITECTURE
An interactive video distribution system and video player are described. A client server arrangement may be used for providing a video player and video content to a client device. The video player may display navigation images enabling navigation to specific portions of the video content by activating a corresponding navigation image. The video player may also enable the sharing of a segment of the video with other video players, enabling the video players to play the streamed segment of the video without having to play the entire video, thereby reducing network bandwidth usage. The video player may be embeddable. The server may associate searchable tags with respective video segments.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MINIMIZING OBSTRUCTION OF A MEDIA ASSET BY AN OVERLAY BY PREDICTING A PATH OF MOVEMENT OF AN OBJECT OF INTEREST OF THE MEDIA ASSET AND AVOIDING PLACEMENT OF THE OVERLAY IN THE PATH OF MOVEMENT
Systems and methods are provided herein for minimizing obstruction of a media asset by an overlay by predicting a path of movement of an object of interest of the media asset and avoiding placement of the overlay in the path of movement. To this end, a media guidance application may detect an object of interest in a first frame of a media asset, and may determine a determining a first location of the object in the first frame and a second location of the object of interest in a second frame. The media guidance application may calculate, based on the first location and the second location, a projected location of the object of interest in a third frame of the media asset, and may generate for display an overlay in a location that does not overlap with any of the first location, the second location, and the projected location.
