Video processing method, electronic device, and non-transitory computer-readable medium

A video processing method is for an electronic device including a screen. The method includes obtaining a target video segment, the target video segment being one of a plurality of video segments pre-divided according to an obtained video file scheduled for playing; configuring a video enhancement parameter for the target video segment; performing a video enhancement process on the target video segment according to the video enhancement parameter; and displaying the enhanced target video segment on the screen. An electronic device and a non-transitory computer-readable medium are also provided.

Automated video cropping

The disclosed computer-implemented method may include receiving, as an input, segmented video scenes, where each video scene includes a specified length of video content. The method may further include scanning the video scenes to identify objects within the video scene and also determining a relative importance value for the identified objects. The relative importance value may include an indication of which objects are to be included in a cropped version of the video scene. The method may also include generating a video crop that is to be applied to the video scene such that the resulting cropped version of the video scene includes those identified objects that are to be included based on the relative importance value. The method may also include applying the generated video crop to the video scene to produce the cropped version of the video scene. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

A display apparatus (10) that is an example of an image processing apparatus includes: an output unit that outputs part of an image including recommended viewpoint information as a display image to a display unit; and a transition control unit that causes the display range of the image to shift, on the basis of the positional relationship between the viewpoint position corresponding to the display image output to the display unit and the viewpoint position corresponding to the recommended viewpoint information. The output unit outputs part of the image to the display unit, on the basis of the display range that has been made to shift.

A method including projecting a 3D representation of at least one object onto at least one 2D patch; generating a geometry image, a texture image, an occupancy map and auxiliary patch information from 5 the 2D patch, wherein the auxiliary patch information includes metadata indicating whether a filtering process shall be applied on said 2D patch upon reconstruction of the 3D representation of said at least one object; and encoding the auxiliary patch information and zero or more of the following: the geometry image, the texture image and the 10 occupancy map in or along a bitstream.

Device and method for processing frames

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to device and method for processing frames. For example, a buffer of a device is arranged to store a plurality of rendered frames rendered at a frame rendering rate and a time stamp for each of rendered frames. A compositor of a device is arranged to obtain a timestamp of a synchronisation signal for synchronising the display of frames with a display refresh rate. In response to obtaining a timestamp of a synchronisation signal, a compositor is arranged to trigger access to a buffer to obtain two rendered frames having timestamps closest to a timestamp of a synchronisation signal. An interpolator of a device is arranged to generate an interpolated rendered frame for display by performing an interpolation operation using two rendered frames. An interpolation operation takes into account the difference between timestamps of each of two rendered frames and a timestamp of a synchronisation signal.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SCREEN RELATED AUDIO OBJECT REMAPPING

An apparatus for generating loudspeaker signals includes an object metadata processor configured to receive metadata, to calculate a second position of the audio object depending on the first position of the audio object and on a size of a screen if the audio object is indicated in the metadata as being screen-related, to feed the first position of the audio object as the position information into the object renderer if the audio object is indicated in the metadata as being not screen-related, and to feed the second position of the audio object as the position information into the object renderer if the audio object is indicated in the metadata as being screen-related. The apparatus further includes an object renderer configured to receive an audio object and to generate the loudspeaker signals depending on the audio object and on position information.

Both a conventional receiver and an HDR-compatible receiver well perform electro-optical conversion processing on transmission video data obtained by using an HDR opto-electronic transfer characteristic. High dynamic range opto-electronic conversion is performed on high dynamic range video data to obtain the transmission video data. Encoding processing is performed on this transmission video data to obtain a video stream. A container of a predetermined format including this video stream is transmitted. Metadata information indicating a standard dynamic range opto-electronic transfer characteristic is inserted into a layer of the video stream, and metadata information indicating a high dynamic range opto-electronic transfer characteristic is inserted into at least one of the layer of the video stream and a layer of the container.

Methods, systems, and media for modifying user interface colors are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving a video and color palette information, wherein each color of the color palette information indicates a color of an element of a user interface in which the video is to be presented; identifying a first color for the element, wherein the first color corresponds to a first portion of the video; causing the first portion of the video to be presented, wherein the element of the user interface having the first color is presented; identifying a second color for the element, wherein the second color corresponds to a second portion of the video; and modifying an appearance of the element by changing the color of the element from the first color to the second color while presenting the second portion of the video.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

An electronic device comprises: a plurality of scalers for processing respective images of a plurality of content received from a plurality of sources devices; and a processor configured to change information on whether at least one scaler of the plurality of scalers supports high dynamic range (HDR) when a request for simultaneously displaying the plurality of content is received.

Display with an appropriate luminance dynamic range is realizable on a receiving side. A gamma curve is applied to input video data having a level range from 0% to 100%*N (N: a number larger than 1) to obtain transmission video data. This transmission video data is transmitted together with auxiliary information used for converting a high-luminance level on the receiving side. A high-level side level range of the transmission video data is converted on the receiving side such that a maximum level becomes a predetermined level based on the auxiliary information received together with the transmission video data.
