The present disclosure relates to methods, devices, and systems for presentation of multimedia content. In an aspect of the present disclosure, a method includes receiving, at a processor of a mobile device, a plurality of images from a camera, at least one image of the plurality of images including an object. The method also includes displaying a camera video stream based on the plurality of images, displaying three dimensional (3D) augmented reality content in the camera video content, and displaying video content based on the 3D augmented reality content. The video content is associated with the object.

A device may be configured to render at least one spatial region of 360-degree media content, which may include two or more spatial regions. The device may include a receiver configured to receive the 360-degree media content and metadata associated with the 360-degree content. The metadata may include a classification of a respective spatial region of the 360-degree media content. The device may further include a memory configured to store a user preference and a sensor configured to detect a user movement. The device may include a processor configured to determine that the user movement is associated with a rendering of the respective spatial region. The processor may further determine whether the classification complies with the user preference and alter the rendering of the respective spatial region if the classification violates the user preference.

The subject technology receives frames of a source media content, the frames of the source media content including representations of a head and a face of a source actor. The subject technology generates sets of source pose parameters. The subject technology receives at least one target image, the at least one target image including representations of a target head and a target face of a target entity. The subject technology generates, based at least in part on the sets of source pose parameters, an output media content, each frame of the output media content includes an image of the target face in at least one frame of the output media content. The subject technology provides an online advertisement based at least in part on the output media content for display on a computing device.

Scenes in video images are identified based on image content of the video images. Regional cross sections of the video images are determined based on the scenes in the video images. Image portions of the video images in the regional cross sections are encoded into multiple video sub-streams at multiple different spatiotemporal resolutions. An overall video stream that includes the multiple video sub-streams is transmitted to a streaming client device.

Producing a privacy-protected video clip in a video management system includes retrieving a selected video clip constituting at least a portion of a stored video stream; obtaining segments of the video clip which are spaced apart in time and have a total length equal to a defined time period; combining the obtained segments of the video clip to form a background training clip; and processing the background training clip, or the separate segments, to produce a background model. The video clip is processed to produce a privacy-protected video clip, such that, for each image the video clip, the processing includes performing background subtraction, using the background model, to define foreground regions, and obscuring the defined foreground regions.

A method for generating interactive media content on a portable electronic user device is disclosed. The method includes in one or more electronic processing devices: retrieving an Edit Decision List (EDL), the EDL providing an event driven timeline for the interactive media content that defines events including: one or more segments of pre-existing media content to be used in the generation of the interactive media content; timestamps for when the one or more segments of pre-existing media content are to be introduced into the timeline and their associated duration; one or more user interactions to be used in the generation of the interactive media content; and, timestamps for when the one or more user interactions are to be introduced into the timeline and their associated duration; and, processing the EDL to generate the interactive media content in real time by: retrieving the one or more segments of pre-existing media content; recording the one or more user interactions using a sensing device of the user device; and, combining the one or more recorded user interactions with the one or more segments of pre-existing media in accordance with the event driven timeline of the EDL.

A method, system and mobile terminal for implementing multimedia playing are described, which includes that a mobile terminal sends multimedia stream data to be played to another-end mobile terminal via a connection established based on NFC technology, and the mobile terminal and the another-end mobile terminal decode the multimedia stream data to be played, and respectively play corresponding parts of the decoded multimedia stream data in accordance with the respective part playing mode. In this way, two mobile terminals can respectively playing part of a multimedia image based on NFC technology, a multimedia image can be clearly amplified and displayed via the splicing of mobile terminal screens, thereby helping a user quickly solve the problem that a mobile terminal screen is small and not good for amplifying and displaying the multimedia image.

A display apparatus includes a liquid crystal panel, and a plurality of light sources irradiating the liquid crystal panel with light. The display apparatus inserts black signals during a predetermined period within respective frame periods in a plurality of image frames. The display apparatus respectively displays signals corresponding to the respective regions in each image frame into which the black signals are inserted, in respective regions of the liquid crystal panel irradiated with light by each of the light sources, in an order along an arrangement direction of the respective regions. The display apparatus respectively irradiates the respective regions with light by the light sources corresponding thereto, in a latter period within a period in which the corresponding signals are respectively displayed in the respective regions of the liquid crystal panel. In this case, the display apparatus reduces luminance of light from the light sources corresponding to the respective regions, in an order of respectively displaying the signals in the respective regions of the liquid crystal panel, corresponding thereto.
