SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING BOOKMARK VIDEO FINGERPRINTS
20230111940 · 2023-04-13 ·

Systems and methods for replacing original media bookmarks of at least a portion of a digital media file with replacement bookmarks is described. A media fingerprint engine detects the location of the original fingerprints associated with the portion of the digital media file and a region analysis algorithm characterizes regions of media file spanning the location of the original bookmarks by data class types. The replacement bookmarks are associated with the data class types and are overwritten or otherwise are substituted for the original bookmarks. The replacement bookmarks then are subjected to a fingerprint matching algorithm that incorporates media timeline and media related metadata.

Interactive Display

Systems and methods of use are presented for selecting and displaying media content on a display where the media content is determined by user manual manipulation of the content pages of a book positioned on a book reader. The display includes a video display screen and a media player. The media player has a storage drive configured to accept and store media content, and a processor configured to access the storage drive to transmit selected media content to the video display screen when signaled by the book reader to do so. The book reader includes a plurality of sensors divided into a plurality of right side sensors and a plurality of left side sensors that are configured to detect and determine which content page of the book is currently open and displayed on the book reader. When a content page is displayed and detected, a controller signals the processor.

Touch gesture control of video playback

A video item is provided for playback at a media player executing at a user device. The media player is logically divided into multiple sections. An indication of a touch gesture made by a user with respect to a touchscreen of the user device is received. Whether the touch gesture with respect to the touchscreen of the user device qualifies as a first predetermined touch gesture is determined. The first predetermined touch gesture is within a portion of a user interface (UI) that is includes in a first section of the media player. Responsive to determining the touch gesture with respect to the touchscreen of the user device qualifies as the first predetermined gesture, the playback of the video item is moved from a first point in time to a second point in time by a predetermined amount of time.

Systems and methods for playing media assets stored on a digital video recorder

Improved technical functionality is provided to dynamically select and seamlessly play advertisements immediately before playing of a recorded program upon selection of the recorded program for playing, or upon other detected events and conditions associated with the set-top-box (STB) or user. In some embodiments, this is performed by using metadata which may be delivered to and stored on a digital video recorder (DVR) prior to recording the program, providing a technical solution to enable opportunities for additional advertisement impressions. Playing of the advertisement may also or instead occur upon the recorded program finishing playing. Thus, the technical solution provides the additional opportunity for the content creator and/or the satellite television or cable service provider to sell advertising spots in addition to those already sold for breaks within the recorded program.

Systems and methods for selecting network-connected devices to provide device functions for an event

Systems and methods are provided for selecting one or more network-connected devices to provide device functions required by an event. A media guidance application may detect an event in which a user is currently engaged. The media guidance application may identify a set of device capabilities associated with the event. The media guidance application may search, within a plurality of network-connected devices of the user, to identify one or more devices that enable functions corresponding to the set of device capabilities to be perceptible to the user, and the media guidance application may instruct the identified one or more devices to provide the functions corresponding to the set of device capabilities associated with the event.

DYNAMICALLY CREATING AND PLAYING A SCENARIO REPLICATION FOR AN ACTIVITY ON VISUAL AND AUDIO DEVICES

Provided are techniques for dynamically creating and playing a scenario replication for an activity on one or more visual and audio devices. One or more patterns and one or more contexts are stored. One or more goals are stored for a user. A current context is identified from data from a plurality of data sources. The current context is matched to a stored context of the one or more contexts. A pattern associated with the matched context is identified. A recommendation of an activity is provided based on the pattern and based on a goal of the one or more goals. A scenario replication is created with at least one of visual elements and audio elements for the recommendation. One or more visual and audio devices are identified. The scenario replication is played on the one or more visual and audio devices.

Pause playback of media content based on closed caption length and reading speed

A method, computer system, and a computer program product for playing a video recording that includes captions, wherein each caption includes a textual transcription of an audio portion of the video, a description of non-speech elements of the video, or both, is provided. The present invention may include rendering a video, identifying a first portion of the video that includes a first caption, and, in response to identifying the first portion of the video, estimating a second time period for a particular user to read and understand text in the first caption. The present invention may further include determining whether the second time period for the particular user to read and understand text in the first caption is greater than the first time period for rendering the first portion of the video. The present invention may lastly include pausing the video for a third time period.

SHUFFLE PLAY METHOD AND DEVICE

A shuffle play method and device. The method comprises: acquiring multimedia files to be played; and grouping the multimedia files and determining, according to a group, a play order of the multimedia files to be played, to form a shuffle play list; and performing play according to the obtained shuffle play list.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND OPERATING METHOD THEREFOR

An operating method of an electronic apparatus includes receiving a request to record first content; based on the first content being outputtable in multi-view, obtaining multi-view information for outputting the first content in multi-view; and storing the multi-view information together with the first content.
