SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EFFICIENT AD MANAGEMENT STORAGE FOR RECORDED ASSETS
System and method for recording network programs including targeted advertisements, including receiving a network program including program content and targeted advertisements; identifying the targeted advertisements included within the network program; removing the targeted advertisements from the network program; associating a unique Ad ID with each different targeted advertisement; storing the targeted advertisements separate from the program content at a first memory location, where each different targeted advertisement is stored only once; inserting into the network program index points identifying positions within the network program at which the targeted advertisements occur; associating a unique Ad ID with each different targeted advertisement; creating an index file associating each index point with the Ad ID of the targeted advertisement occurring at the position identified by each index point; and storing the received network program including the program content and the index points in place of the targeted advertisements at a second memory location.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR STORING USER-SPECIFIC MEDIA SEQUENCES
Methods and systems are described for storing content. The content may be divided into user-specific portions and common portions. One or more selection rules may be used to divide the content into the user-specific portion and the common portions. The one or more selection rules may be selected such that the common portion is not decodable without the user-specific portions. The user-specific portions or data indicating a location of the user-specific portion may be stored in user-specific storage. The user-specific storage may be used to determine content for playback to a user.
Systems and methods for providing video on demand in an intelligent television
An intelligent television can provide various interfaces for providing video-on-demand (VOD). The user interfaces include unique visual representations and organizations that allow the user to utilize the intelligent television more easily and more effectively. Particularly, the user interfaces pertain to the display of VOD content and better organizations thereof. Further, the user interfaces provide unique process of transitioning between the VOD content.
Graph for data interaction
The described technology is directed towards having user interface objects rendered on a client device based upon provider data of at least part of a client provider graph. The client provider graph comprises a plurality of providers (graph nodes), in which each provider has provider data corresponding to user interface object data. The data of one provider has a reference set containing one or more references (e.g., edges) that each identify another provider, thus forming the graph. Client requests for other provider data are made based upon the reference set. The other provider data is received in response to the client requests, and is maintained at the client (e.g., in a client cache) to build the client graph.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING SUBSCRIPTION DATA
A media guidance application is provided by which users can view program listings associated with programming that the user may access using other user equipment devices. The media guidance application, implemented on, for example, a remote system, may determine through communications with television equipment whether or not the television equipment is authorized to provide a particular package of television programming to be viewed by the user. For example, an online program guide application may determine whether or not television equipment allows a user to view particular channels and, based on that determination, proceed to determine what packages of programming the user subscribes to. A customized program guide may then be displayed based on what programming the user subscribes to on various systems.
Batching data requests and responses
The described technology is generally directed towards batching two or more data requests into a batch request that is sent to a data-providing entity such as a client data access layer coupled to a data service. Described is maintaining a mapping of the requests to requesting entities so that the responses to a batched request, which may be separately streamed, may be assembled into a batch response to the requesting entity. Also described is multiplexing a plurality of requests for the same data item into a single request, which may be added to a batch request, and de-multiplexing the single response into separate responses to each requesting entity.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD, WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A wireless communication method is executed by a wireless communication system including one or more wireless terminals and a wireless communication apparatus. The wireless communication apparatus generates wireless scheme schedule information, which is information related to a schedule of a slot allocated to an uplink signal and a downlink signal of a predetermined wireless scheme, generates a downlink signal to be transmitted in the slot to the wireless terminal based on the wireless scheme schedule information, and transmits a beacon signal including the wireless scheme schedule information in the slot. The wireless terminal receives the beacon signal, in the slot, acquires the wireless scheme schedule information from the beacon signal, and generates an uplink signal to be transmitted in the slot to the wireless communication apparatus, based on the wireless scheme schedule information.
DISTRIBUTED MEDIA CONTENT TRANSFER AND ACCESS MANAGEMENT
A method of managing media content on a vehicle comprises storing a media content library comprising a plurality of media content items in non-volatile data storage media disposed in the vehicle, storing access rule data in the non-volatile data storage media, establishing a connection with a remote computing device over a communication link, receiving, from the remote computing device over the communication link, an indication identifying a first subset of the media content library to be designated as active, updating the access rule data to indicate that the first subset of the media content library is designated as active, and presenting at least a portion of the first subset of the media content library on a media presentation device based at least in part on said updating.
GENERATING MEDIA CONTENT KEYWORDS BASED ON VIDEO-HOSTING WEBSITE CONTENT
Systems and methods for generating media program keywords based on a video-hosting website are disclosed herein. Control circuitry identifies, on the video-hosting website, video content items that include at least a portion of a media program. The media program has a media program identifier and the video content items have respective titles, each including one or more terms. The control circuitry identifies a term included in more than one of the titles and identifies a group of the video content items that have the term included in their title. Based on the video-hosting website, the control circuitry determines a cumulative number of rankings of the video content items within the group and generates a relevance score for the term based on the cumulative number of rankings. The control circuitry stores the term and the relevance score in a keyword database in association with the media program identifier.
Media content identification on mobile devices
A mobile device responds in real time to media content presented on a media device, such as a television. The mobile device captures temporal fragments of audio-video content on its microphone, camera, or both and generates corresponding audio-video query fingerprints. The query fingerprints are transmitted to a search server located remotely or used with a search function on the mobile device for content search and identification. Audio features are extracted and audio signal global onset detection is used for input audio frame alignment. Additional audio feature signatures are generated from local audio frame onsets, audio frame frequency domain entropy, and maximum change in the spectral coefficients. Video frames are analyzed to find a television screen in the frames, and a detected active television quadrilateral is used to generate video fingerprints to be combined with audio fingerprints for more reliable content identification.
