Method for storing a multimedia content, associated reading method and method for managing a storage space containing such a content
A method for processing an individual multimedia content by an electronic device, which includes a database containing a user list and a table of recorded individual multimedia contents, a calculation system and a storage system, the method including storing the individual content by allocating a storage space on the storage system; adding an entry relating to the individual multimedia content stored in the table of recorded individual multimedia contents; acquiring the individual multimedia content and writing to memory the individual multimedia content in the allocated storage space, and creating a table of users relating to the stored individual multimedia content, the table of users including, for each user of a sub-set of the list of users contained in the database, a context data. The method also includes performing a method for managing the storage space and/or a method for reading the multimedia content stored in the storage space.
Systems and methods for data processing, storage, and retrieval from a server
A method of selectively decrypting encrypted data may include selecting a plurality of encrypted data bits between and including a first encrypted data bit and a last encrypted data bit; for each encrypted data bit from the plurality of encrypted data bits: determining a corresponding encrypted block and a block number that contains the encrypted data bit, determining a corresponding counter for the determined block number, determining a bit position of the encrypted data bit within the determined encrypted block, selecting a counter bit at the bit position within the counter, encrypting the counter, and executing an XOR operation between the encrypted data bit and the corresponding encrypted counter bit.
System and method for media hub software updating
A system and method for automatically analyzing and managing a media hub software update. The system and method each utilize available media hub system and diagnostic information to aid in the analysis and installation of a software update. If the installation of the update is determined to require memory capacity in excess of what is currently available within the media hub, an archive and off-loading process is automatically initiated to free the required memory space during the installation process. Any off-loaded information and/or applications are then restored after the installation is complete.
DYNAMIC SCHEDULING OF CONTENT
Systems and methods are provided for recommending and dynamically scheduling content. A time when a request to consume a content item is likely to be received is identified and an identifier of the content item is displayed on a device. Prior to the identified time, an option to consume, at the identified time, the content item is also displayed on the device. In response to the option being selected, the device stops displaying the identifier of the content item until the identified time.
DISPLAY APPARATUS AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF
Provided are a display apparatus and an operating method thereof. The display apparatus includes a display, a reproducer configured to reproduce content, a memory storing one or more instructions, and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory to: obtain a characteristic of content requested to be reproduced; obtain, as a first latency threshold serving as a reference value for a latency control operation, a first value based on the obtained characteristic of the content; measure latency of the content during reproduction of the content by the reproducer; determine whether the measured latency of the content is greater than the first value; and based on determining that the measured latency of the content is greater than the first value, control the reproducer to drop at least some of frames corresponding to the content.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STORING OFFSETS OF A RECORDED PROGRAM IN A NETWORK DVR
Systems and methods are described to address shortcomings in the conventional network storage systems via novel techniques to store offsets of a recorded program in a network digital video recorder (DVR). Storing offsets of a recorded program may be beneficial to users that would like to record media content that is broadcast either prior to a start time of a program, or media content that is broadcast after an end time of a program. This feature may be useful when start times and end times of a program are variable (e.g., in the case of sporting events, or other real-time events). This feature may also be useful for recording content of interest that is scheduled for broadcast prior to a start time of or after an end time of the program.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERFORMING AN ACTION BASED ON VIEWING POSITIONS OF OTHER USERS
Systems and methods for performing an action based on viewing positions of other users are provided. Viewing progress in a media asset of each of a plurality of users is retrieved. The viewing progress of each of the plurality of users is compared to identify a maximum viewing progress that is common to each of the plurality of users. A request from a user to access the media asset is received. A current viewing progress in the media asset of the user is monitored to determine when the current viewing progress of the user matches the identified maximum viewing progress that is common to each of the plurality of users. In response to determining that the current viewing progress of the user matches the identified maximum viewing progress, a message with an option to perform an action relative to the media asset is generated for display to the user.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DYNAMICALLY OPTIMIZING CONTENT FOR CONSUMPTION ON A SCHEDULED TRIP
Systems and methods are described herein for retrieving an information file from a user profile about a scheduled trip, where access to content may be restricted and identifying, based on the consumption pattern, a first progression point before the scheduled start time and a second progression point after the scheduled end time of the scheduled trip. Based on the difference between the first and second progression points, the media guidance application causes to be stored the respective media assets on a consumption device. Then before departing for the scheduled trip, the media guidance application confirms the first progression points against the current progression point and causes to adjust the stored media assets based on a difference between the current progression point and the first progression point.

Method and apparatus for selecting among multiple tuners
A system or method selects among multiple tuners to tune a particular channel. A request is received to tune a first channel. In response to this request, a first tuner is assigned to tune the first channel. A request is received to tune a second channel. If the program tuned by the first tuner is not being recorded, the first tuner is assigned to tune the second channel. If the program tuned by the first tuner is being recorded, the second tuner is assigned to tune the second channel.
