Method and system for synchronizing playback of independent audio and video streams through a network
A method and system for synchronizing an audio signal and a video signal includes a source device receiving an audio-video signal comprising the audio signal and the video signal. The video signal has a video time stamp. The source device communicates the audio signal from the source device to a first sink device through a wireless network with a second time stamp and communicates the video signal to the second sink device with the video time stamp. The second sink device generates a synchronization (synch) signal and communicates the synch signal to the first sink device. The first sink device compares the synch signal to the second time stamp, adjusts a relative timing of the playback of the audio signal in response to comparing and generates an audible signal from the audio signal.
DECODER EQUIPMENT WITH TWO AUDIO LINKS
Decoder equipment includes a first output suitable for connecting to audio playback equipment, a second output suitable for connecting to video playback equipment, processor means configured to use a first audio link of the first output to deliver a first audio signal coming from an incoming audio/video stream received by the decoder equipment, and to use a second audio link to deliver a second audio signal associated with at least one sound generated by the decoder equipment. The first link presents first characteristics imparting a first latency to the first audio signal and the second link presents second characteristics imparting a second latency, lower than the first latency, to the second audio signal.
Systems, methods and computer-readable media for configuring receiver latency
The present disclosure is related to transmitting and receiving media channels, such as audio and video channels. These channels may be transmitted as packets from one or more transmitting devices to one or more receiving devices for playout. Certain embodiments of the present disclosure include systems, methods, and computer-readable media for determining latency of a data network for synchronised playout of received signals. Additionally, certain embodiments of the present disclosure include systems, methods, and computer-readable media for synchronising playout among devices connected to a data network.
DIGITAL TRANSPORT ADAPTER
One or more computing devices may be configured to identify information corresponding to a program change request associated with a multi-program data transmission. The information may comprise at least a link to a desired program within the multi-program data transmission. The one or more computing devices may communicate the link to the desired program to a client device over a specified time period. After the time period, the one or more computing devices may communicate the desired program to the client device using a single program data transmission. The single program data transmission may be derived from the multi-program data transmission.
System and method for state based content delivery to a client device
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device having a processing system including a processor and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations including: receiving an operational state of an audiovisual player of a client device, wherein the operational state comprises a foreground operational state or a background operational state; and sending an ad placement request comprising the operational state to a decision server for a content request for advertisement content. Other embodiments are disclosed.
LOW LATENCY WIRELESS VIRTUAL REALITY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Virtual Reality (VR) processing devices and methods are provided for transmitting user feedback information comprising at least one of user position information and user orientation information, receiving encoded audio-video (A/V) data, which is generated based on the transmitted user feedback information, separating the A/V data into video data and audio data corresponding to a portion of a next frame of a sequence of frames of the video data to be displayed, decoding the portion of a next frame of the video data and the corresponding audio data, providing the audio data for aural presentation and controlling the portion of the next frame of the video data to be displayed in synchronization with the corresponding audio data.
Video processing system using ring buffer and racing-mode ring buffer access control scheme
A video processing system includes a storage device, a receiving circuit, an audio/video demultiplexing circuit, a video decoder, and a display engine. The storage device includes a data buffer, a bitstream buffer, and a display buffer. An output of the receiving circuit is written into the data buffer. An input of the audio/video demultiplexing circuit is read from the data buffer, and an output of the audio/video demultiplexing circuit is written into the bitstream buffer. An input of the video decoder is read from the bitstream buffer, and an output of the video decoder is written into the display buffer. An input of the display engine is read from the display buffer. Each of the data buffer, the bitstream buffer, and the display buffer is a ring buffer.
Media playback apparatus and method for synchronously reproducing video and audio on a web browser
A media playback apparatus and a method for synchronously reproducing video and audio on a web browser are provided. In the media playback apparatus, audio is buffered to be outputted at a time point at which video is outputted, thereby synchronizing the outputs of video and audio. The media playback apparatus may output the video in synchronization with the audio even when video and audio are decoded by different decoders. Therefore, it is possible to implement a decoder separately from a decoder embedded in a web browser in a non-plug-in environment, thereby reducing the dependency on the codec format of the media.
Method and apparatus for selection of content from a stream of data
A main stream contains successive content elements of video and/or audio information that encode video and/or audio information at a first data rate. A computation circuit (144) computes main fingerprints from the successive content elements. A reference stream is received having a second data rate lower than the first data rate. The reference stream defines a sequence of the reference fingerprints. A comparator unit (144) compares the main fingerprints with the reference fingerprints. The main stream is monitored for the presence of inserted content elements between original content elements, where the original content elements have main fingerprints that match successive reference fingerprints and the inserted content elements have main fingerprints that do not match reference fingerprints. Rendering of inserted content elements to be skipped. In an embodiment when more than one content element matches only one is rendered. In another embodiment matching is used to control zapping to or from the main stream. In another embodiment matching is used to control linking of separately received mark-up information such as subtitles to points in the main stream.
