Method and system for preselecting multimedia content

A method and system for remote control at a client of a multimedia content distribution network (MCDN) enables a user to add desired multimedia program listings to a user collection. The user collection may be saved at an MCDN server for subsequent retrieval. Multimedia programs corresponding to the listings may be stored in a user collection cache. The user may easily select the listings in a user collection for presentation at an MCDN client. The multimedia programs may be provided from a plurality of content sources, including external content providers and the Internet.

Method for transmitting a broadcast service, method for receiving a broadcast service, and apparatus for receiving a broadcast service

A method to receive a broadcast includes parsing a first trigger for obtaining a first identifier for identifying a targeted Triggered Declarative Object (TDO), and a preparation trigger time for the targeted TDO; parsing a second trigger for obtaining an activation time and a termination time for the targeted TDO; activating the targeted TDO corresponding to the first identifier on a background, when a receiving time of the preparation trigger is before the preparation trigger time, immediately activating the targeted TDO corresponding to the first identifier on the background, when the receiving time of the preparation trigger is after the preparation trigger time; changing a state of the targeted TDO to a foreground, when a current system time is after the activation time; and terminating the targeted TDO, when the current system time is after the termination time.

System for addressing on-demand TV program content on TV services platform of a digital TV services provider

Video content is uploaded via the Internet to a video-on-demand (VOD) server identified by a title and a hierarchical address of categories and subcategories for categorizing the title. The VOD server converts and stores the video content at a storage address in a video content database linked to the title. The title is listed in a location of an electronic program guide (EPG) using the same categories and subcategories as in its hierarchical address. Any TV subscriber can access the EPG and navigate through its categories and subcategories to find a title for viewing on the TV. This can enable many new blogging or podcasting-like programs by popular “Hosts” to be self-published on the Internet and readily navigated for display on TV. The EPG can also store TV program addresses as bookmarks and allow them to be shared with other subscribers or with friends and contacts online by sending to their email addresses.

A data generation method is for generating video data that covers a second luminance dynamic range wider than a first luminance dynamic range and has reproduction compatibility with a first device that does not support reproduction of video having the second luminance dynamic range and supports reproduction of video having the first luminance dynamic range, and includes: generating a video signal to be included in the video data using a second OETF; storing, into VUI in the video data, first transfer function information for identifying a first OETF to be referred to by the first device when the first device decodes the video data; and storing, into SEI in the video data, second transfer function information for identifying a second OETF to be referred to by a second device supporting reproduction of video having the second luminance dynamic range when the second device decodes the video data.

RECEIVER, RECEPTION METHOD, TRANSMITTER, AND TRANSMISSION METHOD

The present technology relates to a receiver for efficiently acquiring a component configuring a service, a reception method, a transmitter, and a transmission method. The receiver acquires first signaling data distributed on a broadcast wave of digital broadcasting in an IP transmission system, acquires broadcast signaling data as second signaling data, acquires communication signaling data as the second signaling data when flag information included in the broadcast signaling data indicates that the communication signaling data is provided from a server over the Internet together with the broadcast signaling data, and connects to a stream of a broadcast component or a stream of a communication component thereby to control reproduction of the component on the basis of at least one of the broadcast signaling data and the communication signaling data. The present technology is applicable to TV receivers, for example.

Receiving system and method of processing data

A receiving system that can receive and process 3D images and a data processing method of the same are disclosed. The receiving system includes an image receiving unit and a display unit. The image receiving unit receives a 3-dimensions (3D) image and system information including additional information of the 3D image (i.e., additional 3D image information), generates 3D signaling information based upon the additional 3D image information included in the system information, and transmits the generated 3D signaling information along with the 3D image through a digital interface. And, the display unit receives the 3D signaling information along with the 3D image through the digital interface, formats the 3D image based upon the receiving 3D signaling information, and displays the formatted 3D image.

Method for Broadcast Service Signaling

Systems, methods, and devices enable a receiver device to determine completeness of low level signaling (LLS) tables received via broadcast transmissions. In various embodiments, broadcast service signaling may include determining whether a received LLS table is a directory table identifying each of a complete set of LLS tables, parsing the directory table, determining whether the directory table is confirmed based at least in part on a digital signature in the directory table, determining whether a complete set of LLS tables is received based at least in part on the identification of each of the complete set of LLS tables in the directory table, and determining available services based at least in part on the complete set of LLS tables before an expiration a repetition time period after receiving the directory table.

Different applications are activated for respective multiple programs. A component demultiplexing unit (34) that receives an MH-AIT (141) indicating an application corresponding to each of packages, a combining unit (38) and an audio decoding unit (36) that reproduce one of the packages, and a data broadcasting control unit (37) that controls an application corresponding to a package, which is being reproduced, by referring to the MH-AIT (141) are included.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING MOVING PICTURE EXPERTS GROUP (MPEG)-2 TRANSPORT STREAM (TS) BROADCASTING DATA
20170257468 · 2017-09-07 ·

An apparatus and method for transmitting moving picture experts group (MPEG)-2 transport stream (TS) broadcasting data for a broadcasting service based on a physical layer transmission standard defined in a Data over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) 3.1. The apparatus includes a converter configured to receive an input of broadcasting data including a plurality of MPEG-2 TS packets and to convert the broadcasting data to a first file with a forward error correction (FEC) codeword structure, and an encoder configured to encode the first file.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, REPRODUCTION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND REPRODUCTION PROCESSING METHOD

Provided are an information processing apparatus, a reproduction processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a reproduction processing method that enable a client device to efficiently select a content configuration. A preprocessing unit generates content configuration selection information, with respect to one or a plurality of contents, for determining whether or not each of the contents is reproducible, each of the contents having a content configuration including one or more three-dimensional objects and space arrangement information therefor to represent a virtual space. A file generation unit generates a file including data about the virtual space and the content configuration selection information.
