Transport and acquisition of DRM-related information
A reception apparatus includes receiver and processing circuitry. The receiving circuitry is configured to receive a broadcast stream. The processing circuitry is configured to extract a service list table (SLT) from the broadcast stream. The SLT includes service information for each of a plurality of services in the broadcast stream. The processing circuitry is configured to determine whether the broadcast stream includes a digital rights management (DRM) service that is supported by the reception apparatus based on service category information in the service information for the plurality of services in the broadcast stream. The processing circuitry is configured to acquire DRM-related information, which is associated with the reception apparatus and delivered in the DRM service, based on a determination that the broadcast stream includes the DRM service that is supported by the reception apparatus.
Transmission device, transmission method, reception de-vice, and reception method
The reception side can easily acquire at least function enhancement information inside a codec. Image data of each picture of a base layer is encoded to generate a first encoded stream, and image data of each picture of an enhanced layer is encoded to generate a second encoded stream. The first encoded stream and the second encoded stream are transmitted. Function enhancement information including at least function enhancement information inside a codec is transmitted outside the encoded stream. For example, the function enhancement information further includes function enhancement information outside the codec.
MULTIMEDIA PLAYER DISPLAYING OPERATION PANEL DEPENDING ON CONTENTS
A digital content operating apparatus, including: a communication unit which communicates with an external device which has a display for displaying the digital content; a user operation interface which receives a user operation to control the digital content which is displayed on the external device; a display which displays either a linear content operation panel or an interactive content operation panel; and a controller which controls the user operation interface corresponding to information on the digital content which is displayed on the external device; wherein either the linear content operation panel or the interactive content operation panel is displayed alternatively as the user operation interface on the display.
Broadcasting signal transmission device, broadcasting signal reception device, and method for transmitting/receiving broadcasting signal using same
Disclosed is a broadcasting signal transmission device, a broadcasting signal reception device, and a method for transmitting/receiving a broadcasting signal using same. The method for receiving the broadcasting signal comprises the following steps: receiving the broadcasting signal, which includes a transmission frame, wherein the transmission frame includes a plurality of PLPs, which transmit components that constitute a broadcasting service, first signaling information and second signaling information, which include the signaling information of the plurality of PLPs, a first preamble signal, which has been signaled with a preamble format, and a second preamble signal, which has been signaled with pilot pattern information, wherein one of the plurality of PLPs is a base PLP, which includes a program number that corresponds to the broadcasting service and program map table information, which has been signaled with identifying information for each of the PLPs; demodulating the broadcasting signal based on the first and the second preamble signals; FEC decoding the demodulated broadcasting signal; and identifying a PLP group that includes the plurality of PLP from the FEC decoded broadcasting signal based on the first and the second signaling information, decoding at least one PLP of the identified PLP group, and providing the broadcasting service.
Transmission device, transmission method, reception device, reception method, display device, and display method
A transmission device including circuitry is provided. The circuitry is configured to apply photoelectric conversion characteristics to high dynamic range video data to obtain transmission video data. The circuitry is configured to transmit a container including a video stream obtained by encoding the transmission video data. The circuitry is configured to insert type information to designate the type of conversion characteristics corresponding to the applied photoelectric conversion characteristics for photoelectric conversion of the transmission video data into a layer of the video stream and/or a layer of the container. The type of the conversion characteristics designated by the type information is determined regardless of luminance of a display.
Broadcast signal transmission device, broadcast signal receiving device, broadcast signal transmission method and broadcast signal receiving method
An apparatus for transmitting a broadcast signal includes a processor configured to format a plurality of Internet Protocol (IP) packets to output one or more Physical Layer Pipes (PLPs). Further, the plurality of IP packets includes signaling information for listing broadcast service, a content component for a broadcast service and service signaling information, the service signaling information including format information representing a payload format of an object; and a time interleaver configured to time interleave data in a PLP based on a Time Interleaving (TI) block. In addition, the TI block including data FEC blocks, and a number of the data FEC blocks is equal to a difference between a maximum value for the TI block and a number of virtual FEC blocks; and a transmitter configured to transmit the broadcast signal including the time interleaved data. Further, the signaling information is transmitted at an IP packet level, and the service signaling information is transmitted through transport packets included in the IP packets.
Reducing latency during service change and improving robustness in advanced television systems committee (ATSC) 3.0 system
Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. Signaling indicates where the first few segments of a changed-to broadcast service can be obtained on the broadband network. Segments not including the live edge segments are downloaded and played immediately to reduce perceived latency in the service change until the broadcast segments arrive for presentation.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING MEDIA DATA ACROSS MULTIPLE FREQUENCY BANDS
A transmission device is disclosed. The transmission device comprises a signal generation unit for generating a broadcast signal including a service, and a transmission unit for transmitting the broadcast signal through at least one RF channel. A broadcast stream transmitted through the RF channel includes signaling for the service, the signaling for the service including information indicating whether the service is transmitted through a plurality of RF channels, and information indicating whether the broadcast stream transmitted through the RF channel contains an essential portion of the service.
LOW-LATENCY CONTENT DELIVERY OVER A PUBLIC NETWORK
A transcoding engine communicatively coupled to a broadcast source receiver for receiving the broadcast stream, decoding the broadcast stream, extracting and storing the PSIP tables from the broadcast stream and inserting metadata into the decoded broadcast stream, encoding the broadcast stream and the metadata, and attaching the PSIP tables to the encoded broadcast stream. A listener server device is communicatively coupled to the transcoding engine for receiving the encoded broadcast stream and establishing a low-latency tunnel with a caller client over a public internet and providing the encoded broadcast stream to the caller client through the low-latency tunnel.
