Providing television broadcasts over a managed network and interactive content over an unmanaged network to a client device
A client device receives a broadcast content signal containing an interactive identifier over a managed network at a client device. The interactive identifier may be a trigger that is included in a header or embedded within the digital video data. The trigger may have a temporal component, wherein the trigger can expire after a certain period of time. In response to identification of the trigger, the client device sends a user request for interactive content over an unmanaged network. For example, the managed network may be a one-way satellite television network, IP-television network or cable television network and the unmanaged network may be the Internet. The client device switches between receiving data from the managed network to receiving data from the unmanaged network.
System for distributing auto-stereoscopic images
A system for distributing auto-stereoscopic images, a parallax blocking mask and methods for producing a parallax blocking mask. A parallax blocking mask is provided as an “add-on” for an existing image display device having a flat panel type display screen. The mask is tailored to the needs of the existing device and delivered to a remote user of the display device. The user mounts the mask to the display device so that the mask overlies the display screen. 3D content in the form of composite stereoscopic images derived from one or more stereoscopic image pairs, and application software, are downloaded to the display device over the Internet, and the application software interleaves the composite stereoscopic images for display on the display screen while the mask is in place. Use of a parallax blocking mask having variable edge transitions, a duty cycle less than fifty percent, or both, is disclosed.
Method and device, equipment, and storage medium for data processing
A data processing method is provided. The method includes receiving a single aggregated data stream from a data aggregation device. The aggregated data stream includes multiple data packets captured by multiple video capture devices respectively, and each data packet has an identifier of the video capture device that captures the data packet. The method further includes determining multiple videos associated with the multiple video capture devices from the aggregated data stream based on the identifiers. Each video includes data packets with the same identifier.

Embodiments of the invention are directed to a computer-implemented method that includes using a reinforcement learning (RL) system to generate a first set of displayed region candidates based on inputs received from online users while watching video. A recommendation system is used to rank the first set of displayed region candidates based on inputs received from a local user watching video. The recommendation system is further used to select a first highest ranked one of the first set of displayed region candidates. Based on the first highest ranked one of the first set of displayed region candidates, a first section of a first raw video frame is fetched that matches the first highest ranked one of the first set of displayed candidate regions, wherein the first section of the first raw video frame includes a first predicted display region of the video frame.

Video channel change system
A video channel change system may include one or more processors and a memory. The one or more processors may receive first packets including first video frames associated with a first video channel and second packets including second video frames associated with a second video channel. The one or more processors may decode the first packets and display the first video frames while buffering, in a buffer, the second packets. The one or more processors may determine that a packet of the second packets includes a random access point without decoding the packet, discard the second packets from the buffer that were received prior to the packet, buffer additional second packets received subsequent to the packet, and decode the second packets stored in the buffer and display the second video frames included therein, in response to a request to change from the first video channel to the second video channel.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRANSPORTATION OF MULTIPLE CONSTANT BITRATE DATA STREAMS
Systems and methods are provided for transparently transmitting multiple constant bitrate (CBR) data streams over a packet network with reduced delay. Example embodiments provide packetizers and depacketizers for multiplexing and demultiplexing multiple common public radio interface (CPRI) data streams for transport between remote units and baseband units over packet networks. The systems and methods disclosed herein use time-division-multiplexing to map multiple CBR clients directly into a packet such that each CBR client can be recovered at the destination with its original clock and with information that allows its residence time in the packet domain to be calculated. The systems and methods disclosed herein allow packet based networks, such as the existing Packet Transport Network (PTN), to be used for C-RAN fronthaul applications with strict end-to-end delay requirements.

A modular multimedia platform includes a chassis into which a variety of modular input/output units, referred to as ports, may be inserted. An encoding device evaluates a plurality of processing and/or post-processing algorithms and/or methods to be applied to a video stream, and signals a selected method, algorithm, class or category of methods/algorithms either in an encoded bitstream or as side information related to the encoded bitstream. A decoding device or post-processor utilizes the signaled algorithm or selects an algorithm/method based on the signaled method or algorithm. The selection is based, for example, on availability of the algorithm/method at the decoder/post-processor and/or cost of implementation. The video stream may comprise, for example, downsampled multiplexed stereoscopic images and the selected algorithm may include any of upconversion and/or error correction techniques that contribute to a restoration of the downsampled images.
