APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRANSCEIVING BROADCAST SIGNAL
A method for transmitting a broadcast signal according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises generating service layer signaling information for discovery and acquisition of a broadcast service and a content component of the broadcast service; generating service list information including for service list building and discovery of the service layer signaling information; and physical layer processing of the service list information, service layer signaling information, and content component.
Apparatus, method, and computer program product for presenting an interactive programming guide
Apparatuses, methods, and computer program products for presenting an interactive programming guide are provided. An embodiment may include providing an apparatus configured to deliver media programs and an interactive programming guide to a monitor to be viewed by a user. The interactive programming guide may list channels and media programs available to the user. The apparatus may be configured to filter the interactive programming guide by limiting the channels and media programs listed in the interactive programming guide based on one or more attributes of the media programs. The user may be able to choose the attributes to be used as the filter either through a current media program being watched by the user or through the interactive programming guide. The attributes may be identified through metadata associated with the media programs.
Systems and methods for blending interactive applications with television programs
Object selection reward data, including rewards for viewer selection of objects of interest in presented media content of a video stream may be electronically communicated to the user automatically when the user electronically selects the object of interest as it is shown in the screen. Provided is improved functionality to activate an image in the video stream into an object that then can be selectable or become a part of an application running on a receiving device such as a set-top box or other media device. The received video may or may not be taken over by the application running on the set-top box. The video scaling can be preserved, and a part of the application. Alternatively, the whole of the visible video screen may not be a part of the application.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR IMPLEMENTING DYNAMIC PROGRAM GUIDES ON MOBILE DEVICES
Mechanisms are provided for allowing a mobile device to dynamically obtain program guide data. A mobile device having the capability of playing media streams is configurable to dynamically request program guide structure information followed by program guide content information. In one example, the program guide structure information allows a user to begin navigating the program guide data in an active and dynamic manner. Program guide content information including data such as program titles, times, icons, and links are then downloaded and displayed as needed. Potentially limitless amounts of program guide data can be provided on a mobile device. Program guide content information can be provided in a generic manner while allowing user layout customization. Program guide information can also be preemptively provided to a mobile device based on a variety of criteria.
Systems and Methods for Broadcasting Data Contents Related to Media Contents Using a Media Device
There is provided a system including a display, a wireless communication element, a non-transitory memory storing an executable code, and a hardware processor executing the executable code to receive an input signal including a media content and a data content associated with the media content, extract the data content from the input signal, display the media content on the display, and transmit the data content of the input signal to a user device using the wireless communication element.
VIDEO RECEPTION METHOD, VIDEO TRANSMISSION METHOD, VIDEO RECEPTION APPARATUS, AND VIDEO TRANSMISSION APPARATUS
Provided is a video reception method performed by a video reception apparatus including a display. The video reception method includes: receiving a reception signal multiplexed from video data and audio data; outputting, as first transfer characteristics information, transfer characteristics obtained by demultiplexing the reception signal; outputting, as second transfer characteristics information, transfer characteristics obtained by decoding the video data, the second transfer characteristics information being information for specifying, at frame accuracy, a transfer function corresponding to a luminance dynamic range of the video data; and displaying the video data while controlling a luminance dynamic range of the display at frame accuracy according to the second transfer characteristics information.
Generic indication of adaptation paths for scalable multimedia
A file format structure for use with scalable video coding systems and methods, where a rate share operation box indicates which adaptation operation points for coded media are available in a file. The rate share operation box can include a characterization of the adaptation result for each adaptation operation point. In addition, the rate share operation box can include an identifier that indicates which algorithm was used in generating each adaptation operation point.
Systems and methods for interrupted program recording
Program recording systems and methods are operable to adjust recording times of a program of interest in response to an occurrence of an interrupting program that alters the scheduled recording times of the program of interest. An exemplary embodiment receives an unscheduled program flag (UPF) corresponding to an occurrence of an unscheduled program; adjusts at least one of a scheduled recording start time associated with the program of interest to an updated record start time and a scheduled recording end time associated with the program of interest to an updated record end time in response to receiving the UPF; and records the program of interest based upon at least one of the updated record start time and the updated record end time.
Digital television network structure and user terminal
This invention discloses a digital TV broadcast system coordinated with a broadband communication network, an information transmission network in which the broadcast system is applied, a digital TV heterogeneous network architecture, and a client terminal used in each of the above network systems. The various broadcast system architectures of the invention adopt the design concept of heterogeneous network which integrates a broadcast network with other networks, for example, a communication network, the Internet and the like, to form a heterogeneous network architecture coordinating various networks. Meanwhile, the usage in bad conditions are taken into account, and a broadcast TV system which enables uplink transmission by using a broadcast link is designed. The terminal of the invention is a terminal applicable in these heterogeneous network architectures, is capable of receiving signals transmitted from various networks, and can enable flexible receiving and access modes with a series of control means. The network system and client terminal of the invention can achieve an optimized allocation of network resources, save spectrum resources, and enable optimized transmission and management of information resources.
VIDEO PLAY-BASED INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND SYSTEM, CLIENT TERMINAL AND SERVER
A video play-based information processing method is realized with a multimedia information processing system, a first client and server for video play, a computer storage medium, and a server used for video play. The method includes: receiving a video content request transmitted by a first client, obtaining a video content requested by the first client, and transmitting the video content to the first client; and during transmission of the video content, transmitting first information associated with the video content and render information of the first information to the first client, for the first client to display the first information associated with the video content via a play interface during playing of the video content.
