Geolocationing system and method for use of same
A geolocationing system and method for providing awareness in a multi-space environment, such as a hospitality environment or educational environment, are presented. In one embodiment of the geolocationing system, a vertical and horizontal array of gateway devices is provided. Each gateway device includes a gateway device identification providing an accurately-known fixed location within the multi-space environment. Each gateway device includes a wireless transceiver that receives a beacon signal from a proximate wireless-enabled personal locator device. The gateway devices, in turn, send gateway signals to a server, which determines an estimated location of the wireless-enabled personal locator device.

An electronic device and method of operating the electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a housing, a first connector configured to be exposed to outside of the housing and include a first number of pins, a second connector configured to be exposed to the outside of the housing and include a second number of pins, and a circuit configured to provide an electrical connection between the first number of pins and the second number of pins, wherein the first number is different from the second number, and wherein, when the first connector is connected with a first external electronic device and the second connector is connected with a second external electronic device, the circuit is configured to receive analog identification (ID) information through at least one pin among the first number of pins, and generate digital ID information at least partially based on the analog ID information so as to provide the digital ID information to at least one of the second number of pins.

A screen casting method is applied to a source device having a display and a speaker. The screen casting method includes receiving first data and decoding the first data, displaying the decoded first data through the display and/or outputting the decoded first data through the speaker, receiving text information from the server and parsing the text information, and displaying the parsed text information through the display, where the text information is associated with the first data. A first operation of performing screen casting to a target device is detected, and in response to the first operation, sending a download address of the first data and a download address of the text information to the target device.

The electronic apparatus includes: a communicator; a memory storing one or more instructions; and a processor configured to control the electronic apparatus by executing the one or more instructions to: collect peripheral device information based on a message received from a peripheral device, by using a first device discovery protocol and a second device discovery protocol; transmit the peripheral device information to a server through the communicator; and receive a home network device list of the electronic apparatus from the server through the communicator, the home network device list being generated by the server based on the peripheral device information.

Systems and methods described herein may provide a system that enables game play or other application sessions from a set of candidate game hosts and environments to consumption devices of a user's choice while the user moves about their home between the different environments. The system may employ methods to determine where a user is located within the home, availability and selection of candidate game hosting and target environments, homing and direction of related I/O and audio-visual (AV) content for consumption. The solution accommodates multiple users simultaneously within the home, whether in single player, multiplayer using the same screen, or multiplayer using separate screen games. The solution may configure AV and input/output (I/O) such that multiple users can consume one or multiple games in the home simultaneously, whether in separate locations or when seated together in front of the same consumption device.
Thermostat and system and method for use of same
A thermostat and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, multiple wireless transceivers are located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes a processor and memory. To improve convenience, the thermostat may establish a pairing with a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device having a display. Virtual remote control functionality for various amenities may then be provided. To improve safety, the thermostat may be incorporated into a geolocation and safety network.

A broadcast receiving apparatus includes: a digital broadcast receiver configured to receive digital broadcasting in which contents are transmitted; a network transceiver configured to execute network communication; a data string converter configured to perform a mixing process for creating a new coded data string based on a coded data string of the received contents and a coded data string acquired by the network transceiver; a digital interface configured to output the contents to external equipment; and a controller configured to determine a state of the network communication of the external equipment. The state of the network communication of the external equipment includes a first state in which the network communication is in a communicable state and a second state in which the network communication is in an uncommunicable state. In accordance with the determined state of the network communication, the digital interface performs three types of output operations.
