Packager for segmenter fluidity
Embodiments provide for methods, computer program products, and systems to improve media playback comprising receiving a variant stream, identifying respective maximum segment durations for a plurality of different types of client devices that will play media content contained in the variant stream, generating, using the variant stream, a respective playlist for each of the plurality of different types of client devices, wherein the respective playlists each contain different maximum segment durations, and delivering the respective playlists to at least one of the plurality of different types of client devices via a distribution network.
APPARATUS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BUFFERING OF MEDIA CONTENT
Media content presentation systems and methods are operable to present media content received by a media device, wherein the media device comprises a plurality of tuner systems. An exemplary embodiment tunes the plurality of tuners to receive different broadcasting media content streams each comprising a streaming media content event; communicates the streaming media content events from the receiving tuner to a corresponding tuner buffer of the tuner system; and stores a portion of the streaming media content events into the corresponding tuner buffers. When a user selection is received for presentation of one of the streaming media content events, the selected one of the streaming media content events are presented to a user of the media device.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING MEDIA SERVICE
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. According to embodiment, the method includes receiving, from a server, an SD based on URL information obtained from an AR/MR application, processing the SD, configuring at least one media buffer pipeline for a media object of a scene, based on the processed SD, and establishing transport sessions for components of the media object.
Pseudo seamless switching method, device and media for web playing different video sources
The present invention provides a method, a device and a computer-readable medium for a pseudo seamless switch between different video sources and belongs to a field of the Internet technology. According to the method, a device and a computer-readable medium for a pseudo seamless switch between different video sources of the present invention, when a video source needs to be switched, the Web browser first establishes a target video source playback instance; determines a synchronization duration based on a playing state of an original video source and a network state; after the synchronization duration, the Web browser switches to the target video source playback instance to achieve seamless switching between various video sources, so as to effectively avoid blocking during playback and greatly improve user experience. And the method, device and computer-readable medium for a pseudo seamless switch between different video sources of the present invention have the advantages of simple implementation, low application cost and wide application range.
System and method for automatic encoder adjustment based on transport data
A system and method for transmission of a video stream are provided. The system may include: an encoder adapted to generate a video stream comprising a plurality of encoded frames, encoded according to at least one encoding parameter; a comparator in communication with the encoder, the comparator adapted to compare encoded frames of the plurality of encoded frames with input frames to determine a fitness metric reflective of visual quality of the encoded frames; and a controller in communication with the comparator, the controller adapted to adjust the at least one encoding parameter based on the fitness metric.
Media presentation description
A method for indicating repeat occurrences of advertisements in media content may include one or more of the following. The method may include inserting a first descriptor element for a media content in a media presentation description (MPD) associated with the media content. The method may include inserting a second descriptor element for a repeat occurrence of the media content in the MPD. The second descriptor element may indicate that, during the repeat occurrence of the media content, the media content be presented from the beginning.
System and method for pushing scheduled content to optimize network bandwidth
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system of a media server determines a number of media content playout periods in a media program to be presented at a client device, obtains a media content item for presentation during a playout period, and transmits the media content item for storage in a client device cache prior to presentation of the media program. The method also includes transmitting to the client device a time stamp associated with the transmitting of the media content item, and transmitting an instruction to the client device to perform buffering of streaming media during the playout period. The client device also transmits a first message indicating that the transmitting of the media content item has been performed, and a second message indicating that the presenting of the media content item has been completed. Other embodiments are disclosed.
SYNCHRONIZATION OF A VSYNC SIGNAL OF A FIRST DEVICE TO A VSYNC SIGNAL OF A SECOND DEVICE
A method is disclosed including setting, at a server, a server VSYNC signal to a server VSYNC frequency. The server VSYNC signal corresponding to generation of video frames during frame periods for the server VSYNC frequency. The method including setting, at a client, a client VSYNC signal to a client VSYNC frequency. The method including sending compressed video frames from the server to the client over a network using the server VSYNC signal, wherein the compressed video frames are based on the generated video frames. The method including decoding and displaying, at the client, the compressed video frames. The method including analyzing the timing of one or more client operations to adjust the relative timing between the server VSYNC signal and the client VSYNC signal, as the client receives the compressed video frames.
Progressive increase in multimedia streaming quality
A computer-implemented includes streaming a first segment of multimedia data to a buffer on a first computing device at a first bitrate, wherein the first segment includes a first set of video frames encoded at a first resolution. The computer-implemented method further includes streaming a second segment of the multimedia data to the buffer on the first computing device at a second bitrate, wherein the second segment includes a second set of video frames encoded at a second resolution. The computer-implemented method further includes determining that a first predetermined threshold is reached. The computer-implemented method further includes streaming, in response to determining that the first predetermined threshold is reached, a third segment of multimedia data to the buffer on the first computing device, wherein the third segment includes a first set of pixels that are logically related to the second set of video frames of the second segment.
