Fragmenting media content
Systems and methods relating to fragmenting content based on metadata are disclosed. In one embodiment, metadata is obtained from data that is accessible from an interface. A content descriptor, based on at least a portion of the metadata, may be utilized to determine fragment size. The content descriptor value may be derived from multiple forms of metadata, such as for example, genre, sub-genre, presence of live media, and combinations thereof. The fragments may be either virtual or physically discrete segments or files. In one aspect, the value may be the sole basis for determining the fragment lengths. In another aspect of the embodiment, the division of the content is conducted such that each resultant fragment comprises a single frame type.
VIDEO STREAM PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM
Provided are a video stream processing method and apparatus, an electronic device and a computer-readable medium, which relate to the field of Internet technology. An exemplary method includes: storing a video frame in an original video stream in a first buffer area by calling a video stream processing interface of a video stream processing tool; processing the video frame in the first buffer area by means of a video frame processing model to obtain a processed video frame; and on the basis of the processed video frame, generating a standard video stream corresponding to the original video stream. By means of the embodiments of the this application, the software complexity of video stream processing is effectively reduced, and the speed of video stream processing is effectively improved.
System for jitter recovery from a transcoder
A system for transcoding a digital video stream using a transcoder includes receiving a digital video stream that includes an input video stream and extracting a first set of presentation time stamps from the input video stream which are stored in a table. The system transcodes the input video stream including the first set of presentation time stamps from an initial set of characteristics to a modified set of characteristics including a second set of presentation time stamps that are different from the first set of presentation time stamps. The system processes the second set of presentation time stamps of the transcoded video stream to determine if the second presentation time stamps include jitter, and based upon determining the second set of presentation time stamps include jitter modifying the second set of presentation time stamps based upon the first set of presentation time stamps in the table.
Packet processing of streaming content in a communications network
Aspects of present disclosure include devices within a transmission path of streamed content forwarding received data packets of the stream to the next device or “hop” in the path prior to buffering the data packet at the device. In this method, typical buffering of the data stream may therefore occur at the destination device for presentation at a consuming device, while the devices along the transmission path may transmit a received packet before buffering. Further, devices along the path may also buffer the content stream after forwarding to fill subsequent requests for dropped data packets of the content stream. Also, in response to receiving the request for the content stream, a device may first transmit a portion of the contents of the gateway buffer to the requesting device to fill a respective buffer at the receiving device.
Delay control method, delay control apparatus, terminal device and storage medium
Disclosed are a delay control method, a delay control apparatus, a terminal device and a storage medium. The delay control method comprises: initializing a cached data amount, and setting an initial delay threshold value; acquiring real-time cached data of a client, and determining a network status of the client according to same; and adjusting the current delay threshold value according to the network status. According to the delay control method, a network status of a user end is determined according to cached data of the user end, and a delay time is adjusted, so that in a large-scale live broadcast scenario, a player can dynamically control, according to the network status of each user, a delay time of each user end in real time, and improve the viewing experience of user.
INTELLIGENT DISPLAY OF CONTENT BASED ON EVENT MONITORING
Systems and methods for displaying content based on event monitoring are disclosed herein. A computing device plays a delayed portion of a live content stream communicated to the computing device via a communication network. The computing device detects an event in the live content stream and determines a rank of the event. Based on the rank of the event, the computing device determines whether to play the event instead of the delayed portion of the live content stream. In response to determining to play the event, the computing device plays the event instead of the delayed portion of the live content stream.
Content Delivery
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for a user device controlling a playback buffer to reduce latency in a service change.
ENCODER FOR ENCODING INFORMATION OF SUB-BITSTREAMS HAVING MUTUALLY DIFFERENT FRAME RATES
An encoder includes circuitry, and memory coupled to the circuitry. The circuitry, in operation, for each of a plurality of sub-bitstreams having mutually different frame rates, encodes identification information into a header of a bitstream including the plurality of sub-bitstreams, the identification information indicating a temporal ID that is an identifier of a temporal layer related to a temporal scalability and corresponds to the sub-bitstream, and encodes level information indicating a conformance level of the sub-bitstream.
PACKAGER FOR SEGMENTER FLUIDITY
Embodiments provide for methods, computer program products, and systems to improve media playback comprising receiving a variant stream, identifying respective maximum segment durations for a plurality of different types of client devices that will play media content contained in the variant stream, generating, using the variant stream, a respective playlist for each of the plurality of different types of client devices, wherein the respective playlists each contain different maximum segment durations, and delivering the respective playlists to at least one of the plurality of different types of client devices via a distribution network.
ADAPTIVE VIDEO SLEW RATE FOR VIDEO DELIVERY
Systems and methods for adaptively adjusting a slew rate of a dejitter buffer in a remote device in a distributed access architecture. The slew rate may be adjusted based on measurements of a fullness state of a buffer made over time. The measurements may be used to calculate a frequency offset value between the rate at which data leaves the buffer relative to the rate at which data enters the buffer and/or used to calculate a current working depth of the buffer. The adaptive slew rate adjustments may be based on the frequency offset value and/or the current working depth.
