Systems and methods for transcoding and place shifting media content
A set-top box (STB), digital video recorder (DVR), video player or other host device receives and interacts with a transcode module to provide enhanced transcoding capabilities that may be useful in placeshifting or other applications. The transcode module includes a host interface that couples to and communicates with the host device. The transcode module also includes a processor that receives an encrypted media stream from the host device via the bus interface, decrypts the encrypted media stream, transcodes the encrypted media stream to a different format, re-encrypts the transcoded stream, and provides the re-encrypted media stream to the host device via the host interface. The transcoded media content may be placeshifted to a remote player, stored at the host, or used for any other purpose.

SOURCE DEVICE, CONTENT PROVIDING METHOD USING THE SOURCE DEVICE, SINK DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD OF THE SINK DEVICE
A source device for transmitting content to a sink device is provided. The source device may include an interface configured to perform high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) authentication with the sink device, and a controller configured to determine an HDCP version supported by the sink device, convert the content so as to be encrypted in the HDCP version supported by the sink device in response to a determination that another HDCP version applied to the content is not supported by the sink device, encrypt the converted content in the HDCP version supported by the sink device, and control the interface to transmit the content to the sink device.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DATA PROCESSING, STORAGE, AND RETRIEVAL FROM A SERVER
A method of splitting a data stream into a set of data segments may include receiving the data stream, wherein the data stream may include data packets; selecting a segment time period and a time domain; subdividing the time domain into a set of time blocks, each one of the set of time blocks having a duration of the segment time period; identifying a set of starting data packets corresponding to the set of time blocks; identifying a set of finishing data packets corresponding to the set of starting data packets; identifying a last one of the set of finishing data packets being a last data packet of a last one of the set of time blocks; and identifying the set of data segments based on the corresponding set of starting data packets and the corresponding set of finishing data packets.

Verifying the rendering of video content at client devices using trusted platform modules
Systems and methods for verifying the rendering of video content on information resources are provided herein. A server can transmit a video content element having a first bit stream corresponding to a predesignated frame to a client device. The client device can identify the first bit stream as corresponding to the predesignated frame. The client device can decode the first bit stream corresponding to the predesignated frame of the video content element to generate a second bit stream. The client device can transmit, to the server, a tracking message including the second bit stream. The server can compare the second bit stream included in the tracking message from the client device with a third bit stream maintained at a database. The server can determine that the video content element is rendered at the client device responsive to the second bit stream matching the third bit stream.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR WHOLE-PROCESS TRACE LEAVING OF VIDEO MANUSCRIPT GATHERING, EDITING, AND CHECK
The present invention provides a method for whole-process trace leaving of video manuscript gathering, editing, and check, including: extracting a key frame from video clipping information, generating histogram data by using the key frame, and obtaining video modification information based on the histogram data; and on-chaining, by using timestamps as blockchain nodes, the video modification information completed at different time points to form a trace chain arranged according to the timestamp, to implement whole-process trace leaving for video clipping. The technical solutions of the present invention resolve a difficulty in whole-process trace leaving for video manuscript editing and issuing, and in addition, by using the blockchain techniques, implement tamper-proofing and security of trace information, thereby effectively improving security of gathering and editing in the media industry.
Method and system for providing content
Methods and systems for providing content. A selection of a single virtual channel may be received from the user. Virtual programming data for the single virtual channel may be accessed. The virtual programming data may define content to be provided over the single virtual channel. The content may be provided over the single virtual channel in accordance with the virtual programming data.
