Locating and identifying paired electronic devices
An electronic device, method, and a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium provide a function of locating and identifying a paired device in a wireless network. The wireless network communicatively connects a plurality of electronic devices including the electronic device and the paired device. The electronic device includes a user interface, a network interface, a hardware processor, and a non-transitory memory storing one or more programs. The hardware processor executes the programs to receive a search command using a first communication connection via the network interface. Moreover, the hardware processor executes the programs to determine whether the peer device identifying information matches identifying information of the electronic device. When the peer device identifying information matches the identifying information of the electronic device, the electronic device identifies as the paired device. Otherwise, the electronic device broadcasts to the wireless network using a second communication connection.
INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing method, a device, and a storage medium, which relates to a screen transmission technology, are provided. The method includes: in response to a first operation acting on characters, displaying the characters in an input box, where the input box is an input box of a screen transmission application; determining a target screen-transmission code in candidate screen-transmission codes stored in a screen-transmission sending end according to input characters, where the number of characters contained in the target screen-transmission code is greater than the number of the input characters, the target screen-transmission code contains the input characters, the target screen-transmission code is a screen-transmission code of a screen-transmission receiving end, and the target screen-transmission code is acquired by the screen-transmission sending end from a beacon received from the screen-transmission receiving end; displaying the target screen-transmission code in the input box.
CONTROLLING COMMUNICATIONS FROM CONTENT SERVER TO END DEVICE
Communications from a content server to an end device via a proxy device are controlled. The content server and the proxy device are connected by a first link using a streaming control protocol. The proxy device also has a connection to the end device over a second link. The method includes obtaining information about a context of the end device. The method further includes determining where a decision should be made about controlling transmissions from the content server over the first link, based on the information about the context of the end device. The method further includes controlling transmissions from the content server over the first link, based on information relating to a Quality of Experience at the end device.
AUDIO SYNCHRONIZATION IN WIRELESS SYSTEMS
Methods, devices, and systems are provided for synchronizing a source device with a sink device. In some examples, the source device plays first audio using, e.g., an electro-acoustic transducer. The source device transmits a stream of packets to the sink device to be used by the sink device for playing second audio, where the playing of the second audio is to be synchronized within a predefined tolerance with the playing of the first audio. In response to determining there is a delay in average packet arrival times of the stream of packets at the sink device, the source device adjusts the playing of the first audio to maintain synchronization with the playing of the second audio within the predefined tolerance.
Electronic apparatus and operating method of the same
Provided are an electronic apparatus and an operating method of the same. The electronic apparatus includes: a communicator; a memory storing one or more instructions; and a processor configured to control the electronic apparatus by executing the one or more instructions to: collect peripheral device information based on a message received from a peripheral device, by using a first device discovery protocol and a second device discovery protocol; transmit the peripheral device information to a server through the communicator; and receive a home network device list of the electronic apparatus from the server through the communicator, the home network device list being generated by the server based on the peripheral device information.
Frequency band selection and processing techniques for media source detection
Example methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture (i.e., physical storage media) to perform media source detection based on frequency band selection and processing are disclosed. Example meters disclosed herein are to compare a first audio signal from a monitored media device with a second audio signal from a first one of a plurality of media sources in communication with the monitored media device to determine a sequence of match results, the first audio signal associated with media presented by the media device. Disclosed example meters are also to compute a standard deviation of time delays associated with respective ones of the match results. Disclosed example meters are further to determine whether the first one of the media sources is a source of the media presented by the monitored media device based on the standard deviation.
Electronic apparatus and control method thereof
An electronic apparatus includes: a signal output circuit configured to connect with an external apparatus connected to a display apparatus, a processor configured to control the electronic apparatus to: obtain information about a first image format supported in the display apparatus from the external apparatus, output a content signal having the first image format to the external apparatus through the signal output circuit to the display apparatus based on identifying that the external apparatus supports an interface protocol capable of transmitting the content signal having the first image format, and output a content signal having a second image format different from the first image format to the external apparatus through the signal output circuit based on identifying that the external apparatus does not support the interface protocol.
Systems and methods for device localization
Systems and methods for localizing portable devices are illustrated. One embodiment includes a method for locating a portable device in a network that includes several reference devices. The method measures characteristics of signals transmitted via signal paths between reference devices and a portable device, normalizes the measurements to estimate characteristics of the signal paths, and estimates the likelihood that the portable device is in a particular location. Systems and methods for training prediction models include a method that includes steps for receiving context data for a portable device in a system, wherein the context data includes localization data that describes a location of the portable device, identifying a predicted stationary device based on the context data using a prediction model, identifying a target stationary device from the several stationary devices, training the prediction model based on based on the predicted stationary device and the received input.
Methods and apparatus to monitor media presentations
Methods and apparatus to monitor media presentations are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein include presenting information via a display of a media device, the information indicating that monitor software in the media device can be enabled, the monitor software to monitor media presented by the media device, the monitor software to be disabled by default. Disclosed example methods also include detecting a first user input that is to authorize the monitor software in the media device to be enabled, and in response to detection of the first user input: (i) enabling the monitor software in the media device to generate and report at least one of video fingerprints, audio fingerprints, video watermarks or audio watermarks representative of media presented by the media device, and (ii) transmitting, via a network interface, a notification to a remote monitoring entity to indicate that the monitor software in the media device has been enabled.
MANAGEMENT OF THE HTTP ADAPTIVE STREAMING OF AN ITEM OF DIGITAL CONTENT IN SCREEN SAVER MODE
A method for managing the HTTP adaptive streaming of an item of digital content within a multimedia stream player terminal in a local communication network is disclosed, the multimedia stream player terminal being associated with a terminal for rendering the item of digital content. On detection of an active state of a screen saver mode of the rendering terminal, such a management method implements a progressive reduction of a video rendering quality of the streamed item of digital content, and maintains an audio rendering quality of the item of content.
