Systems and methods are described for disambiguating user input based on a physical location of items in a vicinity of a user. The system determines that a query received from a user contains an ambiguity. In response, the system identifies several items in the physical vicinity of the user. Then, the system analyzes the identified plurality of items to determine whether the plurality of items forms a first ensemble of items or a second ensemble of items. If the plurality of items forms a first ensemble of items, the system performs a search using the search query and a first keyword related to the first ensemble of items. If the plurality of items forms a second ensemble of items, the system performs a search using the search query and a second keyword related to the second ensemble of items. The system then outputs results of the performed search.

Systems and processes for operating an intelligent automated assistant are provided. In one example process, information associated with media playback is received from one or more user devices. A speech request for a media item is received from a user. At least the speech request and the information associated with media playback is transmitted to a second electronic device. Based on at least the speech request and the information associated with media playback, an instruction for media playback on a secondary user device is received. At least one task is performed based on the instruction for media playback.

A system and method for notifying client devices in a subscriber account that the account is undersubscribed and no further client devices can stream media content until other client devices are no longer actively streaming media content is disclosed herein. The method comprises receiving a request to receive and play the media content from a requesting client device, the requesting client device being one of a plurality of client devices enabled to receive media content according to a subscriber account and determining if the subscriber account is undersubscribed; if the subscriber account is not undersubscribed. If the subscriber account is not undersubscribed, initiating transmission of the media content, and if the subscriber account is undersubscribed, information is transmitted to the requesting client device, the information including data indicating the subscriber account is undersubscribed without initiating the transmission of the media content.

An exemplary computer console can generate one or more video streams having image data relating to an image or a series of images, also referred to as video, to be presented by an electronic display device. The exemplary computer console can provide the one or more video streams to the electronic display device over one or more transport streams. The exemplary computer console can effectively throttle a video stream bitrate of the one or more video streams to be less than of the standard defined transport stream bitrate of the one or more transport streams to allow the transport of the one or more video streams over the one or more transport streams.

An electronic device and an operating method thereof are provided. The electronic device includes a receiver, a memory, a processor configured to search the memory for fixed rate link (FRL) transmission bandwidth data for a source device in response to an electrical connection to the source device, perform FRL link training with a bandwidth value of the FRL transmission bandwidth data determined according to a FRL transmission bandwidth data search result, and process a content signal transmitted with a transmission bandwidth when the FRL link training is completed, and a reproducing device configured to perform a reproducing operation based on the processed content signal.

The image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a display; an external device interface configured to perform short-range communication; and a controller configured to: when the number of external devices communicatively connected with the image display apparatus is one, or when a bandwidth usage for the short-range communication is less than a predetermined reference, transmit an entire signal to the one external device, when the number of the external devices is two or more, and the bandwidth usage is greater than or equal to the predetermined reference, acquire a plurality of channel signals from the entire signal; transmit a first channel signal to a first external device among the external devices; and transmit a second channel signal to a second external device among the external devices.

A device utilizes a microphone and/or speaker to communicate with a target device to ensure that the two devices are within sufficient proximity to ensure a proper connection.

Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to monitor media are disclosed. An example apparatus includes at least one memory, machine-readable instructions, and at least one processor to execute the machine-readable instructions to at least establish a direct media network as a Group Owner after performance of a negotiation process with a streaming client device. The at least one processor is to add a client device to the direct media network based on a beacon response from the streaming client device and, after metadata is extracted from first media at the apparatus, cause transmission of the first media to a media presentation device via the direct media network, the metadata representative of an identification of the media, and cause transmission of a message including the identification of the media to a server via a network to credit the media as having been accessed based on the identification.

An example method involves receiving, by a playback device in a media playback system, limited-access media, where the limited-access media corresponds to a limited-access playback device characteristic. The method may further involve determining, by the playback device, that a particular playback device having the limited-access playback device characteristic is active in the media playback system. Based on determining that the particular playback device having the limited-access playback device characteristic is active in the media playback system, the method may further involve causing the media playback system to play back the limited-access media.

An example method involves receiving, by a playback device in a media playback system, limited-access media, where the limited-access media corresponds to a limited-access playback device characteristic. The method may further involve determining, by the playback device, that a particular playback device having the limited-access playback device characteristic is active in the media playback system. Based on determining that the particular playback device having the limited-access playback device characteristic is active in the media playback system, the method may further involve causing the media playback system to play back the limited-access media.
