UPSTREAM SWEEP TEST WITH SWEEP SERVER SIGNALING
A network test instrument is operable to conduct sweep tests with a cable modem termination system having a distributed architecture. Through signaling performed via a telemetry channel between the network test instrument and a sweep server, the network test instrument can initiate the sweep test. The sweep server communicates with the cable modem termination system to facilitate the sweep test between the network test instrument and the cable modem termination system.
Methods and systems to meter media content presented on a wireless communication device
An example apparatus to monitor media that is presented via a mobile device includes: an application monitor to determine when media presentation software is being executed by the mobile device; and a metering information collector to collect at least one of a signature or a code of the media presented by the media presentation software based on the media presentation software being executed by the mobile device.
Set-top disk health diagnostics
Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to monitor for and alert the occurrence of pre-failure indicators at a set-top box (STB) disk. Results of self-monitoring tests, short tests, and maximum/minimum performance tests may be used to identify the potential for a STB disk failure. Moreover, critical error events at the STB may be logged, and the health of the STB disk may be determined based on the logged critical error events. Test results and critical error event logs may be used to predict an impending failure of a STB disk, and a notification may be output to a user or technician indicating the potential need to replace the STB or STB disk.
Sending Audio Content to Digital Works
A method and system for providing a device with audio data, the method comprising the steps of: receiving from a device a request for audio data, wherein the request is received while the device is rendering a digital work, the digital work including video data. Determining audio data to send to the device in response to the request. Sending the determined audio data to the device together with computer readable instructions, wherein the computer readable instructions cause the device to: while continuing the rendering of the digital work on the device, suspend playback of first audio data currently playing on the device and playing the received audio data on the device. When the received audio data stops playing continuing with the rendering of the digital work on the device and resume playback of the first audio data previously playing on the device.
MANAGEMENT OF THE CHANNEL BAR
Videos may be loaded to an electronic device at any of a plurality of bitrates, each bitrate corresponding to a certain video quality level. The bitrate selected may be based on, for example, bandwidth capabilities and/or video quality standards. However, bandwidth capabilities may be taxed or exceeded if multiple videos are loaded simultaneously to the electronic device. Examples of the disclosure can be used to manage bandwidth, adjust bitrates, and/or selectively load video and audio in accordance with bandwidth capabilities to provide uninterrupted video playback at a relatively high quality. Further, video players may be allocated in memory and re-used as a user scrolls and switches through a number of videos playing onscreen concurrently.
VIDEO DATA PROCESSING BASED ON SAMPLING RATE
In general, aspects disclosed herein provide techniques for processing video data. Certain aspects provide a method for processing video data comprising a plurality of frames for display on a display as discussed herein. The method includes determining a sampling rate (N) based on a frame rate used for displaying the video data on the display. The sampling rate N is greater than 1. The method further includes, for every N frames of the plurality of frames, processing one or more statistics associated with a frame determine one or more display settings. The method further includes outputting to the display the corresponding N frames of the plurality of frames using the one or more display settings.
Indirect clock measuring and media adjustment
A method for indirectly measuring the clock rate of a media rendering subsystem, in a media rendering device that has a separate hardware clock for rendering the media, by using the rate at which data requests are made of the CPU in the media rendering device and using the CPU clock to provide additional accuracy in measuring the clock rate.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING CO-DELIVERY OF CONTENT
Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for providing co-deliver of primary and secondary content, including, video and video chat content. A first electronic device includes a transceiver that receives the secondary content from a second electronic device. The first electronic device also includes components capable of outputting aspects of the primary and secondary content in a synchronized fashion. Further, the first electronic device includes circuitry coupled to the transceiver and components, and the circuitry executes instructions in order to perform functions. One such function is to synchronize local primary content to be output by the components, with delivered primary content to be provided by the second electronic device. Another such function is to signal the components to output aspects of the local primary or the secondary content.
Television System, Television Set and Remote Controller
In response to an operation such as power-on or power-off, channel change and sound volume change, a television set combined with a personal computer automatically makes e-mail with information in a predetermined format indicative of the operation attached. The e-mail is automatically sent to another television set to inform the other television set of operation of the own television set. On the other hand, the e-mail can be sent to a rating company for audience share survey. The television set automatically reads the received e-mail and attachment to change the indication of display. The television set has storage of the received information for analysis of an abnormality. Abnormality can be also sensed through abnormal act on the remote controller apt to be taken by a person in panic or off the truck. The television set refuses information from unknown address for blocking an attack of a stranger.

Further, video players may be allocated in memory and re-used as a user scrolls and switches through a number of videos playing on-screen concurrently.
