BREWING APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH ADJUSTABLE PRESSURE
Provided are an apparatus and method that provides a brewing machine that produces a static water pressure with a variable water pressure. A first portion of an adaptor includes a peripheral wall that defines a region that receives heated water at a first pressure. A plurality of flanges protrude outwardly from the peripheral wall and cooperate with a group head of the brewing machine that is configured to receive and support a portafilter. A second portion is separate from the first portion, and arranged below the first portion to receive a portafilter basket. A conduit conveys water between the first portion and the second portion. A pressure regulator in fluid communication with the internal passage adjusts the heated water from the first pressure to a second pressure that is less than the first pressure, to be introduced to coffee in the portafilter basket at the second pressure.

PRESSURE PROFILING DEVICE, PARTICULARLY FOR DISPENSING UNITS OF PRESSURIZED LIQUIDS
The present invention relates to a pressure profiling device (1), particularly for dispensing units of pressurized liquids, comprising a pump (3) adapted to generate a flow of a pressurized liquid in outlet, said pump (3) being configured to be connected, by means of at least one delivery duct (5, 5′), to at least one dispensing unit (7, 7′) of said liquid, a three-way hydraulic fitting (9, 9′) being applied to said at least one delivery duct (5, 5′), configured to divert a first part of said liquid leaving said pump (3) into a bypass duct (11, 11′), a remaining second part of said liquid continuing on said at least one delivery duct (5, 5′), a proportional valve (13, 13′) being applied to said bypass duct (11, 11′), which can be operated to vary the flow rate of said first part of said liquid diverted in said bypass duct (11, 11′) as a function of the degree of opening of said proportional valve (13, 13′) so as to vary the pressure of the remaining second part of said liquid,
According to the invention, a restriction (15, 15′) is applied to said at least one delivery duct (5, 5′) between said pump (3) and said three-way hydraulic fitting (9, 9′), configured to impose a reduction in the flow rate of said liquid leaving said pump (3).
Pressure sensor overflow interlock system for beverage maker
A beverage maker device is disclosed. In embodiments, the device includes an external housing and a water tank coupled to a water supply via an inlet. The beverage maker includes a manifold within the housing, the manifold controlling the dispensing of the water into a server or through a faucet via solenoid valves. The beverage maker includes a pressure transducer coupled to the inlet and capable of sensing a flow pressure of the water through the inlet, sending a pressure signal to the beverage maker control circuitry based on the determined flow pressure. The control circuitry receives the pressure signal and determines a flow volume of the water through the inlet based on the flow pressure; if the flow volume reaches a flow threshold, the control circuitry cuts off the flow of water via the solenoid valves.
Sensor assembly
A sensor assembly for determining a temperature and an orientation of a jug having a bottom surface to rest on the assembly, the sensor assembly comprising: a temperature sensor for producing a temperature signal indicative of the temperature of the bottom surface, the temperature sensor being urged to move in a first direction; a diaphragm, the diaphragm being sealingly engageable with the temperature sensor and a platform supporting the jug, such that the temperature sensor extends through the platform to engage the bottom surface; a retainer, the retainer being connected to the temperature sensor and limiting movement of the temperature sensor in the first direction; and a signal generator for producing a signal when the temperature sensor is moved against the urge to move in the first direction.
BEVERAGE-PARAMETER SETTING ON A BEVERAGE MAKER
A method for controlling a beverage maker involves the steps of preparing a first beverage having a first value of a beverage-preparation parameter, preparing a second beverage having a second value of the beverage-preparation parameter different than the first value, receiving a user input that selects the first or the second beverage, and storing the beverage-preparation parameter of the selected beverage as a specification for the preparation of the beverage. A beverage maker includes a beverage-preparation device with at least one variable beverage-preparation parameter, which can assume at least two different values, and a control device configured to carry out the method.
