APPARATUS FOR MEASURING OPERATING PARAMETERS OF ESPRESSO COFFEE MACHINES
Apparatus for measuring the operating parameters of espresso coffee machines, comprising: a filter-holder body configured to be associated with a water dispensing nozzle of an espresso coffee machine; said body internally defining a chamber for the passage of the water dispensed by said nozzle; a filling element arranged in said chamber and having a cavity for the passage of the water dispensed by the nozzle towards an outlet duct; a water outlet terminal element associated with said filter-holder body downstream of said chamber and defining said water outlet duct; and reading means for the water pressure and temperature values passing from the chamber to the outlet duct; said reading means comprise at least one pressure reading device operatively engaged with said water outlet terminal element and at least one temperature reading device operatively engaged at said cavity obtained in the filling element.
SMART APPLIANCES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A smart inductive heating appliance includes an interface for interacting with a package intelligence and communication module on a smart package. The smart heating appliance may also detect and charge chargeable devices inductively. A number of data sets may be utilized to enhance control of heating/cooking and to enhance safety. A thermodynamic load profile of the package may include detailed data correlations established in a package testing step and utilized to control heating of the package as well as to validate and authenticate the package.
Method for generating a coffee beverage in a brewing device of an automatic coffee machine and automatic coffee machine for implementing the method
A method for generating a coffee beverage in an automatic coffee machine brewing device supplies pressurized brewing water at a brewing device brewing water inlet according to a first brewing water supply mode during a first time period. During a second time period, a brewing water parameter is determined correlating with the volume flow and/or pressure of the supplied brewing water. A mode adjustment variable is set for a second brewing water supply mode using the brewing water parameter. Brewing water is supplied at the brewing water inlet during the second time period according to the second brewing water supply mode. The mode adjustment variable defines at least one continuous mode for the second brewing water supply mode, in which the brewing water is continuously supplied, and a pulse mode for the second brewing water supply mode, in which the brewing water is supplied in pulses.
Brewing Apparatus For French Press Style Coffee
An apparatus for production of French press style coffee via a process to immerse and steep coffee grounds in heated water in a non-oil-absorbing environment. Filtering a finished beverage from the steeped mixture through a microperforated non-oil-absorbing filter, where microperforations are sized to achieve sediments levels equivalent to or less than that of traditional French press, and filtration rate is enhanced via any combination of vibratory energy, air pressure, and air flow to the brewed mixture. The microperforated filter may be permanent and reusable, or may be disposable. The disposable filter is preferably made from flexible aluminum foil and recyclable. The apparatus and method support modification of filter size, microperforation size, perforation density, air pressure, air flow and vibratory action to vary beverage filtration rate and finished beverage composition.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPROVING THE CONSISTENCY OF ESPRESSO SHOTS
An espresso brewing system to dynamically control the flow rate of water during pre-infusion and extraction to improvement shot consistency. Simple user controls create a programmatic “brewing environment” which allows shots to be very repeatable and shared, allowing shots to be reproduced on other machines with this system.

GRINDER, COFFEE MACHINE AND METHOD FOR GRINDING COFFEE BEANS
The invention relates to a grinder for grinding coffee beans. The grinder has a first grinding tool and a second grinding tool which form a grinding gap and are rotatable relative to each other to grind coffee beans in the gap. A force generation device is arranged for applying a force, which is adjustable during operation, to one or both of the first grinding tool and second grinding tool, which force is transferable to the coffee beans. The invention also relates to a method for grinding coffee beans with the grinder for preparing a hot beverage.
Coffee machine with dynamic flow and temperature control
A coffee machine is provided. The coffee machine may include an electronic control module configured to receive at least one flow set point and at least one temperature set point. The coffee machine may further include a portafilter, a group head configured to receive the portafilter, and at least one water line configured to supply water. The coffee machine may further include at least one syringe pump configured to pressurize the water to attain the at least one flow set point. The coffee machine may further include an in-line heating element configured to control temperature of the water according to the at least one temperature set point. The coffee machine may further include a feedback loop configured to provide the temperature to the electronic control module to enable selectively adjusting the temperature.
Beverage preparation machine supporting a remote service functionality
The present invention relates to a method for remotely providing service functionalities for a beverage preparation machine. The beverage preparation machine is adapted for preparing a beverage by receiving a capsule in a capsule extraction unit, circulating a carrier liquid, such as water in particular heated water, through said capsule in the extraction unit and by dispensing a resulting beverage. The machine is in data communication with a remote server via a communication network. The machine monitors parameters related to the machine and submits the monitored parameters to the server. The server initiates a service functionality depending on the submitted parameters. The present invention further relates to a beverage preparation machine adapted to support such a method and to a system for remotely providing service functionalities for a beverage preparation machine at a customer location.
