Disclosed are methods and systems of implementing a right over a content or contents. Various implementations may include means and operations for receiving, for example in an execution environment and from a secure element, a first key for implementing a right over an encrypted content; decrypting said content in said execution environment with the help of the first key; and implementing the right over the content in said execution environment. Various implementations may also include means and operations for receiving a second key in, for example, said execution environment, from the secure element; and encrypting said content in sad execution environment with the help of the second key.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a processing system that receives data related to an advertisement; the data includes a notice that the advertisement is to be presented at equipment of an end user. The system also analyzes the data by a rules engine using predetermined rules, including analyzing a context of the data and communicating with an external software component via an application programming interface (API). The system also sends a request by the rules engine to a rendering manager to initiate rendering of the advertisement, and renders the advertisement using an integrated software development kit (SDK) that is external to the rules engine. New ad experiences can thus be created based on a new event or on integration of a new rendering component (such as an SDK), rather than creating a new rules engine, ad decision manager, or operations API. The device includes a memory, a communication interface, and a processor configured to change, based on an event for turning off the electronic apparatus, first information indicating support for a fixed rate link (FRL) in EEID information stored in the memory into second information indicating no support for the FRL, and provide the second information to a source device connected through the communication interface.

This application discloses a coordinated control method and system for electronic devices. When triggering coordinated control, a second electronic device sends remote view logic information associated with a running business to a first electronic device. The first device directly locally loads an application-related interface based on an interface layout file included in the remote view logic information. In this way, for the first device end, a component, a parameter, and the like that are related to the running application of the second device do not need to be customized on the first device end for the running application, and only the remote view logic information transmitted to the first device needs to be loaded. Distributed business application logic may be defined for all running applications of the second device on a side of the second device, and then the second device synchronizes the distributed application logic with the first device.

Systems and methods for providing services are disclosed. One method can comprise receiving data having a first format and transmitting the data to a first device. The method may also comprise detecting a second device, automatically recognizing a supported second format of the detected second device, converting the data to the second format, and transmitting the converted data to the second device via wireless communication.

An example device for retrieving media data includes a middleware unit implemented in circuitry and configured to: receive a file delivery table (FDT) for a media bitstream; calculate an availability start time for a segment of the media bitstream using data of the FDT, the segment comprising an independently retrievable media file; update a manifest file for the media bitstream to signal the availability start time for the segment; and send the manifest file to a network streaming client of the device.

Systems and methods for providing services are disclosed. One method can comprise receiving data having a first format and transmitting the data to a first device. The method may also comprise detecting a second device, automatically recognizing a supported second format of the detected second device, converting the data to the second format, and transmitting the converted data to the second device via wireless communication.

A session management involves registering at least one IPTV application in a registration table so that the registration table includes at least a respective identifier of the IPTV applications. The IPTV applications are invokable at a set top box and can be so-called embedded applications and/or browser-based applications. An event requiring the invocation of an IPTV application at the set top box is detected and triggers a look-up in the registration table. The registration table is thus used as source to indicate those IPTV applications that are potentially available and can be launched at the set top box. One of the registered applications is launched for the purpose of handling the detected event.

Apparatus and methods for premises gateway functions that integrate or unify functions typically distributed across multiple devices within a content-based network. In one embodiment, the out-of-band (OOB) signaling functionality normally provided in each of a set-top-box (STB) and digital video recorder (DVR) are unified into a common OOB (e.g., DOCSIS) capable premises gateway device, thereby obviating OOB tuners and related components from each device. In another variant, the premises gateway is adapted for all-IP operation, such as for use with IP-based computers and IP set-top boxes, etc. Fully unified variants are also disclosed, wherein the DVR and/or STB functions are physically integrated within the premises gateway.

A virtual set-top box (vSTB) for executing a middleware component, designed originally for use with the physical STB, including emulating hardware capabilities of the physical STB to process IPTV content received over a connection for presenting the IPTV content on a display of the electronic device.
