Portable control device for controlling playback streams in distributed system
A distributed content rendering system has a distributed communication structure (14, 14b) coupled between a stream source and a rendering device. A remote control device of the system has a most recent button. Control information is gathered for one or more streams of which rendering has been most recently started anywhere via the communication structure (14, 14b) before actuation of the most recent button (160). When actuation of the most recent button (160) is detected in association with the rendering device (10), one of the one or more streams selected and the information is used to direct that stream at the rendering device (10) that is associated with the actuated.
REPRODUCTION DEVICE AND OUTPUT DEVICE
A reproducing device includes a reproducer that reproduces a content, a communicator that establishes a direct wireless connection to an information terminal, and a controller. The controller determines whether the information terminal is a previously permitted information terminal or not when the communicator receives a content reproduction request from the information terminal through wireless connection. The controller performs first control to power on the reproducer, and issues an instruction to perform the content reproduction to the reproducer, when it is determined that the information terminal is the previously permitted information terminal, and when the reproducer is powered off. The controller does not perform the first control when it is determined that the information terminal is not the previously permitted information terminal.
Accessing web-based fragments for display
Methods and systems are disclosed for presenting profile pages. For example, a messaging application implemented on a client device receives a request to access a page of the messaging application and identifies a first web-based application that is linked to the page of the messaging application. The messaging application obtains a first application fragment corresponding to the first web-based application and identifies a data field of the first application fragment that corresponds to information being presented on the page of the messaging application. The messaging application populates the data field of the first application fragment by sending a message from the messaging application to the first web-based application. The messaging application adds, to the page of the messaging application, a visual representation of the first application fragment comprising the populated data field.
Systems And Methods For Providing Services
Systems and methods for providing services are disclosed. One method can comprise receiving data having a first format and transmitting the data to a first device. The method may also comprise detecting a second device, automatically recognizing a supported second format of the detected second device, converting the data to the second format, and transmitting the converted data to the second device via wireless communication.
IPTV session management
A session management involves registering at least one IPTV application in a registration table so that the registration table includes at least a respective identifier of the IPTV applications. The IPTV applications are invokable at a set top box and can be so-called embedded applications and/or browser-based applications. An event requiring the invocation of an IPTV application at the set top box is detected and triggers a look-up in the registration table. The registration table is thus used as source to indicate those IPTV applications that are potentially available and can be launched at the set top box. One of the registered applications is launched for the purpose of handling the detected event.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE, COMPANION DEVICE, AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device includes a communicator comprising communication circuitry; and a controller configured to recognize a trigger for an execution request of an application for interoperating with a companion screen and to transmit a notification message including a key identifying the application of a companion device and information for calling the application to a notification server that provides a notification service with respect to the application to the companion device through the communication circuitry of the communicator.
SYSTEM FOR RETRIEVAL OF EXECUTABLE APPLICATIONS
A system for retrieval of executable applications, comprising: a broadcast tele-vision receiver apparatus; and a server; wherein the broadcast television receiver apparatus includes a communication unit having an interface for bidirectional communication with a network and adapted to determine channel information from a currently decoded channel carried in a broadcast television signal, the channel information identifying the currently decoded channel, the communication unit being further adapted to send the channel information to a server over the network, and to receive application information from the server, the application information describing a set of applications which are available for execution, and to receive executable code components for the set of applications corresponding to the application information, and wherein the broadcast television receiver apparatus further includes a data processor adapted to execute the application whilst the channel is decoded; and wherein the server is adapted to receive the channel information over the network, to determine the application information by analyzing the channel information, and to send the application information to the communication unit.
Apparatus and method for providing interactive service to device using different digital broadcast middleware standards
An apparatus and method for providing an interactive service to devices using different digital broadcast middleware standards are provided. The apparatus includes an execution information providing module which provides execution information regarding an application that has been executed in a first device using a first middleware standard so that the application can be executed in a second device using a second middleware standard; and a request execution module which receives a request issued by the second device during the execution of the application in the second device, and performs an operation corresponding to the received request.
