Method, device and system for controlling cable television system
09749573 · 2017-08-29 · ·

Disclosed are a method, a device and a system for controlling a cable television system. The method includes that: an intelligent mobile terminal detects whether the intelligent mobile terminal is connected to a home wireless network, and when it is detected that the intelligent mobile terminal is connected to the home wireless network, transmits a set-top box turn-on signal to a set-top box through the home wireless network; the set-top box executes a turn-on operation according to the received set-top box turn-on signal and transmits a television turn-on signal to a television. According to the disclosure, after a user of the intelligent mobile terminal gets home, the intelligent mobile terminal carried by the user automatically turns on the set-top box and the television, and the user does not need to use a remote controller of the set-top box and a remote controller of the television.

PLAYING CONTROL METHOD AND TERMINAL

A playing control method and a terminal are provided. The method includes the following. A playing control instruction carrying a device identifier of a playing device is acquired. A content input port and a power output port that are integrated in a control terminal and correspond to the device identifier are opened. Power output ports of the control terminal other than the power output port corresponding to the device identifier and a power output port coupled to a display terminal are closed, multimedia contents via the content input port corresponding to the device identifier are received, and the multimedia contents are transmitted to the display terminal for output and display.

POWER AWARE ADAPTATION FOR VIDEO STREAMING

Power aware adaptation for a power aware video streaming system may be based on the complexity information conveyed in different ways. A complexity level of a data stream, such as a video data stream, may be selected as a function of a remaining battery power of a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and on a state set of a plurality of state sets that may be stored and/or managed by the WTRU. These state sets may correspond to, for example, different content sources and/or different complexity estimation algorithms and may be used to select the complexity level of the data stream. The data stream may then be received at the selected complexity level. The complexity level and/or a bitrate of the data stream may be adapted to accommodate, for example, the remaining battery power and/or other circumstances. The adaptation may be customized according to the objectives of use cases.

DECODER, METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DECODING MULTIMEDIA STREAMS

Decoder, system and method for decoding multimedia data at the level of a terminal by managing the energy available for decoding comprising a decoder of the multimedia data, characterized in that said decoder comprises at least one low-consumption decoding chain comprising an activation module suitable for activating a first low-consumption decoding chain or loop filter and a low-consumption interpolation chain as a function of at least one parameter representative of constraints of user energy and/or of the mobile terminal and of one or more metadata M.sub.d associated with a decoding complexity and/or with a decoding energy.

Various embodiments are directed to one or more transcoder devices in communication with an input device such as a remote control device and multiple destination devices in which the transcoder device(s) facilitate communication between the remote control and the various destination devices in the vicinity. The transcoder device(s) can also provide the user with an environmental awareness of conditions and events surrounding the user. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Using timed transport stream for receiver-side inter-device communication
09736521 · 2017-08-15 · ·

Systems, methods, devices, and non-transitory media of the various embodiments facilitate real time playback of a digital broadcast by enabling reduction of the amount of time a receiver device's low power mode interface with a separate computing device operates in an operational/high power mode. The receiver device may associate a stream of media packets of a digital broadcast with system time clock timestamps indicating when the media packets were received, and store the media packets in a temporary packet buffer. Periodically, a media packet burst stored in the temporary packet buffer may be sent to the separate computing device via a low power mode interface operating in an operational/high-power mode different than a low power mode. The low power mode interface may be returned to the low-power mode until the next burst of packets is sent to the separate computing device.

PROVIDING CUSTOMIZED ENTERTAINMENT EXPERIENCE USING HUMAN PRESENCE DETECTION

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for detecting human presence in front of a plurality of sensors, such as speaker sensors, and a device with a processor, such as a television. An example method includes varying, during a collection routine, a respective signal strength of one or more of a plurality of transmitters. The example method further includes receiving results of the collection routine in a form of raw data from a plurality of sensors. The example method further includes determining, by at least one processor, a respective geographical position of one or more humans present within a predetermined geographical range of the at least one processor based on the raw data from the plurality of sensors. Subsequently, the example method includes executing an action based on the respective geographical position of the one or more humans.
