Various arrangements for facilitating smart television content receivers are provided. A primary television receiver (PTR) having a first operating system may be configured to receive digital content from a remote content provider and distribute the content to one or more devices in response to a request for the content. A secondary television receiver (STR) configured to be in communication with a PTR and having a second operating system may be configured to receive the digital content from the PTR and provide the content to a display for presentation. The STR may include a first software stack including first processes and a first inter-process communication (IPC) mechanism, and a second software stack including second processes and a second IPC mechanism. The first processes may use the first IPC to communicate with the second processes. The second processes may use the second IPC to communicate with others of the second processes.

Disclosed herein is a receiver that generates a video signal. A first video is assigned to a first display layer of a plurality of display layers. A first trigger signal causes a first application to assign a first user interface to a second display layer, which is positioned over the first display layer. A second trigger signal causes a second application to assign a second user interface to a third display layer, which is positioned over the second display layer. The second trigger signal causes a reduction in a size of the first video, and a first portion of the third display layer and a second portion of the second display layer to be made transparent. The reduced size of the first video is positioned beneath the first portion. A combination of the first display layer, the second display layer, and the third display layer generates the video signal.

A configurable input element of a controlling device is configured by using a data representative of an over-the-top (OTT) media app determined to be installed on an OTT device and a data representative of the OTT device to identify at least one command that is required to be transmitted to cause the OTT device to launch the OTT media app. The at least one command is provisioned to the controlling device and assigned to the configurable input element. When the input element is subsequently activated, the controlling device will transmit the at least one command to cause the OTT device to launch the OTT media app.

Example techniques relate to prioritizing media content requests. An example implementation involves a computing system receives an explicit request to play back a playlist on one or more playback devices of a media playback system. The computing system causes the playback devices to play back a given audio track of the playlist. While the playback devices are playing back first tracks of the playlist, the computing system receives one or more implicit requests for second audio tracks in the playlist. While the playback devices are playing back the second audio tracks of the playlist, the computing system receives an explicit request to play back audio content on a mobile device. The computing system determines that the request to play back the audio content on the mobile device is a higher priority than the requests for second audio tracks and switches playback from the playback devices to the mobile device.

A method, an apparatus and an electronic device for processing a subtitle beyond scope are provided. In the method, size information of a display device of a terminal is acquired, where the size information indicates a size of the display device. A secure zone is established according to the size information, where the secure zone has a size less than or equal to the size of the display device. A video frame is selected from video images in response to playing the video images by the terminal. A composite frame is generated using parts of the video frame that are beyond the secure zone. It is judged whether the composite frame contains text. It is determined that a subtitle in the video images is beyond scope if the composite frame contains text.

Systems and methods for generating notification interfaces based on interactions with broadcast events are provided. The system can maintain content items corresponding to a live event, and identify interactions provided via a broadcast receiver device while the broadcast receiver device presented corresponding historic live event broadcasts. The system can determine an arrangement of the content items corresponding to the live event based on attributes of the historic live event broadcasts. The system can generate display instructions for the broadcast receiver device that cause the broadcast receiver device to display the content items with a broadcast of the live event according to the arrangement, and transmit the display instructions to the broadcast receiver device to cause the broadcast receiver device to display the content items with the broadcast of the live event.

Systems and methods for generating notification interfaces synchronized with broadcast events and local interactions are disclosed. The system can receive a plurality of interactions corresponding to a conditional event opportunity of a live event from a respective plurality of client devices, and identify a broadcast receiver device that is presenting a broadcast of the live event. The system can generate instructions for a broadcast receiver device that causes an application executing on the broadcast receiver device to display one or more content items corresponding to the conditional event opportunity. The system can transmit the instructions to the broadcast receiver device to cause the application to display the one or more content items with the broadcast of the live event.

A method and apparatus for generating a presentation including a device demonstration including a user interface for receiving a first user command defining a parent record including a presentation element, a first client record including the first device, and the first input, and a second client record including the second device and the second input; the user input further configured for receiving a first display command and a second display command, and a processor for generating a user interface having a first view configured including the first video content within a first graphic associated with the first device and the presentation element and coupling the first view to a display device, the processor further configured for generating a second view including the second video content within a second graphic associated with the second external device and coupling the second view to the display device.

The present disclosure provides live event systems having one or more processors coupled to memory. The live event system can access a plurality of messages associated with a live event broadcasted to a plurality of broadcast receiver devices via a broadcast provider system. The live event system can determine that at least one message of the messages satisfies a condition of a notification generation policy relating to the live event. The live event system can identify, from the broadcast receiver devices, a subset of broadcast receiver devices that satisfy a notification transmission policy relating to the live event. The live event system can transmit instructions to the broadcast provider system, instructions causing the broadcast provider system to communicate with each broadcast receiver device of the subset of broadcast receiver devices and cause each broadcast receiver device of the subset to display a notification identifying the live event.
