Systems and methods for updating firmware in an audio device, such as a soundbar, operatively connected to a Smart TV, are shown and described. Firmware update data is transmitted to the audio device via an audio return channel (ARC) of an HDMI cable. In certain of the systems, the firmware update data is transmitted to the audio device when no audio is being transmitted to or played by the audio device. In other systems, the firmware update data and real-time audio data are multiplexed by the Smart TV and are sent to the audio device via the audio return channel for subsequent demultiplexing and playback of the audio.

An electronic apparatus and a method of controlling the same are provided. The electronic apparatus includes a communication interface and a processor configured to receive multimedia data from an external apparatus, obtain a first finger print of first frames among a plurality of frames included in the multimedia data, the first frames being included in a first time interval, and transmit the first finger print to the server; identify whether a content in the multimedia data has been changed and a time point indicating a time of identifying a change in the content; based on identifying that the content has been changed, obtain a second finger print of a frame corresponding to the time point, and transmit the second finger print to the server; receive content information corresponding to the second finger print, and determine whether to change the first time interval based on the content information.

In one aspect, an example apparatus includes storage, and a processor to execute instructions to obtain first data representing a first state of first media scheduled to end at a scheduled end-time, obtain second data representing a second state of a past event corresponding to a subject of the first media, the past event separate from the first media, determine a predicted end-time based on a comparison of the first state and the second state, the predicted end-time indicating that the first media is to end after the scheduled end-time, modify electronic program guide (EPG) data associated with the first media based on the predicted end-time, and generate an EPG based on the modified EPG data.

A method includes receiving data characterizing digital content from a repository of digital content. The method also includes receiving data characterizing a right to use the digital content from a store configured to sell a right to use the digital content to a customer associated with a non-destructive testing device. The method further includes performing an inspection of machinery using the non-destructive testing device based on the received digital content and the received right to use the digital content. Systems and methods of generating voice-based software applications are provided. A system can receive, from an application developer computing device, a request to build a voice-based software application. The system can select an application template from a plurality of application templates. The selected application template can include a module that corresponds to a function of the voice-based software application. The system can provide the selected application template to the application developer computing device. The system can receive, from the application developer computing device, an input for a field of the at least one module of the selected application template. The system can generate the voice-based software application based on the selected application template and the input for the at least one field of the at least one module of the selected application template.

A method including while receiving a live digital audio stream from one or more remote servers and outputting the live digital audio stream via a speaker of a client device, receiving the updated content schedule from the one or more remote servers, generating and displaying a real-time programming guide user-interface including the updated content schedule and least one content segment component corresponding to at least one of the content segment data in the updated content schedule. The method further includes transmitting a content segment digital audio signal request to the one or more remote servers for a prior portion of the live digital audio stream corresponding to the content segment data; and, in response to receiving the prior portion of the live digital audio stream, ceasing outputting the live digital audio stream and outputting the prior portion of the live digital audio stream corresponding to the content segment data.

Disclosed herein are various embodiments for a media device upgrading system with a native user interface. An embodiment operates by displaying a native user interface of a media device configured to operate in both a normal mode without an upgrader device and an upgrader mode when an upgrader device is connected to an input port of the media device. It is determined that the upgrader device is connected a command is received via the native user interface. It is determined that the command operates a software component, and the command is provided to the upgrader device. A response to executing the command is received from the upgrader device, and a response is displayed on the native user interface.

A system and method for updating a settop box (STB) architecture that can be used to immediately update a device without requiring the device to be reset/restarted. The device may be any type of device that simultaneously supports multiple applications. The architecture may be used to update one of the applications with new functionality in a seamless manner that allows the applications including the one application to continue to operate without interruption.
