An electronic device for providing graphic data based on a voice, and an operation method therefor are provided. The electronic device includes a display, and a processor, and the processor is configured to obtain at least one keyword from a voice signal related to a plurality of images, determine at least one graphic data corresponding to the at least one keyword, select at least one of the plurality of images, based on a point in time at which a voice corresponding to a keyword that corresponds to the determined graphic data is output, and perform control so as to apply the determined graphic data to the at least one selected image.

The present application discloses a display method and a display apparatus; and the display apparatus includes a controller configured to determine, on the basis of a schedule list and target program display information corresponding to a target EPG page, whether there is a schedule conflict; if there is a schedule conflict, determining a specified channel and specified time period corresponding to the schedule conflict; obtaining a specified schedule identifier corresponding to the specified channel in the specified time period, and displaying the specified schedule identifier on specified program information.

The present disclosure is intended to provide a smart television and a method for displaying a graphical user interface of a television screen shot. The method includes while a display device is displaying currently-played content, in response to receiving an input instruction for capturing a screen shot, acquiring a screen shot image comprising at least one object; and while the display device continues playing, displaying a screen shot content display layer on the display device. The screen shot content display layer is configured to present the screen shot image. The method further includes in response to receiving an input for selecting an object or a keyword matched with the object, displaying recommended content related to the object; in response to receiving a selection for a different object on the screen shot image by moving a focus frame, updating presentation of recommended content based on the selected different object.

Systems and methods are provided herein for scheduling a season recording. A series is provided to a user device, the series having a plurality of sequential seasons, and each season having a plurality of episodes. A request for recording the series is received from the user. In response, a last episode of the series watched by the user is identified. A relevant season of the plurality of seasons is then determined, such that the relevant season precedes another season of the plurality of seasons and includes the last episode watched by the user. Then, episodes of the relevant season that follow the last episode watched by the user are scheduled for recording, such that episodes of a season that precedes the relevant season are not scheduled for recording.

Systems and methods are presented herein for recording portions of a media asset relevant to recording criteria. A media application receives input indicating the recording criteria and identifying a first keyword. The media application accesses a data structure to identify a first node associated with the first keyword. The data structure includes the first node and a plurality of nodes connected to the first node via a plurality of paths. The media application receiving audio component data for a portion of the media asset extracts a term from the audio component data, and identifies a second node in the data structure that is associated with the extracted term. The media application calculates a path score for the portion of the media asset based on a path size in the data structure between the first node and the second node. When the score is high enough, the portion of the media asset is recorded.

A broadcast reception device includes: a program recording execution unit that stores, into a recording-content storage area, program identification information for identifying a broadcast program, and storage-destination information for specifying a server device storing the broadcast program; a reception function execution unit that transmits the program identification information and the program storage-destination information to the server device specified from the program storage-destination information; and an output unit that outputs sound information and image information on the broadcast program transmitted from the server device.

A method and apparatus for performing an integrated search is provided. An interface is provided that allows users to search and select any data related to a searchable term. Searchable terms may comprise titles of content, actors, and tags. Upon receiving results from the initial search, the user progresses through the initial search by selecting a result from the initial search and conducting a further search of that selection. The search may progress through many layers of searching in order to find information useful to the user and the user may perform actions based upon results of the search. The search implements a display with two columns, the first column displaying selectable data, and the second column displaying results to the selected data. The search is further customizable based upon a privacy level selected by the user.

A broadcast receiving apparatus includes: a digital broadcast receiver configured to receive digital broadcasting in which contents are transmitted; a network transceiver configured to execute network communication; a data string converter configured to perform a mixing process for creating a new coded data string based on a coded data string of the received contents and a coded data string acquired by the network transceiver; a digital interface configured to output the contents to external equipment; and a controller configured to determine a state of the network communication of the external equipment. The state of the network communication of the external equipment includes a first state in which the network communication is in a communicable state and a second state in which the network communication is in an uncommunicable state. In accordance with the determined state of the network communication, the digital interface performs three types of output operations.

According to various embodiments, a content casting method of an electronic device may comprise: an operation of obtaining a content list including a plurality of pieces of content information from an external server; an operation of selecting at least one piece of content from the content list on the basis of at least one of the state of a user, the type of content, and the state of an external electronic device; and an operation of transmitting information on the selected at least one piece of content to the external electronic device so as to cause the external electronic device to play the selected at least one piece of content through a short-range wireless network. Systems and methods are described to address shortcomings in the conventional network storage systems via novel techniques to store offsets of a recorded program in a network digital video recorder (DVR). Storing offsets of a recorded program may be beneficial to users that would like to record media content that is broadcast either prior to a start time of a program, or media content that is broadcast after an end time of a program. This feature may be useful when start times and end times of a program are variable (e.g., in the case of sporting events, or other real-time events). This feature may also be useful for recording content of interest that is scheduled for broadcast prior to a start time of or after an end time of the program.
