A processing system may identify a context of a user selection within a content, identify a sequence of known user interactions with the content based on the context, modify the content to include at least one custom selection based on the sequence of known user interactions that is identified, and present the content that is modified to a user.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, generating a video scene adapted to establish an ambiance setting and providing the video scene to equipment of a user for presentation at a display device. A visual focus is detected of the user towards presentation of the video scene displayed proximate to the user and the video scene is modified responsive to the visual focus. The modifying of the video scene is adapted to discourage visual focus of the user towards the presentation of the video scene. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A smart multimedia content receiver automatically resizes video images based on the content being displayed on the TV screen. Such a self-formatting content receiver includes on-board image processing capability that provides continuous video analysis to detect changes in program formatting and convert each frame as it is received in real time, as opposed to processing and re-releasing an entire program or movie, or relying on the viewer to re-format programs manually. In response to detecting a change, aspect ratio adjustments are made as needed. Because the self-formatting content receiver has access to the video data before it is displayed, such automatic on-the-fly adjustments ensure that the viewer's experience during program changes is seamless and without distortion. Subscribers can influence decisions made by the content receiver by pre-setting viewer preferences for aspect ratio adjustment.

Methods and systems are described herein for a media guidance application that allows users to associate input schemes with physical objects in an augmented reality environment. Specifically, the media guidance application may recognize physical objects in an augmented reality environment and allow users to identify input schemes to associate with the physical objects, wherein the input schemes are ways in which users may control presentation of media content by interacting with the physical objects.

Systems and methods are described for facilitating adjustment of multiple variables via a content guidance application. The method comprises generating, for display via a graphical user interface of a touchscreen, a first axis defining a first scale for a first adjustment characteristic. The method further comprises assigning to the first adjustment characteristic a plurality of first variables stored in memory. The method further comprises detecting, via the touchscreen, a touch input having a component along the first axis for adjusting the first adjustment characteristic. The method further comprises, in response to detecting the touch input, adjusting, in the memory, each of the plurality of first variables assigned to the first adjustment characteristic based on the touch input and the first scale.

In at least one embodiment, an apparatus and method for monitoring audio content that is played back in a vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes memory and a media controller. The media controller includes the memory and is programmed to transmit first media content as desired by one or more first vehicle occupants positioned in a first zone seating area and to transmit second media content as desired one or more second vehicle occupants positioned in a second zone seating area. A list of video-on-demand (VOD) programs based on viewer selections is provided. VOD programs may be marked with a mark indicating the level of viewer interest. In one embodiment, a list of VOD programs may be displayed that includes or excludes programs having a particular mark, or sorts programs based on the marks. In another embodiment, a list of VOD programs may be displayed based on availability times. In yet another embodiment, after a viewer has played back a VOD program, a list of related VOD programs may be automatically displayed.
