Deep content tagging
A method and apparatus for deep content tagging. A media device receives one or more first frames of a content item, where the one or more first frames spans a duration of a scene in the content item. The media device detects one or more objects or features in each of the first frames using a neural network model and identifies one or more first genres associated with the first frames based at least in part on the detected objects or features in each of the first frames. The media device further controls playback of the content item based at least in part on the identified first genres.
Automatically suspending or reducing portable device notifications when viewing audio/video programs
A facility for selectively suppressing notifications on a portable device is described. The facility accesses data characterizing the condition of the portable device. The facility infers from the accessed data that that the portable device is being carried by a person who is viewing content being played by a media player device. In response to this inference, the facility determines whether notifications should be suppressed on the portable device. If the facility determines that notifications should be suppressed on the portable device, it causes a wireless communication to be transmitted to the portable device instructing the portable device to suppress notifications.
Methods and systems for generating notifications based on the interests of guests
Methods and systems are provided herein for generating notifications based on the interests of guests. Guests may request notifications on their host's television, and the system will generate notifications based on the guest's interests and preferences as stored in the guest's user profile. In doing so, the guest will be notified of events of interest, such as when a favorite sports team scores a point or when an important scene in a favorite movie is playing. The system monitors the network of the apartment or house and detects when a guest device is accessing the network. The system then accesses the guest's interests and identifies a set of programs based on these interests. The system then monitors these programs and generates notifications on the display device when an event of interest has occurred in one of the identified programs.
DYNAMIC VIDEO BACKGROUND RESPONSIVE TO ENVIRONMENTAL CUES
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, generating a video scene adapted to establish an ambiance setting and providing the video scene to equipment of a user for presentation at a display device. A visual focus is detected of the user towards presentation of the video scene displayed proximate to the user and the video scene is modified responsive to the visual focus. The modifying of the video scene is adapted to discourage visual focus of the user towards the presentation of the video scene. Other embodiments are disclosed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROGRAM SOURCE DISPLAY
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for displaying a program source indicator. A program may be selected within an electronic program guide. Metadata associated with the program may be received, wherein the metadata comprises a source identifier. A source identifier may be an Internet-streaming service, a broadband TV service, a satellite TV service, and/or a digital video recorder database. Based on the source identifier, a source indicator may be retrieved. A program source indicator may be a superimposed image, icon, or other visual indicator. The source indicator may then be temporarily overlaid on the program content within the electronic programming guide.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND MEDIA FOR PROVIDING PERSONALIZED NOTIFICATIONS TO VIDEO VIEWERS
Methods, systems, and media for providing personalized notifications to video viewers are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving, using a hardware processor, one or more prompts to be presented in association with a video from a user account associated with the video; receiving, from the user account associated with the video, one or more notifications, wherein each of the one or more prompts is associated with one of the one or more notifications; causing the one or more prompts to be presented in association with presentation of the video to a user; receiving an indication that a first prompt of the one or more of the prompts was selected by the user; causing a notification associated with the first prompt to be presented to the user in response to receiving the indication.
NON-FUNGIBLE TOKENS FOR MEDIA ITEM SAMPLES
The present technology pertains to managing a sample of a media item using a non-fungible token (NFT) and an associated smart contract. The present technology includes identifying a portion of the media item as a sample, and creating an NFT referencing assignment of a right associated with the sample of the media item. The NFT has an associated smart contract defining a condition upon satisfaction of which the right associated with the sample will be assigned. The present technology may also include identifying market data of the media item, where the market data includes at least one of a list price and historical sales volume for the media item, and identifying charts data, critical review scores, and social media interaction with the media items. The market data can be used to determine a spot price for the sample of the media item.
Curating Narrative Experiences Through Automated Content Compilation
A content compilation system includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a memory storing a software code configured to provide an editorial interface. The hardware processor executes the software code to receive compilation authoring data via the editorial interface, identify one or more end-user(s) for receiving a content compilation, access a consumption profile of the end-user(s), obtain, using the consumption profile and a first authoring criterion in the compilation authoring data, content items from one or more content sources. The software code further aggregates, using a second authoring criterion in the compilation authoring data, the content items into content subsets, groups, using a third authoring criterion, at least some of the content subsets to produce the content compilation, computes a desirability score predicting the desirability of the content compilation to the end-user(s), and provides, when the desirability score satisfies a predetermined threshold, the content compilation to the end-user(s).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMIC CONTENT RESTRICTION BASED ON A RELATIONSHIP
Systems and methods are provided herein to dynamically update content restrictions for multiple users by detecting a first user in the proximity of a media device playing a first content item and detecting a second user entering the proximity of the media device. In response to detecting a second user entering the proximity of the media device and receiving a command from the first user that controls playing the first content, the system modifies a stored relationship between the first user and the second user to track the relationship between the first user and the second user. Thereafter, when the system detects the first user and the second user in the proximity of a media device playing a second content, in response, the system automatically performs an action that controls the playing of the second content (e.g., without user having to issue those commands).
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RECOMMENDING CONTENT RESTRICTIONS
Systems and methods are described herein for recommending content restrictions to a user based on chatter in a social network of the user. The system analyzes chatter in the social network to identify a correlation between what is posted by users and the content that the users are posting about. The system stores a mapping between chatter and expected attributes of the content referenced by the chatter. The system will determine whether to block the content when an expected attribute is associated with a content restriction.
