An approach for providing segment-based viewing of recorded sessions is described. A video platform may determine one or more segments of a communication session based on content of the communication session. The video platform may also associate one or more segments with a recording of the communication session. The video platform may cause, at least in part, a presentation of the recording and one or more indicators for navigating playback of the recording based on the one or more segments, wherein the one or more indicators correspond to the one or more segments.

Systems and methods are described herein for providing media recommendations for a group. A media guidance application may identify a group comprising at least a first user and a second user and select a media asset of which the first and second users have previously accessed less than a duration of the media asset. For example, each of the first and the second users may have watched only a respective portion of the media asset. The media guidance application may determine a first amount of the media asset duration that the first user has accessed the media asset and a second amount of the media asset duration that the second user has accessed the media asset. Based on the first and second amounts of the media asset duration, the media guidance application may provide a recommendation for the media asset to the group.

Systems and methods of managing content and content requests are described. A data store of profiles of potential content contributors is provided. A request from a first source for content comprising content criteria is received, the content criteria comprising content contributor characteristics and content subject matter. Based on the content contributor characteristics and the profiles, at least a first potential content contributor is identified. At least a portion of the content request content criteria is transmitted to the first potential content contributor. If recorded content is received from the first content contributor, the first source is provided with access to the received recorded content. At least partly in response to acceptance by the first source of the received recorded content, the first source is enabled to publish the accepted received recorded content.

The method includes: receiving user operation instruction for a created content; analyzing the user operation instruction; determining interactive content corresponding to the user operation instruction; and displaying the interactive content, where the interactive content is used for indicating preference level of a user to the created content.

Systems and methods for presenting content are disclosed. One method can comprise presenting an interface such as a content guide comprising a field relating to content. A selection of one or more of a plurality of filters can be received. A first indicator representing first information can be presented if a first one of the filters is selected, wherein the first information relates to the field. A second indicator representing second information can be presented if a second one of the filters selected, wherein the second information relates to the field.

A system for presenting media programming guides is disclosed. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a media processor can have a controller to transmit to a media source a request to access media content of a personal television (TV) channel composed by a subscriber of a media communication system according to one or more graphical user interface (GUI) templates that define a plurality of segments of a presentation area of the personal TV channel and one or more modules that arrange media content of the subscriber in the plurality of segments of a select one of the plurality of GUI templates. In a multi-viewer household, the system may prompt a viewer to confirm her preferences. A TV program may contain interactive segments, and when the viewer chooses to interact with a particular segment, the system automatically stores all subsequently received segments for later viewing while the viewer interacts with the selected segment. The system may present TV program choices to the viewer selected and arranged in accordance with her preferences.
