Systems and methods for virtual interactions
Systems and methods for virtual interactions are described. One or more users can view or listen to media, react to the media and share such media experience virtually with others. The media experience can take place synchronously, asynchronously or both.
Digital image filtering and post-capture processing using user specific data
There are provided systems and methods for digital image filtering and post-capture processing using user specific data. A computing device may include a camera that records media of a scene, including images or videos. A user may utilize the computing device to add filters, graphical overlays, or other effects to the recorded media, which may alter pixel data for pixels of the media or blend graphics into the media. When adding image effects to images, the device or a service provider that offers and image hosting and/or sharing platform may determine recommendations for particular image effects to use when recording and processing the image. The recommended effects may be based on effects used in past media, as well as user information, and may change an appearance of the output media in a particular way specific to the user, media, and/or scene.
Methods and apparatus to calibrate audience measurement ratings based on return path data
Methods and apparatus to calibrate media ratings based on return path data are disclosed. An apparatus includes a processor and memory including instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to: determine an initial rating for the media provided in a first geographic area based on return path data (RPD) tuning information obtained from RPD devices in subscriber households in the first geographic area; determine a first panelist rating for the media provided in a second geographic area based on first panel tuning information obtained from first metering devices in a first subset of panelist households in the second geographic area; determine a nonsubscriber calibration factor based on the first panelist rating; and determine a final rating for the media in the first geographic area by modifying the initial rating based on the nonsubscriber calibration factor.
Computing system with content-characteristic-based trigger feature
In one aspect, an example method includes (i) receiving, by a computing system, media content; (ii) generating, by the computing system, a fingerprint of a portion of the received media content; (iii) determining, by the computing system, that the received media content has a predefined characteristic; (iv) responsive to determining that the received media content has the predefined characteristic, transmitting, by the computing system, the generated fingerprint to a content identification server to identify the portion of the received media content; and (v) performing an action based on the identified portion of media content.
Augmented reality content recommendation
Methods and systems are described herein for providing streamlined access to media assets of interest to a user. The method includes determining that a supplemental viewing device, through which a user views a field of view, is directed at a first field of view. The method further involves detecting that the supplemental viewing device is now directed at a second field of view, and determining that a media consumption device is within the second field of view. A first media asset of interest to the user that is available for consumption via the media consumption device is identified, and the supplemental viewing device generates a visual indication in the second field of view. The visual indication indicates that the first media asset is available for consumption via the media consumption device, and the visual indication tracks a location of the media consumption device in the second field of view.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RECOMMENDING CONTENT ITEMS
Systems and methods are described for recommending a content item. A search query for a content item is received. The availability of the content item from more than one source is determined. In response to determining that the content item is available from more than one source, the quality of each of the available content items from respective sources is determined. A recommendation factor is determined. The recommendation factor is based on at least one of the bandwidth available to a user device, the resolution capability of the user device, and the quality of experience of each of the sources from which the content item is available. A list of search results for the available content items is generated. The list is ordered based on the quality of each of the available content items from respective sources and the recommendation factor.
ENDORSEMENT SYSTEM AND TECHNIQUES FOR EDUCATIONAL CONTENT
This disclosure includes systems and techniques that verify an educational quality of online videos, employing a platform that enables experts to endorse and/or recommend videos that are more readily accessible to end users. Certain aspects include a computing device for a service provider that receives a query from a user for video content. The computing device forwards the query to a hosting service, and in response to the query, the computing device receives, from the hosting service, a list of video content items it hosts. The computing device identifies, for each video content item within the list of video content items, an endorsement value associated with one or more experts. In some aspects, the computing device generates an aggregated list of video content items from a plurality of lists of video content items based on endorsement values. The computing device provides recommendations to the user using the endorsement values.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FACILITATING A VIRTUAL SCREENING
A system for facilitating a virtual screening is disclosed. The system identifies a user for participating in a virtual screening of media content. The system generates a unique link for the user to facilitate access to the media content. When the user interacts with the link, the system prompts the user to authenticate with the system and determines whether the authentication was successful. If authentication is successful, the link is associated with an identifier of the user and/or a user device. A request for a key for decrypting the media content and a request for a digitally signed file accessing the media content pursuant to parameters are made. If the digitally signed file is valid, the system applies a watermark to the media content to track the use of the media content and streams the media content to the user. Feedback on the media content is obtained from the user.
QUALIFICATION TEST IN SUBJECT SCORING
Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for subjective evaluation. In some examples, processing circuitry receives scores graded by a subject to a media presentation. The scores by the subject includes a plurality of self comparison scores that are graded to self comparison tests in the media presentation. The processing circuitry applies a first rule and a second rule to the plurality of self comparison scores. The first rule requires a first subset of the plurality of self comparison scores in a first range. The second rule requires a second subset of the plurality of self comparison scores in a second range to limit at least an outlier to the first rule according to the second range. The processing circuitry determines that the scores by the subject are qualified for the subjective evaluation in response to the first rule and the second rule being satisfied.
Synchronizing video content with extrinsic data
Disclosed are various embodiments for associating and synchronizing extrinsic data with video content at particular points of time in the video content. In one embodiment, an application identifies a video content feature currently being presented via a display device. A current time in the video content feature are determined. Performers potentially depicted in the video content feature at the current time are determined. The application then generates a user interface configured to receive a user selection of a particular performer from the performers, where the user selection indicates that the particular performer is depicted in the video content feature at the current time.
