Account aware media preferences
Embodiments described herein involve providing media item preferences according to a user account of a user providing the preference, rather than a user account providing the media item. When a user indicates a preference for a media item, the preference are associated with that particular user, rather than with another user whose account the media item may have been accessed and played through when the particular user indicated the preference. As a result, a media preference history associated with the account providing the media item will not be disrupted by other users indicating preferences for the media item. Further, users may build on their respective media preference histories even when listening to music provided by someone else.
Apparatus, systems and methods for a content commentary community
A video community system that provides conversation videos to a member who is one of a plurality of community members. The system can include a conversation video storage medium that stores conversation videos that are each associated with one of a plurality of thematic content events; and a member interface that couples the video community system to a plurality of user devices. The member interface receives a user request from the requesting community member for a conversation video that is associated with a particular thematic content event. In response, the video community system accesses the conversation video from the conversation video storage medium that is associated with the particular thematic content event identified in the user request. The video community system communicates the accessed conversation video and at least a portion of the particular thematic content event to the requesting community member's device for concurrent display.
Media device content review and management
Systems and methods may be provided to monitor media content on a monitored media device, including multimedia content, to determine whether the content is appropriate for the monitored device or devices, and to take action to remove, filter or otherwise block inappropriate content. The content monitored may include, for example, content such as audio content, video content, images, and text.
On-demand live media content streaming
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method comprising receiving an initial request for content from a first user; sending one or more subsequent requests to other user(s), such as those at or near a location associated with the live content; receiving replies from the other users; presenting options to and receiving a selection from the first user; sending a confirmation request to a selected user; and receiving, by the first user, the live content from the selected user. In some embodiments, the method includes charging first user a fee for requesting and/or receiving the live content; and paying a fee to the selected user. The second fee may be specified by the selected user. In any case, the users need not know each other. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Interactive content feedback system
This invention is directed to a tool that enables content creators to collect and analyze feedback on their content during production and live performances. During playback of content, users are enabled to provide detailed feedback and comments via various feedback interfaces on user devices. Users may indicate that they like and dislike certain aspects of the content, such as musical instruments featured in a song, at specific points in time. Feedback is timestamped, transformed into values, and aggregated for review and analysis. Using machine learning techniques, the present invention can identify trends in audience preferences and generate recommendations for tailoring content and content delivery. An interactive display enables the content creator to efficiently manipulate and make sense of collected feedback. With robust security features, the interactive content feedback system described herein may integrate with content streaming platforms as well as operate as an independent application.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE CREATION AND MANAGEMENT OF VIRTUALLY ENABLED STUDIO
In at least one embodiment, a system for controlling aspects of a virtual concert is provided. The apparatus includes one or more controllers and at least one computing device. The one or more controllers are positioned in a venue and are configured to control features of a live performance at the venue based on at least one first signal. The at least one computing device is programmed to receive a second signal indicative of a command to control at least a portion of the live performance from directly from a user that is remote from the venue and to transmit the at least one first signal to the one or more controllers to control the features of the live performance.
METHOD FOR DYNAMICALLY TRAINING A SYSTEM TO DETERMINE AN AGE RATING OF MEDIA CONTENT
A system and method for dynamically training a system to determine an age rating for media content. An exemplary method includes obtaining age rating data for a plurality of territories; determining, based on the age rating data, a similarity vector relating to the target territory; determining, for the similarity vector, a territory associated with a highest prediction score; in response to determining that the territory associated with the highest prediction score is not the source territory, generating a training dataset comprising the age rating data for the target territory, the source territory, and the territory associated with the highest prediction score; and executing a machine learning model, trained by the training dataset, to output an age rating for a content item in the target territory based on an age rating for the content item in the source territory.
Presenting options for selecting content via navigation bars and designated content spaces
User interfaces having navigation bars are rendered on displays by streaming devices or smart applications operating on the displays. The navigation bars include selectable elements corresponding to applications that are preferred or designated users, as well as promoted applications, or utility applications. Placing a cursor or selection element over one of the elements for an application within the navigation bar causes selected content to be displayed above the navigation bar, along with discrete tiles including images associated with the application below the navigation bar. Moving the cursor above or below the navigation bar allows a user to activate the selected content or select one of the discrete tiles. Icons within the navigation bar may be displayed to a user in a predetermined order, at random, or in an order selected by the user.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CLASSIFYING RECORDED CONTENT FOR DELETION
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for classifying, based on most recent information associated with recorded content, the recorded content to an appropriate deletion classifier. A media guidance application may receive information about an event that is associated with a recorded media asset. The media guidance application may determine, based on the event and a current deletion classifier associated with the recorded media asset, whether the current deletion classifier associated with the recorded media asset needs to be updated to a new deletion classifier. The media guidance application may make this determination by accessing a deletion classification database containing rules for classifying recorded media assets into a variety of deletion classifiers. Upon determining that the current deletion classifier associated with the recorded media asset needs to be updated to a new deletion classifier, the media guidance application may update the current deletion classifier to the new deletion classifier.
METRICS-BASED TIMELINE OF PREVIEWS
Systems and methods are herein disclosed for displaying a smart preview of video content. A first claimed embodiment includes receiving video content. A system can then detect an event taking place during the video content having an event time. The system can then receive a request to display a preview of the video content. The system can then display the preview of the video content beginning at the event time.
