VIDEO CURATION SERVICE METHOD
A video curation service (VCS) method provides video content provided by an open streaming service (OSS) by adding video content information in conjunction with the OSS. The VCS method comprises: a step in which a subtitlist produces subtitle data with regard to predetermined video content provided from an OSS server, and uploads same onto a VCS server; and a step in which the VCS server operates a web or app page for viewing video content on a viewer terminal in accordance with a request of a viewer.
Systems and Methods for Using Hierarchical Ordered Weighted Averaging for Providing Personalized Media Content
An electronic device, for each media content item of a plurality of media content items, receives a respective score for each a first set of objectives and one or more other objectives and generates a respective score between a user and the media content item. The generating includes applying a first ordered weighted average to the respective scores for the first set of objectives, to produce a first combined score for the first set of objectives, applying a second ordered weighted average to the respective scores for a second set of objectives, wherein the second set of objectives includes (i) a resulting objective corresponding to the first set of objectives and having the first combined score and (ii) the one or more other objectives. The electronic device streams media content to the user selected based on the respective scores between the user and the media content items.
System And Method For Media Experience Data
A system for passive collection of media experience data to increase efficiencies in identifying and delivering desired media content. Behavioral data measured with a wearable device and camera sensors, including physical activity and physiological data, may be captured during a media content presentation and analyzed with media contextual and experiential data to measure media experience data and render media connectedness values between a subject and the presented media content. A system may operate on a network with access to a web service program and utilize mechanized learning and artificial intelligence to compare the previously analyzed media experience data with contextual data associated with media content available on searchable databases. The system may share media experience data and analyzed results with a social network group which can use the media connectedness value data intelligence to refine search methods for media content. The system's learning capabilities, for managing the described ongoing data collection ecosystem, will increasingly improve interpretive and analytic insights of a subject, their preferred choices media content, and the optimal conditions and environment for presenting specific media content with little or no input from the subject.
Intelligent system and methods of recommending media content items based on user preferences
A system and method for making program recommendations to users of a network-based video recording system utilizes expressed preferences as inputs to collaborative filtering and Bayesian predictive algorithms to rate television programs using a graphical rating system. The predictive algorithms are adaptive, improving in accuracy as more programs are rated.
MULTIPLE STREAM TUNING
System and techniques for multiple stream tuning are described herein. A plurality of content streams may be received. The plurality of content streams may be ranked. A user attention level may be scored as the user observes at least one content stream of the plurality of content streams. The user attention level and a rank for the at least one content stream may be compared to remaining ranks of the plurality of content streams to produce a difference. A stream action may be performed on a set of content streams from the plurality of content streams based on the difference.
Platform show pages
In one embodiment, a method includes determining available shows from one or more content sources, providing at least a portion of the available shows for display in a programming guide on a display device of a user, receiving a selection by the user of a particular entry in the programming guide, determining a plurality of modules for the particular show, and providing a show page that includes the determined modules for display on the display device in response to the selection by the user. The entries of the programming guide are each associated with one of the available shows. At least one of the determined modules includes social content from a social graph of the social-networking system.
Techniques to facilitate a live audience experience on a computing device
Techniques to provide an online audience to an event with a live audience experience. The live audience refers to users who are physically present at a live event and the online audience refers to users who are viewing the event through those users' computing devices. These techniques connect these audiences by communicating content that reflects the live audience's emotional state to the online audience's computing devices. In some embodiments, these techniques enhance the online audience's live viewing of the event by augmenting the event's broadcast with a visual indicator that expresses the live audience's response to a specific moment that occurred during the event. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Systems and methods for broadcast audience interaction and participation
A broadcast audience interaction and feedback system may discover and activate a recording function of a portable device of a user to record audio and/or video of media content output by a media device in proximity to the user. The audio or video data may be used to identify the content by matching audio or video fingerprints or signatures of the data recorded by the portable device with separately generated signatures or fingerprints associated with the content. Additional entities may be automatically associated with the content via capturing of metadata or closed captioning data during the content, OCR of displayed text in the content, or detection of other such entities. In some implementations, the portable device may also capture feedback from the user, including cheering, applause, and laughter, as well as explicit questions or comments, voting choices, etc. The feedback may be identified, and queries generated or additional functions performed based on the identified feedback, the identified media content, and/or one or more entities associated with the identified media content.
Methods and systems for receiving ratings from a third-party source of ratings
Methods and systems are presented for selecting a preferred source of ratings (e.g., Metacritic.com) and integrating the ratings into the electronic program guide (EPG) such as displaying the ratings alongside program listings. By allowing the user to select the source of ratings, the media guidance application ensures that the ratings provided are meaningful to the user. The media guidance application retrieves the ratings from the source of ratings selected by the user and displays the retrieved ratings in the corresponding program listing so that the user may make an informed decision about his or her television viewing. The media guidance application may also incorporate the retrieved ratings into media guidance functions such as setting reminders, scheduling recordings, or recommending programs.
Determining Popularity Ratings Using Social and Interactive Applications for Mass Media
Systems, methods, devices, and computer program products provide social and interactive applications for mass media based on real time ambient-audio and/or video identification. In some implementations, a method includes: receiving descriptors identifying ambient audio associated with a media broadcast; comparing the descriptors to one or more reference descriptors; and determining a rating for the media broadcast based at least in part on the results of the comparison.
