In response to receiving selection of the option to delay the action, the action may be scheduled to occur at a later second time within the presentation of the media asset.

Systems and methods are provided herein for delaying pause of the play of a media asset. This may be accomplished by a device receiving a command from a user to pause play of a media asset. The device may, in response to detecting a condition corresponding to a segment of the media asset, delay the pause of the play of the media asset until after play of the segment has completed. The device may pause the play of the media asset once play of the segment has completed.
