Delivering content
In one embodiment, there is a content delivery system comprising: a communication network; a media component configured to transmit media content and associated metadata to user devices; a store holding permission vouchers for users of the system; an auxiliary content management component configured to: receive a request for auxiliary content insertion information from a user device, the request comprising an identifier of a user of the user device and an identifier of desired media content; access said store to determine permission for consumption of the desired media content in a resource constrained playout mode at the device based on at least one permission voucher for the user; generate auxiliary content insertion information based on the identifier of the user, the identifier of the desired media content and the at least one permission voucher; and transmit the generated auxiliary content insertion information to the user device.
News production system with program schedule modification feature
In one aspect, an example method involves: accessing, by a computing device, a program schedule of a news program; accessing, by the computing device, data associated with an election; using, by the computing device, the accessed data to make a determination that a status of the election satisfies each condition in a condition set; responsive to making the determination that the status of the election satisfies each condition in the condition set, modifying, by the computing device, the program schedule at least by inserting into the program schedule a record that corresponds to the election; and displaying, by the computing device, the modified program schedule.
Dynamic library display for interactive videos
A video library interface provides a listing of interactive videos and information associated with the videos and is dynamically updated as a user views the videos and makes decisions that affect the playback of the episodes. More specifically, an interactive video that includes different traversable video paths is provided to and interacted with by a user. Based on user interactions received during presentation of the video, different video paths within the interactive video are traversed. In addition, a video library display including a visual depiction of information associated with a plurality of videos is provided. The video library display is dynamically modified based on one or more interactions made by the user with respect to the interactive video.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS EMPLOYING THE SAME FOR ENHANCING AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT IN A COMPETITION OR PERFORMANCE
Presented herein is an interactive platform for judging an activity by a participant in an event. The platform includes a client application program downloadable to a mobile device. The program may include a database storing a mobile device identifier (ID), a user ID, user information, and location data of the device. The application may further be configured to display one or more events of the activity as well as an input for receiving a score of the activity from the user. The platform may additionally include a server system connected with the client application programs via a communication network. The server system may be configured for receiving the mobile device ID, the user ID, the user information, and the location data for the client program, and may further be configured to receive the scores from the users, and to adjust the scores according to determined bias of the associated user.
Module and Method
The present invention relates to a module and method. A content item options module operative for a content item delivery system, is configured to: determine a change in content type of content items being delivered to a content item receiver apparatus for display on a display apparatus; initiate display of one or more alternative content item identifiers on said display apparatus corresponding to one or more other content items; and respond to selection of a one of said one or more content item identifiers to initiate display of a corresponding other content item on said display apparatus.
MEDIA NARRATIVE PRESENTATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS WITH INTERACTIVE AND AUTONOMOUS CONTENT SELECTION
An interactive narrative presentation includes a plurality of narrative segments, with a variety of available media content consumer selectable paths or directions, typically specified by a director or editor. The content consumer can select a path or path segment at each of a number of points, e.g., decision points, in the narrative presentation, providing the consumer the opportunity to follow a storyline they find interesting. Each consumer follows a personalized path through the narrative. For at least some of the paths, a set of two or more different narrative segments are available, and can be autonomously selected by a system based at least in part on collected information, e.g., demographic information, prior Web browsing history, that characterizes the content consumer. Alternatively or additionally, some or all paths through the narrative may be autonomously selected by a system.
Transmission apparatus and method, reception apparatus and method, and transmission and reception system
A content reception apparatus, for receiving non-real-time (NRT) content, includes circuitry that receives a digital television broadcast signal including a digital television program, the NRT content, and filtering criteria related to the NRT content and outputs the digital television program for display to a user. The circuitry receives question information relating to a preference, demographic, or interest of the user and generates user answer information based on the question information received. Further, the circuitry compares the user answer information and the filtering criteria, and filters the NRT content based on the comparison.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COMMUNICATING FEEDBACK
Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can determine that one or more viewers of a live content stream selected at least one option for interacting with a broadcaster of the live content stream; determine audio-based feedback corresponding to the selected option; and provide the audio-based feedback to be outputted to the broadcaster through an audio device.
Methods and systems for viewing dynamically customized audio-visual content
Systems and methods for viewing dynamically customized audio-visual content are described. In some implementations, a process may include providing at least one selection signal indicative of a viewer preference, receiving a dynamically customized audio-visual content including an audio-visual core portion having at least one revised content portion customized in accordance with the at least one selection signal, displaying the dynamically-customized audio-visual content; and providing a consideration for the dynamically-customized audio-visual content.
Method and apparatus for increasing viewership of broadcast programming
A system and method for generating or increasing viewership of a broadcast of an episode of a series by an affiliate to a plurality of receiver stations is disclosed. A live prefacing media program is transmitted to users within an affiliates market in such a way that does not conflict with the affiliate's exclusive right to transmit a media program within that market. The live prefacing media program includes media program clips from previous episodes of a series, and users can vote on their favorite media program clips. Such votes alter the content presented in the live prefacing media program. Transmission of the live prefacing media program terminates when the affiliates broadcast of the next episode of the series begins, thus encouraging or throwing viewers to view that episode.
