Identity-based face and voice recognition to regulate content rights and parental controls using consumer profiles
A viewer's rights to view content is determined instantly, without exposing any data externally, by capturing both a facial image and speech of the viewer. The data, which can be captured each viewing session, is matched to a secure profile which may have other security information assigned to it, such as service login IDs and passwords, or credit card numbers. If both the facial image and voice match respective templates, the viewer is allowed access to, e.g., cloud-based content (such as email) or is allowed to make a purchases within applications via account level access. Banking transactions may similarly be permitted upon face/voice match without the need to input a code. Personalization of content based on profiles recognized automatically during a viewing session is also facilitated.
SYSTEMS, APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR TOPIC EXTRACTION FROM DIGITAL MEDIA AND REAL-TIME DISPLAY OF DIGITAL CONTENT RELATING TO ONE OR MORE EXTRACTED TOPICS
A webpage or an application view of an app displayed on a viewer device includes primary digital content. A request from the viewer device is transmitted and received, via at least one webserver, to embed secondary digital content in a topic extraction platform (TEP) unit on the displayed webpage or application view. The secondary digital content relates to a topic present in and extracted from the primary digital content, and is derived from topic information about the topic retrieved via a control server from a topic information provider. A persistent connection is established between the viewer device and a dedicated socket of a socket server coupled to the control server to push updated secondary digital content to the viewer device for embedding in the TEP unit. One example of primary digital content includes a news article about a sports team, for which secondary digital content including betting information regarding an upcoming event involving the sports team may be embedded in the TEP unit.
Bill payments from a video screen
A video device configured to display video content includes a downstream network circuit for accessing and exchanging data with a computing system over a network, a downstream signal processing circuit for receiving video signals over a broadcast medium and converting the video signals into a video content stream, and one or more processors for causing a display to present the video content, and while displaying the video content, identifying a vendor, determining that the vendor is a registered biller, determining that the user has a bill due with the vendor, and overlaying an indication of the bill onto the video content, where the overlay includes an interactive element enabling the user to provide a user input to cause a payment to be made to the vendor. A bill pay request is generated and sent through the downstream network circuit to cause a payment to be made to the vendor.
IDENTITY-BASED FACE AND VOICE RECOGNITION TO REGULATE CONTENT RIGHTS AND PARENTAL CONTROLS USING CONSUMER PROFILES

System and method for providing augmented reality on mobile devices
A system and method for providing augmented reality on a mobile device is herein disclosed. According to one embodiment, the computer-implemented method includes providing a targeting advice area in a camera preview of an application running on a user device and recognizing a target using the targeting advice area. The computer-implemented method further provides an event via the camera preview based on a target recognition.
Method and system for simulating a virtual performance using virtual characters for content viewers
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and systems for broadcasting virtual performance. Motion data related to a performer is received from one or more sensors during a physical performance of the performer. The motion data is processed to animate movements of at least one virtual character. A virtual performance corresponding to the physical performance is generated based, at least in part, on the animated movements of the virtual character. The virtual performance is broadcasted to a viewer device for performing a playback of the virtual performance. The virtual performance simulates an experience of viewing the physical performance for the viewer.
Information processing apparatus
The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus with improved operatability. With the information processing apparatus in which the user is capable of watching a television program and connecting to the Internet, the index panel 1 shows channel buttons 2 to be operated to select a desired program, a site button 71 to be operated to make an access to site A available on the Internet and a site button 72 to be operated to make an access to site B on the Internet. The present invention allows the user to watch a television program and can be applied to an information processing apparatus such as a personal computer, which can be connected to the Internet.
System and method for providing customer support on a user interface
Embodiments described can more effectively complete complicated service transactions in a more efficient manner by having a team of well-trained professionals who are instantly streamed into any location as necessary. A two-way communication system can provide instant or quick access to the right expert at the right point in time, thereby converting what might otherwise be a negative customer experience into a positive sales and service opportunity. A computer implemented method for providing customer support comprises receiving, by a touchpoint device, identification information from a user of the touchpoint device; receiving the identification information; providing an electronic document to the user; receiving an input from the user requesting a session with a representative; selecting a representative based at least in part on the electronic document; providing information about the electronic document to the representative; and establishing a connection between the representative and the touchpoint device.
Method and apparatus for interfacing buyers with products depicted in a video
A method for capturing viewer attention concerning a product depicted in a color motion video display is provided wherein one or a chosen sequential plurality of image frames rendering the motion video on a display during a defined time period, includes highlighted portions of the video frame depicting products or services to attract the gaze and attention of the user wherein a provided user interface may be employed to request information about or order the product depicted in the highlighted portion of the display of the video.
Systems and methods for providing self-services over television
Cable and satellite television systems, televisions, and universal remotes are used to provide interactive financial self-services to users. The cable or satellite system provides a connection between a user and a financial services company. A television or other display device connects to the cable or satellite system and displays content from the financial services company to a user. The user may enter data and navigate through the content via a back channel using a universal remote or other input device. The user may thus complete the content, such as completing a loan application, opening a bank account, or purchasing insurance. The user may provide authentication information to receive personalized content.
