Disclosed are a method for recognizing an image by an electronic device and a configuration of the electronic device for same. The method for recognizing an image by an electronic device of the present disclosure comprises the steps of: capturing an image of content; acquiring, form a server, content recognition information matching a recognized text by recognizing the text from a text area, if the text area is identified in the captured image, and acquiring, from the server, content recognition information matching an extracted fingerprint by extracting the fingerprint from the captured image, if the text area is not identified in the captured image; and storing at least one of the content recognition information matching the acquired text and the content recognition information matching the fingerprint.

A method of requesting a broadcast notification present disclosure includes steps of receiving, by a set-top box, a notification request signal for a broadcast and mobile terminal information, transmitting, by the set-top box, the notification request signal and the mobile terminal information to a data server, transmitting, by the data server, a product purchase guide message related to the broadcast to a mobile terminal, and transmitting, in response to the data server receiving a notification request detail request signal and the mobile terminal information from the set-top box, notification request signal information corresponding to the mobile terminal to the set-top box through a network.

In response to receiving an indication to place an order for an item associated with the advertised subject, the computing device can further collect information included in the order. The computing device can further transmit, to the third party shopping system, at least a portion of the order and media account information. The order is recorded in a user shopping account corresponding to the media account associated with the computing device.

A content sharing method applied to a computing device includes: obtaining real-time image information of a target content for a content sharing event, obtaining user information of a plurality of user devices participating the content sharing event, presenting a virtual content sharing scene that includes the image information of the target content and the interaction information, obtaining authorized supplemental content corresponding to a target user type of the target user device, and presenting at least part of the authorized supplemental content in the content sharing scene. A system that handles delivery of service(s) through a client device, includes an interactive service provider, a video service provider, and a client device. The interactive service provider inserts at least one of digital watermarks and digital fingerprints in non-programming media content. The video service provider transmits a media stream of the media content that includes programming media content and the non-programming media content. The client device detects at least one of the inserted digital watermarks and the digital fingerprints in the playback duration of the media content and renders overlay graphics on the media content. The client device activates at least one of input devices paired with the client device and the rendered overlay graphics. The client device further receives trigger responses over activated overlay graphics and displays an interactive view to enable delivery of service(s) in response to the trigger responses.

A method for identifying a product which appears in a video stream. The method includes playing the video stream on a video playback device, identifying key scenes in the video stream containing product images, selecting product images identified by predetermined categories of trained neural-network object identifiers stored in training datasets. Object identifiers of identified product images are stored in a database. Edge detection and masking is then performed based on at least one of shape, color and perspective of the object identifiers. A polygon annotation of the object identifiers is created using the edge detection and masking. The polygon annotation is annotated to provide correct object identifier content, accuracy of polygon shape, title, description and URL of the object identifier for each identified product image corresponding to the stored object identifiers. Also disclosed is a method for an end user to select and interact with an identified product.

One aspect of this disclosure relates to a computer-implemented methods computers and messages for displaying a form associated with a video. The method comprises a number of steps. One step comprises transmitting at least one request message to a server system. The at least one request message comprises a video identifier and a form identifier. The video identifier indicates video information required for playing said video and the form identifier indicates form information required for displaying a form, e.g. an HTML form, associated with the video. Furthermore, the form information comprises a time indication defining a time in the video. Another step of the method comprises receiving at least one response message from the server system. The at least one response message comprises the video information and the form information. The method further comprises displaying the video using the video information. As one step, the method comprises, preferably while displaying the video, determining that the video reaches the time defined by said time indication. In response to this determination, the method comprises displaying the form.

Techniques for display using a video stream interface based on third-party webpage information are disclosed. Information on one or more products is obtained from a website by a third party. The one or more products comprise a product, a service, a coupon, or a membership. A video about the one or more products is rendered by a video user interface to a user. The video user interface comprises a video player in combination with a user interface. The video user interface and the third party are interfaced between each other based on a user interaction with the video user interface. Product information is fetched from a server based on the interfacing between the video user interface and the third party. Further product information comprises a reaction, a chat, a transaction, a promotion, and an interaction. The video is augmented with further information based on the fetching.

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a media server and parsing engine, 3.sup.rd party mobile aggregator, client servers, and a plurality of communication devices that are each associated with a user and a user profile. The media server can provide one or more of the plurality of communication devices with access to media content, with the access being provided at a time selected by the user. At least one of the one or more of the plurality of communication devices can transmit a critique of the media content. The media server can award points to the user based on performing the critique, and can transmit the critique and user information from the user profile to the client server. The media server can provide the at least one of the one or more of the plurality of communication devices with access to at least one of services or goods to be purchased with the points. The media server can redeem the points based on a purchase of the at least one of the services or goods using the points. Other embodiments such as the obtaining of end user preferences of content in a natural environment are disclosed.

Systems and methods for generating bill pay requests via an internet-enabled video displaying device are described. The transaction generating system presents users with the option to generate a bill pay request to vendors of products and/or services while the user is passively consuming video content. As video content relating to a given product or service is displayed, a notification invites the user to generate a bill pay request. The user can then use the internet-enabled video displaying device to generate and send a request to transfer funds to the vendor.
