DYNAMIC ITEM HIGHLIGHTING SYSTEM
A method and apparatus for highlighting a program listing in a set of program listings based on selection criteria. The selection criteria may indicate that the a broadcaster has agreed to pay a service provider in return for the service provider ensuring that a program listing, corresponding to the program of the broadcaster, is highlighted in a program page that displays a set of program listings, such as television program listings. If there are multiple program listings, listed in a program page, that are to be highlighted, then details of the respective contracts may be used to determine which program listing to highlight. Such details may include the total contract value, a ratio of contract value-to-page view, and/or the time of contract formation.
Systems and methods for navigating internet appliances using a media guidance application
Systems and methods for navigating through activity information using a media guidance application are provided. An Internet appliance is integrated with a plurality of content sources accessible to user equipment. A simultaneous display of a first plurality of media asset listings, corresponding to a first plurality of media assets transmitted by each of the plurality of content sources during a first time interval that includes the present time, and information received from the Internet appliance is generated. In response to a user request to navigate to a second time interval that precedes the present time, a simultaneous display of a second plurality of media asset listings, corresponding to a second plurality of media assets that were transmitted by each of the plurality of content sources during the second time interval, and a timeline that includes indicators representing activity detected by the Internet appliance during the second time interval is generated.
SYSTEM FOR ADDRESSING ON-DEMAND TV PROGRAM CONTENT ON TV SERVICES PLATFORM OF A DIGITAL TV SERVICES PROVIDER
Video content is uploaded via the Internet to a video-on-demand (VOD) server identified by a title and a hierarchical address of categories and subcategories for categorizing the title. The VOD server converts and stores the video content at a storage address in a video content database linked to the title. The title is listed in a location of an electronic program guide (EPG) using the same categories and subcategories as in its hierarchical address. Any TV subscriber can access the EPG and navigate through its categories and subcategories to find a title for viewing on the TV. This can enable many new blogging or podcasting-like programs by popular Hosts to be self-published on the Internet and readily navigated for display on TV. The EPG can also store TV program addresses as bookmarks and allow them to be shared with other subscribers or with friends and contacts online by sending to their email addresses.
Logical channel number parsing method and device
Disclosed are a logical channel number parsing method and a logical channel number parsing device. The method includes: acquiring an operator which provides program signal, and searching channels in sequence according to preset frequency points; acquiring channel information of a current frequency point, and extracting logical channel number data from the channel information, when searching channels according to each of the frequency points; and parsing the logical channel number data according to a prestored logical channel number configuration table corresponding to the operator, to obtain each of attribute parameters comprised in the logical channel number data. The present disclosure simplifies the parsing operation of the logical channel number.
Electronic device and method for updating channel map thereof
An electronic device is provided. The electronic apparatus includes a communicator; a storage configured to store a channel map including a channel name, and a broadcasting frequency and a channel number corresponding to the channel name; and a processor to extract a first keyword from a first voice command and search the channel map for the first keyword, store the first keyword, extract a second keyword from a second voice command within a predetermined period of time of the first voice command, and search the channel map for the second keyword in response to the first keyword not being found in the channel map, and generate a control command to select a channel number corresponding to the second keyword in the channel map and add the first keyword as a pseudo channel name for the selected channel number in response to the second keyword being found in the channel map.
IDENTIFICATION OF SERVICES CONTAINING THE SAME OR EQUIVALENT CONTENT
Identification of services that carry the same or equivalent content. A reception apparatus includes circuitry configured receive first service information for a first service included in a first broadcast stream, and receive second service information for a second service included in a second broadcast stream. The first service is associated with a first virtual channel number and the second service is associated with a second virtual channel number. The circuitry is configured to determine whether the first service included in the first broadcast stream contains the same programming content as a service included in another broadcast stream based on the first service information. The first service information includes an identifier included in the second service information when the first service included in the first broadcast stream contains the same programming content as the second service included in the second broadcast stream.
IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
A display apparatus and a method of operating the same are provided. The display apparatus includes a display; a memory configured to store at least one instruction; and a processor configured to execute the at least one instruction to: generate an integrated channel list, which includes first channel information that corresponds to an external image providing apparatus connected to the display apparatus and second channel information that corresponds to an application installed in the display apparatus. The first channel information includes information about channels provided by an external image providing apparatus and the second channel information includes information about channels which are provided by an application. In response to an input of selecting one channel from the integrated channel list, the display apparatus controls a source corresponding to the selected channel to provide content obtained from the controlled source.

SYSTEMS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING VIDEO ON DEMAND IN AN INTELLIGENT TELEVISION
An intelligent television can provide interfaces for indicating automatically one or more game sources from a plurality of game application sources, each game application source providing game content for user selection. On user selection of game content, intelligent television settings are automatically accessed to enable a game mode comprised of increasing a rate speed associated with a response to an input and discovering and initializing at least one game controller for the selected game.
USER INTERFACES FOR INTERACTING WITH CHANNELS THAT PROVIDE CONTENT THAT PLAYS IN A MEDIA BROWSING APPLICATION
In some embodiments, an electronic device presents a plurality of representations of content items that are available on a respective channel in response to successfully subscribing the respective channel. In some embodiments, an electronic device plays content that is provided by a channel in a unified media browsing application. In some embodiments, an electronic device presents information about subscribing to a channel based on content consumption activity of the user on the electronic device in accordance with some embodiments of the disclosure.
