Dynamic network identification

Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for a dynamic network identification to facilitate a selection of a desired audio. A premises (e.g., a public bar) may have a plurality of display devices (e.g., television screens) outputting videos associated with a plurality of content items (e.g., television programs). A computing device may assign an audio data of each of the content items to be transmitted over a separate wireless network. A user may be able to listen to the audio of a desired content item by causing a user device to join a wireless network assigned to transmit an audio data of the desired content item. The wireless network may be reused to transmit a different audio data. A network identifier of the wireless network may be renamed to indicate the different audio data. The network identifier may be based on metadata associated with a content item.

Method and apparatus for media property or characteristic control in a media system

A method including: transmitting, by a control device, a first portion of content comprising a first portion of a signal corresponding to a multimedia presentation characteristic of a peripheral device; receiving, when an adjustment of the signal is below an adjustment threshold, a first instance of an input indicating a request to change the multimedia presentation characteristic; in response to receiving the first instance of the input, adjusting a second portion of the signal and transmitting a second portion of the content comprising the adjusted second portion of the signal; receiving, when the adjustment of the signal is at or above the adjustment threshold, a second instance of the input; and transmitting, in response to receiving the second instance of the input, a communication signal to the peripheral device to adjust a peripheral device control of an output of the multimedia presentation characteristic.

Image display apparatus and method thereof

The present disclosure relates to an image display apparatus and a method thereof. The image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a display; an external device interface configured to perform short-range communication; and a controller configured to: when the number of external devices communicatively connected with the image display apparatus is one, or when a bandwidth usage for the short-range communication is less than a predetermined reference, transmit an entire signal to the one external device, when the number of the external devices is two or more, and the bandwidth usage is greater than or equal to the predetermined reference, acquire a plurality of channel signals from the entire signal; transmit a first channel signal to a first external device among the external devices; and transmit a second channel signal to a second external device among the external devices.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FACILITATING CONFIGURATION OF AN AUDIO SYSTEM

A system for facilitating configuration of an audio system tests the existing audio system configuration by playing reference audio clips of various different genres of programming, the audio of which is received by a microphone of a remote control device or other handheld mobile device at various different listening points in the room. The system then compares the audio signal representing audio of the reference audio clip received at the microphone to a reference audio signal representing the reference audio clip and determines other audio characteristics. The system then determines, based on the comparison and other characteristics of the room (e.g., furniture layout, room construction materials, wall treatments and current speaker positioning) suggested changes to a configuration of the audio system to increase audio quality of the audio system for playing audio associated with the various different genres of programming.

Devices, systems, and processes for facilitating live and recorded content watch parties

System and methods for facilitating content watch parties may include a sync server having a server CPU, a host user device, a client user device, and a content provider. The content provider may first provide a first portion of the content independently to the host user device and the client user device. The content provider may second provide a second portion of the content to the host user device and the client user device. The first providing of the first portion of the content may occur separately of the second providing of the second portion of the content. The sync server may synchronize the second providing of the second portion of the content to the client user device to facilitate substantially simultaneously presentations of the second portion of the content by the host user device and the client user device.

A control device is configured to (i) display transport controls to control playback by the control device, (ii) after connecting to a LAN, determine that one or more playback devices are connected to the LAN, (iii) detect input(s) to transfer playback to a particular playback device connected to the LAN, (iv) cause playback to be transferred to the particular playback device, including: (a) causing first cloud server(s) to transmit, to the particular playback device, resource locator(s) maintained in a shared playback queue, the resource locator(s) corresponding to respective locations of media content at second cloud server(s) of a streaming content service, (b) causing playback at the control device to be stopped, and (c) modifying the transport controls to control playback by the particular playback device, and (v) cause the particular playback device to retrieve the media content from second cloud server(s) of a streaming content service and play back the retrieved media content.

DISPLAY DEVICE

The present disclosure relates to a display device which displays an image with optimal picture quality according to genre. The display device may comprise: a control unit which determines the genre of an image; and a display unit which displays the image, the picture quality of which is adjusted according to the genre determined by the control unit, wherein the control unit may analyze an input image and classify the genre thereof, and revise the classified genre on the basis of a current scene.

LIVE AND RECORDED CONTENT WATCH PARTIES

System and methods for facilitating content watch parties may include a sync server having a server CPU, a host user device, a client user device, and a content provider. The content provider may first provide a first portion of the content independently to the host user device and the client user device. The content provider may second provide a second portion of the content to the host user device and the client user device. The first providing of the first portion of the content may occur separately of the second providing of the second portion of the content. The sync server may synchronize the second providing of the second portion of the content to the client user device to facilitate substantially simultaneously presentations of the second portion of the content by the host user device and the client user device.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a display apparatus. The display apparatus includes: a display; a user interface; and a controller, configured to perform: in response to a user input, synchronizing menu content data set under a current source to other sources, so that the other sources can obtain the same display effect as that under the current source. Unnecessary repeated setting is avoided, and convenience is brought to users in use.

Content presentation control

Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for preventing and/or discouraging access by children and/or other persons to restricted content and/or other information. Some users may have different hearing and may be able to hear sounds at different, for example higher, frequencies than other users. Users may also wish to discourage and/or prevent other users from consuming restricted content. A sound output at a high frequency may be used to disrupt the viewing experience of a user that is not permitted to consume restricted content. The high frequency sound may cause the user that is not permitted to consume restricted content to leave an environment where the content item is output. The high frequency sound may be inaudible to users that are permitted to consume restricted content. The high-frequency sound may discourage and/or prevent some users from consuming restricted content without disrupting the user experience of other users.
