Automated Generation of Banner Images
Example systems and methods for automated generation of banner images are disclosed. A program identifier associated with a particular media program may be received by a system, and used for accessing a set of iconic digital images and corresponding metadata associated with the particular media program. The system may select a particular iconic digital image for placing a banner of text associated with the particular media program, by applying an analytical model of banner-placement criteria to the iconic digital images. The system may apply another analytical model for banner generation to the particular iconic image to determine (i) dimensions and placement of a bounding box for containing the text, (ii) segmentation of the text for display within the bounding box, and (iii) selection of font, text size, and font color for display of the text. The system may store the particular iconic digital image and banner metadata specifying the banner.
Electronic device, method, medium, and program for simultaneous interpretation
The present disclosure relates to an electronic device, a method, a medium, and a program for simultaneous interpretation. An electronic device includes: a memory storing instruction; and a processor configured to execute the instruction to cause the electronic device to: present a prompt on a user interface indicating whether simultaneous interpretation is required when the language of a video or program is not the official language of the geographic location; present target language options to the user in response to selection of simultaneous interpretation, wherein the target language options include the official language; receive the original audio of the video or program; extract the audio segments of the original audio in real time and translate them into a target language in response to the selection of the target language; and output the audio segments in the target language.
User interfaces for managing audio for media items
The present disclosure generally relates techniques and user interfaces for transmitting audio using a computer system in accordance with some embodiments.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IDENTIFYING CONTENT CORRESPONDING TO A LANGUAGE SPOKEN IN A HOUSEHOLD
Systems and methods for identifying content corresponding to a language are provided. Language spoken by a first user based on verbal input received from the first user is automatically determined with voice recognition circuitry. A database of content sources is cross-referenced to identify a content source associated with a language field value that corresponds to the determined language spoken by the first user. The language field in the database identifies the language that the associated content source transmits content to a plurality of users. A representation of the identified content source is generated for display to the first user.
Geolocation-specific subtitle generation
A method for generating geolocation-specific subtitles for a video is implemented via a computing system including a processor. The method includes accessing, via the processor, a video including an embedded subtitle file, extracting the subtitle file from the video, extracting unit values from the subtitle file, and extracting a geolocation of a user executing a video streaming application. The method also includes converting the unit values within the subtitle file to geolocation-specific unit values using a unit conversion map, where the geolocation-specific unit values correspond to the extracted geolocation of the user. The method further includes streaming the video with subtitles from the subtitle file on a video GUI of the video streaming application and, simultaneously with the streaming of the video, surfacing the geolocation-specific unit values within a unit conversion GUI of the video streaming application that is surfaced on top of the video GUI.
Multimedia Distribution System for Multimedia Files with Packed Frames
A multimedia file and methods of generating, distributing and using the multimedia file are described. Multimedia files in accordance with embodiments of the present invention can contain multiple video tracks, multiple audio tracks, multiple subtitle tracks, data that can be used to generate a menu interface to access the contents of the file and ‘meta data’ concerning the contents of the file. Multimedia files in accordance with several embodiments of the present invention also include references to video tracks, audio tracks, subtitle tracks and ‘meta data’ external to the file. One embodiment of a multimedia file in accordance with the present invention includes a series of encoded video frames and encoded menu information.
INTERACTIVE PRONUNCIATION LEARNING SYSTEM
Systems and methods for generating audible pronunciation of a closed captioning word in a content item. For example, a system generates for output on a first device a content item comprising dialogue. The system generates for display on the first device a closed captioning word corresponding to the dialogue where the closed captioning word is selectable via a user interface of the first device. The system receives a selection of the closed captioning word via the user interface of the first device. In response to receiving the selection of the closed captioning word, the system generates for playback on the first device at least a portion of the dialogue corresponding to the selected closed captioning word.
Event-driven streaming media interactivity
Aspects described herein may provide systems, methods, and device for facilitating language learning using videos. Subtitles may be displayed in a first, target language or a second, native language during display of the video. On a pause event, both the target language subtitle and the native language subtitle may be displayed simultaneously to facilitate understanding. While paused, a user may select an option to be provided with additional contextual information indicating usage and context associated with one or more words of the target language subtitle. The user may navigate through previous and next subtitles with additional contextual information while the video is paused. Other aspects may allow users to create auto-continuous video loops of definable duration, and may allow users to generate video segments by searching an entire database of subtitle text, and may allow users create, save, share, and search video loops.
Media information processing method, related device, and computer storage medium
A media information processing method includes obtaining media description information, where the media description information includes description information of at least two bitstreams corresponding to a first picture area, any one of the at least two bitstreams has an access point different in time from an access point of another bitstream in the at least two bitstreams, the at least two bitstreams are bitstreams obtained by separately encoding picture content of the first picture subarea, and time periods corresponding to the picture content separately encoded by the at least two bitstreams overlap, and determining, based on the media description information, a to-be-played first target bitstream, where the first target bitstream is one of the at least two bitstreams.
