Provided is a display device in which a display completes preparation for outputting an alarm before an alarm output time. The display device comprises a housing, a display, a roller accommodated in the housing to rotate to wind or unwind the display, and a controller configured to control the roller such that the display is drawn out of the housing before a predetermined time of a set alarm time and to output an alarm at the alarm time.

Systems and methods are provided for applying attributes to subtitles. One example method includes accessing a subtitle file, wherein the subtitle file comprises one or more subtitles, and identifying an attribute to apply to at least a subset of the subtitles. The subtitle file is amended indicate an attribute to apply to at least a subset of the subtitles to create an amended subtitle file. At a computing device, the subtitles of the amended subtitle file are generated for display, wherein the attribute is applied to the subset of the subtitles.

The display control method for a virtual item includes: displaying a virtual item configuration panel, wherein a plurality of item slots are displayed in the virtual item configuration panel; acquiring a live streaming attribute, wherein the live streaming attribute is acquired in response to an attribute selection operation; acquiring a virtual item corresponding to the item slot, wherein the virtual item is acquired in response to a virtual item configuration operation on the item slot; and establishing a mapping relationship between the live streaming attribute, the item slot and the virtual item, wherein the mapping relationship is used to instruct an audience terminal to display the virtual item in the item slot of a virtual item panel.

A subtitle information display method includes: when an editing operation of a user for initial subtitle information of video information is detected, determining a video display region and an edited subtitle display region in an application display page; if the subtitle display region is not a subregion in the video display region, determining a first extension length and a first extension direction for each edge length of the video display region based on region information of the video display region and region information of the subtitle display region; extend the video display region within a region range corresponding to the application display page, based on the first extension length and the first extension direction, so that the extended video display region includes the subtitle display region; and displaying edited subtitle information in the subtitle display region.

Described herein are systems and methods for dynamically adjusting an aspect ratio of a video. Exemplary methods can include receiving (i) a video having an original aspect ratio and at least one user interface (UI) element configured to be selected by a user of the video and (ii) an aspect ratio of a display screen for presenting the video. The methods can include automatically determining a display area of the video to be presented based on (i) the default position of the at least one UI element in the video, (ii) an active area in the video, and/or (iii) a central area in the video, the display area having an aspect ratio equal to the aspect ratio of the display screen; and presenting the video display area in the display screen with the at least one UI element for at least the portion of the video.

A sales administration system that manages online sales via overlays on a video stream. Customers can comment on or respond to the video stream, and may order products using simple phrases such as “Sold”. The system can stream video with overlays to multiple clients simultaneously, including websites and mobile apps. Comments from all clients are received, aggregated, processed for orders, and displayed to the sales administrator. The system is coupled to a merchant's operational data, providing immediate visibility to changes in inventory and orders. Video overlays may be updated automatically by the system as this operational data changes, for example highlighting products with low stock. The system may analyze customer comments and orders both during the video stream and after the sales session is complete, and may generate recommendations to improve sales effectiveness. For backorders, customers may preauthorize charges to be at the front of the queue for shipment.

Metadata for a plurality of media content items is received. The metadata identifies a thumbnail representation of each of the plurality of media content items. The plurality of media content items are displayed in an overview area in an electronic program guide (EPG) in a user interface. The overview area comprises a plurality of cells aligned in one or more rows. The plurality of cells comprise a subset of the metadata for a respective media content item. An input of a selection of one of the plurality of media content items displayed at the EPG in the user interface is received. The selected media content item is displayed in a focus area in the EPG. The focus area comprises a rectangular area that is located near the overview area. The focus area comprises expanded metadata of the selected media content item for presentation in the focus area.

Real-time video manipulation techniques include performing shader-based graphical operations on user interface elements based on the state of an interactive video and the properties associated with the user interface elements at the state. The user interface elements are rendered into frames of the interactive video, and transparent interactive elements are layered over the user interface elements. In another technique, video frames in an interactive video include viewable and non-viewable regions. While the video is playing, the viewable regions are modified based on information in the non-viewable regions, thereby generating modified versions of the video frames.

A UHD display presents HD video in the native resolution of HD, leaving some portions of the UHD display unused for presenting the HD video. Ancillary information received, for example, in real time with the HD video or in parallel with the HD video over the Internet is presented in the unused portions of the UHD display along with the HD video.

Generally, according to aspects of the present invention, a media content item may be casted by a user equipment (UE) to another UE over a local area network (LAN). The UE (cast device) may cast a local media content item stored on the cast device to said another UE (media playback device) by streaming the local media content item to the media playback device over the LAN, so that the media playback device may play back the local media content item. The cast device may cast an online media content item stored on a remote server to the media playback device by causing the server to stream the online media content item to the media playback device over the Internet, so that the media playback device may play back the online media content item. Various embodiments of the present invention provide great efficiency and flexibility in such cast of a media content item from a UE to another UE.
