SYSTEM FOR QUEUING FLOWS TO CHANNELS
A system for queuing flows to channels.
CATV device with resistive signal distribution network
The present invention is directed to a CATV & MoCA® device, such as a RF signal amplifier. The RF signal amplifier includes a RF input port to receive signals from, and transmit signals to, a service provider. The RF input port is connected to an active communication path with a downstream signal amplifier leading to an input of a resistive splitter network. The resistive splitter network has plural interconnected resistors, which split the amplified signal received at the input of the resistive splitter network and provide the signal to plural “CATV & MoCA®” output ports. Upstream CATV signals received by the “CATV & MoCA®” output ports are combined by the resistive splitter network and sent to the RF input port to be transmitted to the service provider. MoCA® signals received by any one of the “CATV & MoCA®” output ports are carried by the resistive splitter network to the other “CATV & MoCA®” output ports, and potentially to other “MoCA® only” ports of the RF signal amplifier.
REGENERATIVE ACTIVE DISTRIBUTED NETWORKS
A mapping engine is configured to rearrange a configuration of data on a plurality of data channels. Each of a set of upstream filters is configured to pass one or more selected input radio frequency signals. An input of each of a set of upstream demodulators is configurable to be coupled to a selected one of the upstream filters and an output of each upstream demodulator is coupled to the mapping engine. An input of each of a set of upstream modulators is coupled to the mapping engine. An upstream aggregator comprises one or more inputs and is configured to aggregate a plurality of upstream-bound radio frequency signals, each input being configurable to be coupled to at least one selected upstream filter of the set of upstream filters and a selected upstream modulator.
Passive entry adapter system for a CATV network
A passive entry adapter system includes an external band rejection filter connected to an external network; an entry adapter connected to the external band rejection filter, an input port connecting the entry adapter to the external network; a directional coupler connected to the input port; a frequency-based signal separation device connected to a first terminal and comprising a high-pass terminal, and a low-pass terminal; a splitter connected to the high-pass terminal, where the splitter is configured to be connected to one or more first types of devices; and a broadband output port connected to a second terminal of the directional coupler. The broadband output is configured to be connected to one or more second types of devices. The entry adapter and the external band rejection filter are configured to prevent signals from a frequency band associated with in-network communications produced within an internal network from reaching the external network.
Method to support redundancy switching of virtual MAC cores
Systems and methods to support switching of virtual cores.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR COORDINATION BETWEEN WIRELINE BACKHAUL AND WIRELESS SYSTEMS
Methods and apparatus for enhancing communication and performance for a device backhauled by a wireline communication network. In one embodiment, the device comprises a small-cell or other wireless base station that is backhauled by a DOCSIS system within a managed HFC network, and the method and apparatus enable enhanced communication between the small cell/base station and the backhaul network so as to support “rate matching” between the device to mitigate packet overflow or other issues. In one implementation, enhanced cable modem (CM) and base station devices coordinate to inform the base station of the modulation order (and/or other parameters related to transmission of the data destined for the base station on the backhaul) so that the base station can selectively invoke utilization of higher-order modulation and/or coding schemes, as well as spatial multiplexing or beamforming.
MoCA entry device
An entry device includes an entry port, a filter connected to the entry port, a plurality of first output ports, and a plurality of second output ports. A first path extends from the entry port, through the filter, to the first output ports. The first path is configured to pass cable television (CATV) signals therethrough and to prevent at least a portion of multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) signals from passing therethrough. A second path extends from the entry port, through the filter, to the second output ports. The second path is configured to prevent at least a portion of the CATV signals and at least a portion of the MoCA signals from passing therethrough. A third path extends from the first output ports, through the filter, to the second output ports. The third path is configured to pass the MoCA signals therethrough and to prevent at least a portion of the CATV signals from passing therethrough.
Downstream modem channel analysis and allocation system and method
A system and method for identifying a viable channel within an allocated downstream spectrum and establishing communication via a modem thereon. The disclosed technology provides for the broadband analysis of some or all of the available downstream spectrum to obtain a mapping of available channels and directing the modem to establish downstream communication upon at least one of these channels. The system includes an interface via which a user can specify parameters governing the analysis of the available downstream spectrum and the identification of a viable downstream channel.
Data communication in a MoCA access network
A modem configured to operate in a Multimedia over Coax Alliance, MoCA, access network is provided. The modem comprises a combiner having a coaxial interface for connection to a coaxial cable network and at least two frequency-separated southbound interfaces, SBIs; at least two MoCA chips, wherein each MoCA chip is configured to operate a MoCA access link and comprises a MoCA northbound interface, NBI, connected to one each of said SBIs of the combiner, and a data SBI; a link aggregation switch having at least two switchports connected to one each of the data SBIs, and a port to a data communication interface for connection to a client device for communication at a client data rate; wherein the MoCA chips are configured to operate separate MoCA access links at different MoCA access frequency bands over the coaxial cable network.
METHOD, SYSTEM, AND APPARATUS FOR MULTIMEDIA CONTENT DELIVERY TO CABLE TV AND SATELLITE OPERATORS
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for delivering multimedia content from the cloud to cable operators are disclosed. A device located at the cable headend or implemented in the cloud can receive a request for at least one media stream for playback on a broadcast media channel. Content corresponding to a plurality of multimedia files in the media stream can be obtained from the internet or a cloud based service. The content can be used to generate the multimedia files in a format that is compatible with the cable operator. The multimedia files can be used to assemble the at least one media stream which can be provided to the cable operator for broadcast on the broadcast media channel.
