METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CREATING A PRE-FETCHING LIST FOR MANAGED CACHING IN SMALL CELL NETWORKS
Methods and systems may be used by a mobile-content distribution network (CDN) service to track individual user requests based on a correlation of a network level identifier to an application level identifier. The users may also be tracked using a mapping of the network level and application level identifiers to an internal identity. Further, the mobile-CDN service may build a cell profile using content requests from a set of active users across similar locations. Also, the mobile-CDN service may build a cell profile using content requests from user groups that have at least one member as an active user of the cell. Using a cell profile, the mobile-CDN may generate a prefetching content list for managed caching in the cell by localizing the content popularities and viewing patterns. The methods and systems may be applied in a small cell network (SCN).
Methods and Systems for Point-to-Multipoint Delivery of Independently-Controllable Interactive Media Content
An exemplary interactive media content provider system generates overall data representative of interactive media content. The exemplary interactive media content provider system concurrently provides the overall data to both a first media player device associated with a first user and a second media player device associated with a second user by way of a point-to-multipoint media delivery protocol. The first media player device and the second media player device may each be configured to render different portions of the overall data to respective display screens of the media player devices at a particular point in time based on different user input from the first user and the second user, respectively, as the first user and the second user independently interact with the interactive media content. Corresponding methods and systems are also described.
Streaming multicast content to a television via a mobile device
A device may receive information that identifies available content associated with multicast streams available for transmission via a network. The device may determine content selected from the available content. The selected content may be associated with a multicast stream available for transmission via the network. The device may receive the multicast stream associated with the selected content via an air interface. The device may process the multicast stream into a format compatible with a connection interface. The device may output the processed multicast stream to a display device, that is different from the device, via the connection interface.
Methods and apparatus for power efficient broadcasting and communication systems
A method and apparatus for content multicasting and broadcasting and data unicasting in a broadband multicarrier wireless communication system. A base station is configured to transmit, and a mobile station is configured to receive, a sequence of consecutive frames. The frames comprise two types: frames containing time-frequency resources for content multicasting and broadcasting via a single frequency network, and frames containing time-frequency resources for data unicasting without the use of a single frequency network. The two types of frames are intermixed in accordance with an intermixing configuration pattern. The intermixing configuration pattern is indicated by a bit-map contained in a scheduling signal.
COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM HAVING PROGRAM RECORDED THEREIN FOR PROVIDING NETWORK-ADAPTIVE CONTENT AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING NETWORK-ADAPTIVE CONTENT
The disclosure relates to a computer-readable recording medium having a program recorded therein for providing network-adaptive content and a related apparatus. The disclosure allows streaming content to be provided to a user terminal in view of a difference in transmission quality of communication networks by analyzing a source address of a signaling message transmitted to the user terminal, identifying the type of a communication network accessed by the user terminal, differently setting media transmission parameters for encapsulation and packetization in accordance with the identified network type, and performing encapsulation and packetization in accordance with the set media transmission parameters.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
An information processing apparatus includes an acquiring unit that acquires image quality information on a video a plurality of segments of which are sequentially delivered in a streaming manner and a bit rate of which is variable during a playback of the video, the image quality information indicating image qualities of one or more segment of the plurality of segments at each of a plurality of bit rates, and a determining unit that determines a bit rate of the one or more segment of the plurality of segments of the video that is played back according to the acquired image quality information.
Remote storage digital video recorder streaming and related methods
Systems, devices, and methods for streaming or otherwise delivering media content over a network are provided. One exemplary method of streaming media content over a network using a RS-DVR system involves receiving, at the RS-DVR system, a request for a portion of the media content from a media player on a client device via the network, receiving, at the RS-DVR system, the portion of the media content from an origin server on the network, buffering the portion of the media content at the RS-DVR system, and transmitting the portion of the media content to the media player on the client device. The portion of media content may be transmitted using a modified transport layer protocol, and in some embodiments, marked as non-cacheable.
Data transmission method, device, and system
A data transmission method is disclosed. N streams of video data uploaded by a video capture terminal are received, where N is an integer greater than or equal to 1; loopback indication information sent by a mobility management entity or the video capture terminal is received, where the loopback indication information carries an identifier of a bearer of video data to be looped back; according to the identifier of the bearer of the video data to be looped back, the video data to be looped back corresponding to the identifier of the bearer of the video data to be looped back is confirmed; and the video data to be looped back is sent to a trunking terminal. In the data transmission method, data that the trunking terminal needs to monitor is directly looped back at the base station.
Systems, methods and apparatus for transmitting data over a voice channel of a wireless telephone network
The various embodiments described herein generally provide apparatus, systems and methods which facilitate the transmission of data between a client device and a remote device over a wireless telephone network. More particularly, data from a client device is modulated into an audio signal and transmitted to a wireless telephone. The wireless telephone receives the audio signal and places a phone call to a remote device over a wireless telephone network. During the phone call, the wireless telephone transmits the audio signal across a voice channel of the wireless telephone network to the remote device. The remote device receives and decodes the audio signal to extract the transmitted data.
System and Method to Transmit Data Packets Via a Cellular Network
A method includes receiving a media stream at a media device and converting, at the media device, the media stream into data packets. The method includes initiating, with the media device, end-to-end connections between the media device and a receiving device via a plurality of cellular network and determining, at the media device, a quality of service factor for each cellular network of the plurality of cellular networks. The method includes selecting, at the media device, a single cellular network of the plurality of cellular networks based on the quality of service factor for each cellular network of the plurality of cellular networks. The method also includes transmitting the data packets from the media device via the single cellular network to the receiving device.
