A communication system and method of operating the same includes a conditional access module and a customer service module customer service request signal. A handler receives the customer service request signal. The handler determines a communication path to the conditional access module through a connection pool and assigns the communication path for the customer service request signal. The handler communicates the request through the communication path and returns the path to the connection pool when communicating is complete.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a system for determining a tag based on an interaction of a mobile device with a media processor. The tag is associated with a number of options of video content received at the media processor. A request is determined from the media processor for the number of options of video content associated with the tag. A transfer of the plurality of options of video content is initiated from a video source to the media processor. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Systems and methods for distributing an audio/visual feed of events include mixing audio signals, from microphones monitoring the event, with sound board feed from the event public address system, thereby forming a mixed audio signal. A video input signal is received at each video input in one or more video inputs at a video board from one or more corresponding cameras recording the event. A video input signal is selected as the video board output and is combined with the mixed audio signal thereby producing an audio/visual signal. This signal is encoded using a video codec, at each of several bitrates, and an audio codec, thereby forming bitrate streams each comprising the video portion of the audio/visual signal at a unique bitrate. The streams are received by a satellite router and transmitted to a satellite which sends them to one or more downlink servers for Internet distribution.

File types can be combined to create unique multimedia Shows, with added special effects and transitions. The Shows can be streamed to multiple device types or saved for later viewing. Shows can be pushed out to devices, viewed on-demand or by schedule and Cloud subscribers can change show content by changing media residing in their individual Clouds.

Video content is uploaded via the Internet to a video-on-demand (VOD) server identified by a title and a hierarchical address of categories and subcategories for categorizing the title. The VOD server converts and stores the video content at a storage address in a video content database linked to the title. The title is listed in a location of an electronic program guide (EPG) using the same categories and subcategories as in its hierarchical address. Any TV subscriber can access the EPG and navigate through its categories and subcategories to find a title for viewing on the TV. This can enable many new blogging or podcasting-like programs by popular “Hosts” to be self-published on the Internet and readily navigated for display on TV. An example disclosed apparatus includes a segment identifier to identify a first number of times a media segment was fast-forwarded and a second number of times the media segment was rewound; and a recapture identifier to determine whether the media segment was recaptured based on a comparison of the first number of times and the second number of times.
