APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR PERSONALIZED CONTENT SYNCHRONIZATION AND DELIVERY IN A CONTENT DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
Apparatus and methods for providing an enriched content services over a network. In one embodiment, the exemplary apparatus and methods leverage extant high-bandwidth capabilities of a managed network for delivering content downstream, as well as standards-compliant ultra-low latency and high data rate services (e.g., 5G NR services) for uploading content. In one embodiment, the exemplary apparatus and methods are implemented to synchronize content delivered of extant HFC architectures and DOCSIS protocols with user-generated or other content uploaded to a network entity (e.g., server apparatus) via an IP connection established utilized 5G NR services. Additional features include, among other, enhancements which enable user participation individually, or with other subscribers, in live or recorded content-based activities (such as e.g., auctioning, broadcasting, interactive commentary/gaming, exercising, etc.).
LIVE VIDEO STREAM SHARING
Systems and methods provide live broadcasts with real-time feedback from viewers using mobile computing devices. An example method includes providing a live feed broadcast from a source mobile device to a plurality of viewing devices, receiving, during the live feed broadcast, a plurality of feedback signals, each feedback signal being from at least one of the plurality of viewing devices, and associating each feedback signal with a respective time in the live feed broadcast. The method further includes providing, for each feedback signal in the plurality of feedback signals, an indication of the feedback signal to the source mobile device and to each viewing device of the plurality of viewing devices, the indication being used to display a symbol representing the feedback signal as an animation, the animation moving the symbol on a path during display and lasting for a predetermined time subsequent to the respective time.
TARGETED CONTENT DELIVERY FOR IN-VEHICLE OVER-THE-AIR TELEVISION BROADCASTS
Various arrangements for performing in-vehicle delivery of over-the-air (OTA) television channel broadcasts are presented. A vehicle antenna can be installed on a vehicle. An OTA television tuner that receives an OTA television channel broadcast and is electrically connected with the vehicle antenna may be present. A wireless network hotspot module can be installed in the vehicle and can receive the OTA television channel broadcast from the OTA television tuner. The OTA television channel may be packetized. The packetized OTA television channel can be broadcast via a wireless local area network (WLAN) to a mobile device located within the vehicle for presentation.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCED CONTENT CONTROL, CONSUMPTION AND DELIVERY IN A CONTENT DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
Apparatus and methods for providing an aggregated and interactive content service over a network. In one embodiment, extant high-bandwidth capabilities of a managed network are leveraged for delivering content downstream to network users or subscribers, and standards-compliant ultra-low latency and high data rate services (e.g., 5G NR based) are leveraged for (i) uploading content, and (ii) enabling interaction with the content based on user input. In one embodiment, the exemplary apparatus and methods are implemented to aggregate content from various third-party sources at a managed content delivery network (CDN) and deliver it as a combined or fused single stream (versus multiple distinct content streams), and allow interaction with the aggregated content stream via the low-latency connection to the aggregation processing entity. Additional enhancements enable user participation individually, or with other subscribers, in live or recorded content-based activities (such as via gesture recognition and learned skills).
Controlling Content Distribution
A computer-implemented method for controlling content distribution includes forwarding information associated with a user to a device operated by the user, the information being configured for use in selecting content from any of multiple content providers for a content distribution to the user. The method includes receiving, in response to the information, an edit of the information forwarded from the device. The edit identifies a first content provider and including a first modification of the content distribution regarding the first content provider. The method includes storing the edit in association with the information such that the first modification is taken into account in the content distribution. The method can be implemented using a computer program product tangibly embodied in a computer-readable storage medium.
GATEWAY DEVICE
A gateway device is provided. The gateway device comprises a wireless communication interface for communicating with a cellular network through a two-way radio link. The gateway device comprise a set of one or more video ports, each video port for connecting to a video camera through a wired connection. The gateway device comprises a processing unit for receiving a selection of a video port and an identification of a set of one or more destination devices to receive a live video stream, receiving, through the video port, raw video being recorded by a video camera connected to the video port, encoding the raw video into a compressed video stream, and livestreaming the compressed video stream to the set of destinations devices through the wireless communication interface.
Live video stream sharing
Systems and methods provide live broadcasts with real-time feedback from viewers using mobile computing devices. An example method includes providing a live feed broadcast from a source mobile device to a plurality of viewing devices, receiving, during the live feed broadcast, an engagement from one of the plurality of viewing devices, and associating the engagement with a particular time in the live feed broadcast. The method also includes providing an indication of the engagement to the source mobile device, wherein the source mobile device displays a graphic representation of the engagement during the live feed broadcast and adding the indication of the engagement to the live feed so that a graphic representation is displayed during the live feed at the particular time to users of the plurality of viewing devices. The viewing user may each have a graph relationship with a user of the source mobile device.
Viewing data transfer using barcode or QR code and signal capture device
A television broadcast receiver is provided, for example a set-top box or television set for terrestrial, cable and/or satellite broadcasts, comprising a memory for storing channel view data encoding channel view events and a processor. The processor stores channel view data in the memory and generates a signal encoding the channel view data. The signal is an audio and/or video signal. The processor then causes the signal to be presented to a viewer. Further provided is a method of receiving information about channel view events from a broadcast receiver. A signal encoding channel view data is received. The signal is a still image or video signal and/or an audio signal and the channel view data encodes channel view events. The signal is decoded to obtain the channel view data and the channel view data is decoded to obtain information about channel view events.
Advanced wireless IPTV smart television
A wireless IPTV SMART TV is provided with plurality of wireless modem modules configured to receive a plurality of wireless broadband connection signals synchronized from a plurality of cellular data networks, to process the plurality of wireless broadband connection signals, identify a set of data corresponding to a strongest wireless broadband connection signal strength, and convert said data into IPTV signals based on said IPTV provider access.
