NARROWCASTING TO ONE-WAY SET TOP BOXES
Methods and systems of narrowcasting to a service group having one or more one-way set top boxes are shown and disclosed. The method may include receiving encrypted single program transport streams (SPTSs) from an encryptor, and receiving one or more session control signals for the SPTSs from a switched digital video (SDV) control system. The method may additionally include receiving service information (SI) packet identifiers (PIDs) for the SPTSs from a conditional access (CA) system, and updating the SI PIDs based on the one or more session control signals. The method may further include converting the SPTSs to narrowcast multiprogram transport streams (MPTSs) based on the one or more session control signals, and transmitting the narrowcast MPTSs and the updated SI PIDs to a plurality of edge quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) devices.
Reset system for a remote physical device
In one embodiment, a cable distribution system includes a head end connected to a plurality of customer devices through a transmission network that includes a remote fiber node that converts digital data to analog data suitable for said plurality of customer devices. The remote fiber node includes a processor. The remote fiber node resetting software applications of a control plane of the remote fiber node in a manner free from impacting providing services to the customers as a result of resetting software applications. The remote fiber node executing the reset software applications.
Media packaging
Described are methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products for packaging media. In some embodiments, the technology relates to a computer-implemented method of packaging media files. A list of one or more media asset IDs is received by a media packaging server. A packaging template is received by the media packaging server. One or more media files based on a media asset ID in the list of the one or more media asset IDs and the packaging template are retrieved, by the media packaging server. Metadata associated with the media asset ID based on the packaging template is retrieved by the media packaging server. The one or more media files and the metadata are packaged by the media packaging server into a delivery package in a packaging format indicated by the packaging template.

METHODS FOR DISCOVERY OF MEDIA CAPABILITIES OF 5G EDGE
A method of managing capabilities of a media streaming network using at least one processor, including receiving a capability request for media streaming capabilities of an edge data network (EDN); determining the media streaming capabilities of the EDN; transmitting a capability response based on the determined media streaming capabilities; receiving a media processing workflow request based on the capability response; establishing a media streaming session according to the media processing workflow request; and streaming media content based on the media streaming session.
System for content triggered high-speed data service delivery independent of media delivery mechanisms
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a system for content triggered high-speed data service delivery independent of media delivery mechanisms. A backend system receives instructions from high-speed data customer indicating a selection of content triggered data service delivery; in response to receiving the instructions, enables content triggered data service delivery; (i) causes a gateway to cut-off HSD service or (ii) cuts-off supply to the gateway; causes a specified device connected to the gateway on its customer side to run a triggering content; and, in response to completion of running of the triggering content on the specified device, (i) causes the gateway to cut-on HSD service for the customer, or (ii) cutting on HSD service to the gateway and customer.
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM BASED ON DOCSIS PROTOCOL
A communication system based on DOCSIS protocol includes a server, configured to send a signal and demodulate a received signal; a coaxial cable, configured to transmit signals through a coaxial cable network; a frequency divider, configured to divide the signal sent by the server into a downstream signal and a full duplex signal; a downstream communication path, configured to transmit the downstream signal to a first modulation and demodulation unit; an upstream communication path, configured to transmit a upstream signal sent by a second modulation and demodulation unit to the server; a full duplex communication path, configured to simultaneously transmit the downstream signal divided by the frequency divider and the upstream signal, separate the downstream signal from the full duplex signal and transmit to the first modulation and demodulation unit, and transmit the upstream signal sent by the second modulation and demodulation unit to the server.
