METHOD AND APPARATUS OF SCREEN CAST CONTROL
A method and an apparatus of screen cast control. The method includes: establishing a first data link with a first device, in which, the first device includes information to be cast; acquiring the information to be cast from the first device based on the first data link; and transmitting the information to be cast to a data reception apparatus to trigger the data reception apparatus to cast the information to be cast to a second device.
Distribution of adaptive bit rate video streaming via hyper-text transfer protocol
A system, method and apparatus of distributing a video stream is provided. At a publishing point relay, a plurality of video files encoded from a portion of the video stream from a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) video encoding device are received. Each of the encoded video files having a different bit-rate, the encoded video files received using a protocol for transferring files. Edge publishing point servers are determined that are registered with the publishing point relay to distribute the audio/video stream. Each of the encoded video files received by the publishing point relay are relayed to each of the determined edge publishing points as each video file is received from the HTTP ABR video encoding device.
System and method for processing programing data using multiple technologies
Various embodiments of a system includes receiving a request to display a content and employing an antenna system to receive content data that is representative of the content. The antenna system includes a first antenna, a second antenna, and a third antenna. The system further utilizing at least three arrangements to collect the content, wherein a first arrangement includes receiving the content data broadcasted over the air to extract the content from the content data, a second arrangement includes establishing a wireless communication connection with a network node device operated by a first telecommunication service provider to collect the content data from a server, and a third arrangement includes connecting to a hot-spot having a connection to a second network node device operated by a second telecommunication service provider to collect the content data from the server. The system further transfers the content to the display component, which is collected utilizing the three arrangements.
Transmission apparatus, transmission method, reception apparatus, and reception method
A transmission apparatus that includes circuitry configured to generate transport protocol selection information used for selecting a transport protocol to be used in a specific service from a plurality of transport protocols conforming to a predetermined standard; and transmit, together with the transport protocol selection information, a content provided by the specific service according to the transport protocol set in the transport protocol selection information, and the plurality of transport protocols include at least ROUTE (Real-Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport) and MMT (MPEG Media Transport).
ASYNCHRONOUS WORKFLOWS
At least a first goal is assigned to a media asset including content and metadata. For at least two of a plurality of processes of a workflow engine relevant to said at least first goal, said media asset is simultaneously polled from time-to-time to determine whether prerequisites of said at least two of said plurality of processes have been met.
For at least one of said plurality of processes of said workflow engine for which said prerequisites have been met, said media asset is acted on to achieve at least a portion of said at least first goal.
Method for transmitting services information in different types of broadcasting networks and unit for processing said information
A method for transmitting services information in a broadcasting network by at least one managing center towards a plurality of receivers connected on one hand to a digital data streams broadcasting network of DVB type and on the other hand to a digital data streams broadcasting network of IP type, said streams comprising content data of the services and additional information data on said services structured in tables adapted to the transmission protocol specific to each type of network. The method comprises the steps of exploring the streams broadcasted by the network of type DVB and the streams broadcasted by the network of type IP and extracting services information from these streams, completing an information table, situated at the highest level in the hierarchy of the services information tables, included in the service information DVB-SI transmitted by the DVB network by services information related to the IP network, and transmitting the completed information table in the streams broadcasted by the DVB network towards the receivers having two switchable receiving modules, connected respectively to a DVB and an IP services broadcasting network. The receivers are able to activate the reception of digital data of a service, equivalent to the service currently received, with a second receiving module when the receiving conditions by the first receiving module are degraded.
Remote storage digital video recorder streaming and related methods
Systems, devices, and methods for streaming or otherwise delivering media content over a network are provided. One exemplary method of streaming media content over a network using a RS-DVR system involves receiving, at the RS-DVR system, a request for a portion of the media content from a media player on a client device via the network, receiving, at the RS-DVR system, the portion of the media content from an origin server on the network, buffering the portion of the media content at the RS-DVR system, and transmitting the portion of the media content to the media player on the client device. The portion of media content may be transmitted using a modified transport layer protocol, and in some embodiments, marked as non-cacheable.
Apparatus and methods for content distribution to packet-enabled devices via a network bridge
Apparatus and methods for providing content to packet-enabled devices in a content distribution network. In one embodiment, a network architecture is disclosed which enables delivery of content to IP-enabled devices such as mobile smartphones and tablet computers using a traditional high-speed data connection. This capability allows the managed network operator to provide content services to an IP-enabled device associated with a non-data subscriber. In one variant, a cable modem is provided which is limited to only retrieve content for delivery to the devices, yet which performs no other functions/services (including provision of high-speed data services). Alternatively, a “media server” modem is utilized to enable delivery of content from the managed network to a client or user device which is also able to obtain high-speed data service from a non-managed or third party managed network via a third-party access point. Security and authentication mechanisms for the transmitted content are also disclosed.
Transmitting apparatus, receiving apparatus, and signal processing method thereof
A transmitting apparatus, a receiving apparatus and methods of controlling these apparatuses are provided. The transmitting apparatus includes: a baseband packet generator configured to, based on an input stream including a first type stream and a second type stream, generate a baseband packet including a header and payload data corresponding to the first type stream; a frame generator configured to generate a frame including the baseband packet; a signal processor configured to perform signal-processing on the generated frame; and a transmitter configured to transmit the signal-processed frame, wherein the header includes a type of the payload data in the baseband packet and the number of the first type stream packets in the baseband packet.
Method and system for transforming video streams using a multi-channel flow-bonded traffic stream
A flow bonder at a CMTS and another at a cable modem distribute packets of a service flow over multiple channels and collect them in the downstream direction respectively; vice versa in the upstream direction. The service flow may include video and data streams that are provided to the CMTS via an IP network. IP header information is stripped form video packets and remultiplexed with packets of other video streams. The remultiplexed video stream packets are combined into a composite stream, which is transported using multiple bonded-flow RF channels over an HFC. A set top box receives the composite stream and separates data from video packets based on IP information. Video packets are assembled according to information from a multiple program transport stream table based on a program selected by a user.
