Optimized delivery techniques
Systems and methods are described that relate to on-demand compression for electronic data, such as media content, through a communication pathway. The communication pathway may be configured to multicast media content to a plurality of end-users in a service group. In certain embodiments, the service group may comprise a service group node having a quadrature amplitude modulation device. In one exemplary method, it may be determined whether the amount of media content being transmitted meets a first utilization threshold. The determination may be based on, at least in part, by measurements taken at one or more electronic devices located throughout a network or system. If the first bandwidth utilization threshold is not met, media content may be transmitted in a first format. If the first bandwidth utilization threshold is met, at least a portion of the media content may be transmitted in a first optimized delivery technique.
Dynamic content delivery routing and related methods and systems
Systems, devices, and methods for streaming media content over a network are provided. One exemplary method of streaming media content over a network involves transmitting one or more portions of the media content to a client device via a delivery route between a content delivery source and the network, determining a performance metric associated with the transmitting of the one or more portions via the delivery route, and dynamically adjusting the delivery route between the content delivery source and the network based at least in part on the performance metric.
Distributed analysis of network health
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for identifying a geographical location of an issue in a broadcasting network. An embodiment operates by a server or a headend sending a diagnostic test to a set-top box capable of processing a channel. The diagnostic test informs the first set-top box to have an idle tuner tune to the channel and to determine a performance characteristic of the first set-top box in processing the first channel. After receipt of the performance characteristic, the server or headend performs an analysis of the first characteristic and determines whether there is an issue in the broadcasting network. If there is an issue, the server or headend identifies a geographical location of the issue in the broadcasting network and sends the geographical location to a user for resolution of the issue.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING DATA SERVICES ON VEHICLES
Devices, systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for data communication to and from a vehicle. A device is provided that includes memory storing processor-executable instructions; and at least one processor in communication with the memory that executes the stored instructions to: receive, from at least one user on the vehicle, at least one request for data communication; identify a plurality of communication links available at a current location of the moving vehicle; form an adaptive bonded communication link using the plurality of communication links to aggregate throughput across the plurality of communication links for the requested data communication, wherein the adaptive bonded communication link is configured to adapt to data communication requirements for the requested data communication and to data communication characteristics of the plurality of communication links as the vehicle moves. Corresponding methods, computer system products, uses, and computer-readable media are also provided.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MANAGING CONTENT RESTRICTIONS
Methods and systems are described for managing blackout restrictions. A user device may retrieve a blackout condition from a blackout device. The blackout device may be a node in plurality of blackout nodes. Each of the blackout nodes may store blackout conditions for different corresponding content. The user device may retrieve the blackout condition from a blackout device associated with content in response to a request for the content. The user device may determine whether information associated with the user device satisfies the blackout condition. If the information satisfies the blackout condition, the requested content may be blocked. Alternative content may be output instead of the requested content.
Telecommunication network monitoring
A method, system, and computer program product for monitoring a telecom network is provided. The method includes retrieving images associated with a transmission location of a telecom network. A communication channel is initialized for enabling transmission of a real time video stream comprising the images with respect to virtual network functions. The virtual network functions are enabled and a triggering signal of the virtual network functions is located. Image collector software and hardware components are activated for collecting the images for local cache storage and location and activation information is collected. Attributes of objects within the images are collected and detecting resulting obstruction characteristics associated with obstruction objects located within a coverage area of the telecom network are detected. The obstruction characteristics are mapped with login and disturbance patterns of the telecom network and an alternative transmission location within the telecom network is determined for providing improved transmission characteristics.

Adaptive multicast streaming
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for monitoring data transmitted and/or received via multicast transmission and, based on latency, segment loss, and/or other occurrence, modifying sources and/or other characteristics of additional data transmission. The data may be video segments of media content items. Sources of video segments can be changed based on comparisons of rates of arrival of video segments, failure to receive segments, etc. Selection of an encoded version of content for multicast and/or unicast transmission may be based on indications of delay and/or non-receipt, and/or based on predictions of increased load on a network.
Video analytics system
A video monitoring system can include multiple collectors to receive video beacon data from multiple video monitoring interface modules. At least one beacon stream is connected to receive data from multiple collectors. A processing module receives the beacon stream and provides a real-time event stream used for real-time data analysis and a video view stream used for long-term data analysis.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTENT DELIVERY
Methods and systems for delivering content are described. A content distribution network may utilize multiple content sources and datacenters when delivering content to a requesting device. One or more service metrics associated with the content as it is being prepared for delivery at each of the datacenters may be monitored by a quality agent. The quality agent may use the one or more service metrics to select a distribution datacenter to deliver the content to the requesting device. The quality agent may instruct the remaining datacenters to disable delivery of the content to the requesting device.
