A system and method for managing video streaming on a computer network based at least in part on a state of a video streaming traffic flow. The method includes: reviewing a traffic flow to determine whether the traffic flow is a video streaming traffic flow; if the traffic flow is a video streaming traffic flow, determine at least one video characteristic associated with the video streaming traffic flow; determining a state of the video streaming traffic flow; determining a priority of the video streaming traffic flow based on the characteristics and the state of the video streaming traffic flow; and allocating bandwidth to the video streaming traffic flow based on the priority; otherwise, if the traffic flow is not a video streaming traffic flow, allowing the traffic flow to continue with the traffic flow's current priority.

Performant ad hoc data ingestion

A video processing engine may receive a request for a video communication session, via a network to produce a video file key that is routed to the video camera. If the video camera is communicatively connected to a Wi-Fi 6 compatible wireless access point, it routes a high-quality video file to the Network Operation Center (NOC). Alternatively, using the video key file, the video camera generates message digests and watermarks that are embedded in a video camera generated high-quality video file and a degraded quality video file. The video camera routes, via the network, the degraded quality video file to the NOC, while the high-quality video file is uploaded to the NOC later. Subsequently, a video processing engine extracts the watermarks from the message digests of the video files and compares them to ensure that the high-quality video file correlates to the degraded quality video file.

Facilitating Video Streaming and Processing By Edge Computing

A system and computer-implemented method are provided for facilitating a video streaming which comprises a plurality of transmitter devices each transmitting a respective video via a telecommunication network and a receiver device receiving the respective videos via the telecommunication network. The system may comprise an edge node which may receive video from a transmitter device in uncompressed form or in compressed form as a low latency video stream, process the video and encode the processed video as a tile-based video stream. A combiner may then, in the compressed domain, combine any received tile-based video streams to obtain a combined tile-based video stream which contains tiles of the videos of at least two transmitter devices and which may be decodable by a single decoder instance.

Method and apparatus for carrying out the method receiving packets, each of the packets comprising a header and a payload. For a particular packet among the packets, the method includes processing at least the header of the particular packet to determine a flow associated with the particular packet; attempting to determine a payload structure based on the flow, the payload structure associated with transport of coded video data in the payload of the particular packet; and if the attempting is successful, repackaging coded video data contained in the payload of the particular packet into a new packet and forwarding the new packet to an external system or storing the new packet in memory.
